Great Northern Getaway

We had a great stay at Mark’s home! A lot of space for games and activities indoors and outside. Mark was great with communication and more than generous with feedback and requests. Would definitely recommend!

Great Stay!

Mark was very clear and prompt with his communication. Check-in process was seamless. The property was magnificent. Had a huge game room, great property outside to play yard games, and everything you would need to BBQ. Highly recommend his property for family and friend get togethers!

Great Space and Great Location

We had a group of 12 rent this house for a retreat, and we had an excellent stay. The location is idyllic, the outdoor space is great for a large group, and the house itself was well-stocked. If there were any small issues, Mark was very responsive and could give us an immediate fix. Overall, we had a great time.

Great Northern Location

We recently stayed here with our children and 9 grandchildren. The home had everything and more that we needed for our stay. The table games and basketball court were a plus. Location to Vans Beach, Fish Town, Suttons Bay and the Sleeping Bear Sand Dunes were a plus. Mark was an excellent host and very responsive to all our questions. I would highly recommend this beautiful log home.

Great place for a large group. We had 4 families with kids and never felt crowded. Plenty of games/activities at the house to keep the kids occupied. Great kitchen / fridge / cooking amenities. The location is perfect as you’re never more than a 30 minute drive to most things on Leelanau or Traverse City.

Wonderful Family Retreat

Excellent location in the heart of the Leelanau peninsula. So much to see and explore within 5-25 minutes. Our family had as many as 17 there at one time and had plenty of space. We did need to navigate the 2.5 baths, but managed that ok. House is in good shape. We made great use of the deck and sports court. The kids enjoyed the game room. This was an ideal house and location for our family retreat.

Cute hideaway

We had a wonderful time. Close to Traverse City and other small towns, plus beach. Cute restaurants that could accommodate all 16 of us. House only has 2.5 bathrooms, which required scheduling. Pressure sometimes an issue. Kids loved basketball court and game garage .

Up North trip for family

We enjoyed location. Thought we would be able to enjoy water right across the street, but the narrow walk path and very narrow dock made it unsafe to take our babies which was not suitable for swimming anyway. Positive things...Mark was attentive to my texts. Bedrooms were nice size and comfortable. Negatives...no air conditioning! Guess we just thought that would be equipped. Most windows and doors did not have screens. No cross ventilation. Made us all a bit cranky and irritable. House is dated for sure and could use a good cleaning. Nice size house for our family but wished we had done more research.

Family time in fun setting

Our family, always including a few friends, was a group of about 12 with ages 4-80’s. There are indoor/outdoor spaces where our entire family can congregate, along with large bedrooms allowing plenty of privacy. The young people especially enjoyed the large game room and basketball court. On a rainy day, we gathered around the large dining room table for an art day. The outdoor grills were perfect for dinners. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking with generous stocked items. There is no need for me to bring my favorite cookware, crockpot or extra coffee pots. The house is in a very convenient location for everything from Traverse City to Northport. The owner is available for all communication and seems eager for everyone to enjoy their time in his home. We heartily recommend this lovely “cabin”.

Family Time

I highly recommend staying at this "Cabin in the Woods"! We spent a week with our two adult children & their spouses and seven grandkids. Plenty of room for our family of 13. The grandkids really enjoyed the outdoor games; basketball court, Corn Hole game, and the Hillbilly Golf, as well as the indoor games in the game room; ping pong, pool table, air hockey & foosball table. The location was perfect for us, centered in Lake Leelanau. We ended our evenings with a nightly relaxation around the fire pit. We created wonderful family memories because of this beautiful "Cabin in the Woods" in Pure Michigan. ❤️ We happened to be celebrating our "50th Wedding Anniversary" as well. 🥂

Large family getaway

We were one of the first guests to rent this property. We had a large family group for a week in Northern Michigan. Overall we had a great stay. The cabin is large with 5 bedrooms and several beds in most rooms. There are also three dining room tables which gave us plenty of space for eating and playing games. The attached large garage has been converted into a game space which gave everyone something to do when the weather wasn't great. Outside the sports court allows for more games as well as a large deck for eating or relaxing. The owner Mark was very responsive and communicating with us along the way as he was making improvements (and continues to do so) and answering our questions. The home sits across the street from S Lake Leelanau and when he improves the property by adding a dock it will make for an even better stay. One of the many public boat launches is just down the street a few blocks and launching the boat was very easy. There are several great eating spots just down the street and the drive to Leland is a short ten minutes where we found ourselves several times each day. This property is the perfect fit for a multi family getaway or a large family. Definitely caters to kids with the various types of entertainment.

Family man who worked in property management this entire youth as the family business. We always dreamed of owning a Log Cabin up North in Michigan. We have been renting Vrbo’s for over 15 years and we finally decided to take what we’ve learned and offer a much better, cleaner, unique vacation property for families to make memories for years to come.

Why they chose this property

This property is very unique, it’s a private estate. A beautiful cabin in the forest that is across the street from Lake Leelanau. Access to the Lake is directly across the street with a new boat dock. It has a basketball court in the backyard. 5 bedroom fireplace suites. 6 fireplaces and rustic log furniture throughout the cabin. Can fit large families, multiple families/multiple generations of family. Make this cabin your preferred place for family reunions. We’re updating weekly and adding amenities. We will be building a beautiful fire pit area, and outdoor seating areas with a Pavilion. Multiple grills will be setup. A natural gas Weber Summit 6-burner Grill. And a large charcoal grill.
