About this property

Silver Mine at The Lake is a spacious, open concept four bedroom rental unit. It is located next to the famous Tight Hollow old growth forest. We have a catch and release lake on the property for you to enjoy. Stocked with catfish and many other types of fish. Fishing is at own risk and life vest ( provided) are required as we do not have a lifeguard on duty. This is a lodge setting but privacy is not an issue as there are only two rentals in the building and they are located on opposite ends of the building.

* We will do everything we can to fix any issues that may arise but some things are out of our control and that is why they are not guaranteed.

* A signed rental agreement and photo id is required 48 hours prior to your stay. If not received or not within renting age, refund returned will be the percentage in place at time of cancellation
* Security cameras are in use on the exterior of the building only. They are located on all 4 corners facing outward. The front cameras catch traffic coming in and going out. We also have a camera pointing down the porch to catch anyone driving around the building and putting potential guests at risk. The backyard cameras are facing out in the yard and porch step only. The main purpose of the cameras are to deter potential criminal activity due to being a remote location. They are also used to ensure we are following Kentucky's Short Term Rental Laws as well as State Fire Codes by only allowing a max number of 10 guests. The law states 2 per bedroom and two additional guests. If privacy or what is visible is a concern I have no problem meeting you at the property to show you in person and in real time.

Great stay

Very Nice 4 Bedroom house recently updated. Robert was great with our stay. There was 8 of us with room for more. Planning on going back for a SxS trip.

Great location and clean!

Everything was exactly as described maybe even better! Loved the backyard, the view and the cabin was extremely clean. The location was close to hiking and underground kayaking. The host was very responsive to any questions we had. It was perfect for our group of 8. Highly recommend!

Weekend Away with Friends

The property was excellent, very clean, and true to the pictures. We had 7 adults here very comfortably. The location is very close to several hiking locations and only 10 minutes from a grocert store. We cooked 3 meals here instead of going out, and all of the cooking utensils and such were clean and ready to use. Will definitely be back again!

Spacious and great natural surroundings

The pictures don't do this justice. Very nice interior and the back of the property opens up to a beautiful wooded area with a lake and a nice view. Very private feel with some cool bonus features like a pool table and arcade machine. Blinds aren't sufficient to keep light out so made it a little harder to get the kiddos to sleep. Overall though - an awesome experience. Stayed with 5 adults and 2 children under 6.

Would highly recommend!!

Myself and 7 others came down for the weekend, to ride sxs’s at Hollerwood off road park. Communication with the host was wonderful! The location was great! 15 minutes to the park. The lodge its self was awesome. We enjoyed the pool table, hot tub, blackstone grill and loved the open layout. It is ideal for a group of friends or family looking to get away together. The place was extremely clean and well kept and everything worked as should. The one and only complaint, and I wouldn’t even consider it a complaint, but is maybe provide more trash bags and clean towels. We ran out of towels fast and trash bags. Other than that, 0 complaints and we are already discussing coming back again!!

Great stay

Can't beat the location - close to trails. Very clean - not even cobwebs on the porch! Good layout with lots of space for 2 families. The yard was beautiful - hammocks, fire pit, hot tub! Pool table and arcade game a hit with the kids. Not many windows in the living space, so it feels pretty dark inside so we spent more time on the huge back porch.

Red River Gorge family

Beautiful appointed cabin. Nice, clean and beautifully decorated. Very roomy. We had 6 adults and had plenty of space. View from backyard very nice. Wish it had been a little more secluded. Decor lights in back yard and porch added a lot to atmosphere. RECOMMENDATIONS: Better lighting in kitchen area. Our family loves to cook together and very hard to see. Could have used bigger pots and pans and needed cookie sheets and baking dishes. Plenty of towels and wash cloths available but no dish cloths or dish towels. TV SAID CABLE but you have to use your own internet TV apps. Spent long time trying to figure this out so we could watch UK game.

Great locatio!

We loved our stay. It was very clean and even better than than the pictures showed. The kitchen had everything we needed. It had plenty of space for our two families to stay. There is a huge outdoor space with a hot tub, fire pit, tables and hammocks. There’s a pond behind the house to walk to. The only downside is that all the rooms are right next to the main area and kitchen. There is no insulation for the rooms so there’s no quiet place for people who go to bed early, so if that’s what you need you may need a noise machine. But other than that this is a great house. The location seemed odd to us at first because the entrance seemed like we were in the wrong place. But once we figured it out we loved it. It is really close to Natural Bridge State park and Grays Arch which is what we did during our stay. We ate at Thatchers BBQ while we were there. If you like bbq I highly recommend it. Very good!

Perfect for a getaway

Such an amazing property! Beautifully decorated. Any amenity we needed. Lovely lot with places to explore and relax. Fun game area for family fun. Was just perfect for my family getaway with tons of room If we had more with us. My Only suggestion is more Pictures to show how beautiful it is!! Whether you come to hike or for Some R& R this place was perfection!

Amazing cabin!

Great stay for anyone

Visited the red with a group of climbers, this cabin was awesome for our group. Most of the time was spent climbing but on days when the heat was unbearable, the cabin left us with plenty of activities to occupy us. The owners were friendly and very accommodating. We felt a great sense of community when we had a lot of unopened leftover food and the owners were able to donate it to a neighbor in need. Highly recommend staying here!

Open pretty space

We stayed a week while rock climbing in the gorge and really enjoyed the house. Our favorite thing was the beautiful yard and porch with great porch furniture so we ended up eating meals outside everyday and just sitting together enjoying the view. The owners were great and accommodating. This has been our favorite house so far that we have stayed in while visiting the gorge. Only suggestion would be more hooks to hang things in the bathroom and maybe a washer and dryer in the future but otherwise this was perfect. Hope to return!

Perfect Red River Gorge Lodging

The lodging was very spacious and beautifully decorated. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, Pac Man game, and foosball. The lodging was convenient to all areas of Red River Gorge and had beautiful views from short walks around the building. We would definitely stay at this VRBO again.

Hidden gem!

I almost don’t want to tell people about this place. Walked in and it smelled brand new. We loved the short walks to breathtaking cliffs around the property. Watch your step-we found a copperhead just off the trail. Met the owners while packing up to leave-what am amazing couple! We used the fire pit, arcade game, all the beds and rooms, showers etc. zero complaints. We have much left to explore in RRG and we plan to book this again very soon.

Awesome little gem for the perfect little getaway

We loved this cabin. This was the perfect spot for four couples to ring in the new year! It was so clean and the owners were very inviting and accommodating. The back porch and hot tub were the highlight, as well as the nice Blackstone Grill! We plan to return very soon!

Great Place!

We enjoyed our stay here. highly recommend. The only thing that we thought was unusual was the restroom with 2 toilets side by side. The back porch is awesome, the hot tub is hot, clean and view is great!

Friends Base Camp

We were in the Gorge to do some hiking and wanted a nice place to relax, eat dinner, unwind and plan for the next days adventure. The cabin was perfect for what needed. Plenty of space, very comfortable, just a few minutes from trail access, and a bonus…hot tub to unwind in. We are already planning our next stay and look forward to being back very soon.
