The dump

This place was a total dump. It had an active leak in bathroom ceiling that had clearly been going on a while. Part of the ceiling fell. I contacted the owner but he did not respond. The wall paper in the apartment was tearing off in many places. I’d like some kind of refund

Beware of rodents

Pros: Location is good and central to the train and walking distance to most things in Boston. Cons: There were mice. One woke me up in the middle of the night going through the garbage can and came back an hour later and ran further into the apartment. We were unable to sleep after that. I contacted the host and was told to put food into tightly sealed containers, which I’m sorry I do not travel with. The apartment definitely needs some handy man service and some deep cleaning/dusting. The tiles in the shower are loose and wobbly in need of regrouting. The bed is a full size mattress in a queen size bed frame which makes it difficult and awkward getting in and out. Would not stay here again.

Good location, but...

It's a great spot to stay in the Back Bay, and the bed is really comfortable. But the interior clearly had wear since the posted photos had been taken (years worth), and my partner and I noticed that someone entered the apartment while we were away to retrieve a folding bed without ever contacting us. It was a nice stay but that put us off.

Great location and communication, but unit needs renovations and repairs.

The owners made it easy to check in and communicate with them. One thing we needed was more towels and they told us how to get them ourselves quickly. The location was central and easy. The air conditioner worked well. But the unit has issues in need of repair, and they are not just cosmetic. Wallpaper is peeling, water leaked through the bathroom ceiling and there is mold on the ceiling in a couple places (bedroom and bathroom. The shower door is missing and an inadequate curtain replaces it - allowing water to get out onto the bathroom floor (between that and the ceiling leak, that's why we needed more towels). Even for a budget traveler, I do not believe this unit is up to snuff. I doubt it could pass inspection. A full bed sits on a much-too-large king or queen bedframe, which makes it difficult to move around and is aesthetically messy. The couch others noted has been replaced, so it's fine. The tiles on the shower floor are not grouted, and wobble when stepped on. The shower drain is not attached and moves, and does not cover the entire hole - it's very rough. The entire shower would not pass inspection. The stairs are narrow, and would not be easy for anyone with mobility issues (or anyone with heavy luggage). Fine for us, but people should be aware. The bathroom is quite small (the taller of us sat sideways on the toilet). Trim is missing between bathroom and main room, leaving a sharp toe-stub step. Overall, this unit is not in adequate repair to receive guests.

It's all about location

The location of this property is worth everything! Close to stores, the T, and within walking distance to so many wonderful things! The apartment was clean and had some updates although some not done to the highest standard. The AC drowned out any road noise, and it did not bother us at all. The property manager was amazing replying almost immediately to any need we had. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay in Back Bay!

What a lovely location, easily walkable to the Armory, Boston Public library, Chinatown, and Newmarket street. Very nice and clean accommodations, and would stay there again.

Good location. Not impressive overall

The property is in a great spot for walking downtown. It does not look like it’s pictures inside, though. The stairs are much steeper and narrower than expected making it difficult to navigate with luggage. The upholstery on the couch is peeling off in places. It’s overall not as clean as I would prefer (tiles loose in shower that squish when stepped on, dusty ledges/heat registers, beat up furniture). It also had advertised that there would be shampoo/conditioner. My friend and I had to walk to CVS to purchase what we needed. Also said there was a wash machine and wasn’t. Place was fine for a friends trip, but not somewhere I’d stay with a significant other.

Decent but noisy

Three stars given as very noisy location. Property is adjacent to interstate and train. Otherwise property was as listed. Property management amazing and very quick to respond no matter what time of day.
