The bungalow was as described. The back yard is beautiful and well maintained, a real oasis to enjoy the Palm Springs sun. The house itself needs some upgrading but is functional and the beds were comfortable. The host was not responsive to our questions (except with regards to one issue that needed urgent attention) but everything worked out and we had a good stay.
There is a mildew smell. It’s a dated home filled with campy art. Many of the windows don’t open and drapes don’t open as well. Fuzzy phallic on wall over toilet. I have no problem with the phallus, but a fuzzy stuffy stuck to the wall over the toilet?
Our stay was nice and relaxing the host was very responsive when we had an issue with the kitchen faucet which was very minor. The only issue we had was that there was no manual for how things worked ie the dishwasher which we looked up to see how it worked. The host did provide instructions on the other equipment thru email but a manual in the house would benefit everyone in your party.
Overall it was very relaxing and a great experience.
Pros: We loved the decor, furniture & updated bathrooms! The smeg appliances were a nice touch, but didn't function that well. Loved the apple TV & the master bed was SO comfortable. The location is great & is well landscaped. The vintage stove/house features were really cool to see.
Cons: Our main issues with the property was that the pool was very dirty - we arrived on Friday, despite pool guy supposedly coming the day before, and there was a ton of dirt/debris in the pool and the walls could really use a scrub. The kitchen had a strong odor around the sink & I wasn't sure what "Water turns on 3x a day" meant (and why? and how would we know when to use it?). Small ants crawled on the countertops in the kitchen. Sliding doors were original, so the locks didn't function - but I did appreciate the "alarm" features it had just in case. Some of the artwork was a bit creepy if I'm being honest. The Also, scissors & a frying pan in the kitchen would be very helpful.
Overall, this place served its purpose & photographs very well. But I kept trying to angle the pool out of pictures due to it being so dirty.
My three brothers and I came for a sibling trip and this pink house looks exactly like it does in the photos. Very close to shopping, easy to use BBQ, kitchen with retro looking fixtures, cool contemporary art on the walls, small pool was the perfect size for the 4 of us to float around in. Owner communication was great, all around great place.
This was such a great house for our long weekend in Palm Springs. The pool was perfect. The kitchen was well equipped for a few meals in. We picked oranges from the tree in front. The house has cool art and a very Palm Springs retro feel. Graeme was a wonderful host and very responsive when we had a few questions. Would highly recommend!
Had a wonderful stay at the Desert Rose! We were mostly by the pool when the sun was out (thankfully the pool is heated!) and spent the chilly, rainy nights inside by the cozy fire with games or the TV on. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals, and a BBQ as well. We slept in the main bedroom and the bed was very comfy. Location was close to all our fave places downtown and has great mountain views. Nice neighbourhood for taking a walk around to see some of the wonderful mid-century architecture. We visit Palm Springs twice a year and definitely will be booking here again.
We were thrilled to be staying at this property. The host was very responsive, and everything was as described in the listing. We were incredibly comfortable, and very close to all of the touristy downtown locations. We had the pool heated and it was perfect for us - we definitely went in every day despite it only being 70 degrees. The host also allowed our dogs on property - the yard was excellent for them! Thank you so much.
This was a perfect house to share with the girls, pictures don't do it justice. Great experience, and easy check-in. Would love to come back to this house!
Clean, bigger than anticipated. Very close to downtown.

The Desert Rose is a unique gem
The house is adorable with some interesting and unique artwork that is true to the pictures in the listing. The retro kitchen is charming and has all the modern amenities. The pool is amazing but cool, so pay for the water to be heated if cold swims aren’t your thing. Plenty of space, comfy beds and anything you may need is already there. Only issue was with checkin. We had not received the access code by checkin time and made several attempts to contact the owner. We then called VRBO and spent almost an hour on the phone with them trying to rectify the situation by offering to put us up in a hotel for the night when the owner finally responded after a final attempt. He was apologetic for the delay and we were able to get in the house immediately.
First time to Palm Springs with the family for spring break. Had plenty of room for our girls + two of their friends. The house was great, very cool design and art/accents. Great location close to downtown. Only downside was TV, we weren't able to watch March Madness games at the house. No instructions at the house for visitors which would have been helpful in this case. Had visit from pool person our 1st day along with owner which was a bit unexpected. But overall, it was a great experience.
We had such a good time at the Desert Rose! First vaca for our two small families in 2 yrs and it was perfect. The decor and artwork is stunning, and the location is close to everything, yet in a quiet neighborhood for great sleep. We will def be back!
Fun, cozy house that's got a kidney shaped pool, what more could you ask for. Comfortable beds, great kitchen/eating area, fun stylish details, fire pit, central location. we were very happy with this stay and highly recommend the pink house in palm springs!
Pros: Beautiful home back yard is huge and dog friendly. Pretty good communication between manager and us.
As far as the stay goes unfortunately we were kinda disappointed a lot of things added up to really bring down the stay.
-so thought was out of the control of the owner the pool pump broke the previous week so we were unable to really enjoy it because of it being 62 degrees (we were going to pay to heat it). The fact the pump and heating went out a week before our stay would of been great to know prior to our stay. We didn’t find out till day two it was broke. We have a pretty disappointed child on this trip. The main reason we booked this was for the pool. I completely understand that a pool pump breaking is out of the managers control and supply chains are effecting everyone. I really do. Just would been nice to know before we still came to stay. We probably would of found different accommodations and there is no shortage in rentals in the area.
Second we had no soap, shampoo in the master bedroom since they advertised they were provided we didn’t bring any. Had to go buy our own.
- no pool towels were found till our last night they were all stuffed in the dryer still.
- we found drugs in a kitchen drawer and master bedroom drawer. Now that is completely out of the managers control but who ever cleans your rental really needs to be cognizant of checking drawers. We have a very curious child and I would of hate to of had her find them first.
For a few minor things. Dishwasher is leaking and stops mid cycle. French press was broke.
The main thing was communicating the pool was inoperable. It was disappointing. The pool did end up getting fixed the evening of our last night but not in time for us to enjoy it at all.
We would possibly consider this property again and we made the best of it but overall leaving disappointed.
