Honey Harbour is said to be the gateway to Muskoka, a small town in the Township of Georgian Bay.
Situated on the eastern shores of the Georgian Bay, the Township covers 992 square kilometers of breathtaking landscapes and pristine waters. The village communities of Port Severn, Honey Harbour and MacTier are nestled within large areas of publicly owned lands, forests and parks. The area is rich in natural capital – diverse parks and nature reserves, the Georgian Bay 30,000 Islands region, Georgian Bay Islands National Park, Six Mile Lake Provincial Park, and the Trent Severn Waterway National Historic Site, navigation Lock 45 at Port Severn.
Steeped in history, our cultural roots are an important backbone of the community. Archaeological records reveal an Aboriginal presence in the southern regions of the Canadian Shield dating from 11,000 years ago. The Trent-Severn River is one of these important sites located in the Township and has been designated as a Canadian Heritage Waterway. From this River, the Port Severn Locks, dams, waterfalls, a 1910 swing bridge and the historic Victorian Gothic Bressette House (circa 1888) can be viewed.
The famous Group of Seven artists often took inspiration from Georgian Bay’s wild, bare shoreline and windswept islands.
We are on the main strip of Honey Harbour and all the amenities that are offered are a short walk from our cottage, including a small beach, public docks.
There is plenty of parking at our place on site for 4 cars
We are across the street from the park with play structure, ice rink in winter months and basketball court
Golf course, several other beaches, public trails for hiking are a short drive away
ATV trail and Skidoo trail is right on Honey Harbour Road and connects to many other trails
If you are looking for a place where you can relax and leave all the stress behind, you just found it.
