About this property

Nature at its best

Cabin in the woods....fishing, hunting, ORV, hiking, snowmobile riding, cross country skiing, and the list goes on.

This is a year around cabin on 7 acres with 1000s of acres of federal land (Manistee National Forest) on 2 sides of the property. The cabin sleeps 7 comfortably, 1 bedroom has a queen bed, another bedroom has bunk bed with twin on top and a full on bottom, and the loft has another queen bed. The kitchen is open to the great room that has a pellet stove as a second source of heat for the home plus the cozy feel of a fire. There is a full bath on the main floor and a half bathroom in the loft. Washer/dryer is also available in the loft. This home also has a three season porches in front and a four season room in the back to enjoy during your stay. For additional sleeping there is a queen sleeper sofa in the four season room. Also in the living room there is a small couch that folds out to a bed if needed.

If you enjoy fishing, you will want to check out Pere Marquette River which is just down the road (Rainbow Rapids is one of many access points). The river is known for salmon, trout, rainbow trout and big brown. Kayaking or canoeing is also a fun way to enjoy the beautiful river.

Hiking through the woods is a wonderful way to enjoy the day. There is also a dog sled trail behind the cabin. You can also cross country skiing or snowshoeing in the winter.

If you like to ORV...the trailhead is on Sterns Road and near the cabin

Family vacation

Everything was as listen and location was perfect. So peaceful and lots of land for kids to run around. Only complaint i have is the wall fan upstairs didnt work,but we made due. Also stove was dirty (with grease) and found clumps of dog hair all over. Which i just cleaned up. No biggie to me but might to othrs

Great Private Location for OHV

This is an excellent location if you're in the area for OHV riding. The home is in a remote location surrounded by woods. Easy check in and very clean. Three bedrooms with comfortable rooms. A bathroom on each floor. A sunroom that is a great spot to sit and relax and watch TV or eat a meal with the family. Kitchen, sitting area and living room all together, which is another place to watch TV. Furniture extremely comfortable. Propane grill for outdoor cooking. Fire pit on the property. OHV trails located a short ride down the road. No trailering needed. Very quiet and no neighbors in site. Bring bug spray, while mosquitos not a problem, lots of gnats. That's to be expected, you're in the forest. Over all, a great stay.

Cabin retreat

It's a cabin tucked in the cover of the woods. Definitely a discreet peacefully place to rest at. Hardly anyone is seen for hours. If you want to relax in peace and quiet this is the cabin to be at!!!

Christmas get together

It is a great place for a family getaway. Spent Christmas with my family and it was perfect. Looking forward to get to plan a trip over the summer. Definitely would stay here again. Clean and beautiful property.

Peaceful Retreat

What a darling cabin surrounded by woods. Everything was comfortable and we felt at home, especially enjoyed the back porch! Very peaceful and away from every day noise. Lots of wildlife, even had a few deer visit. Spent the evenings by the fire, the cabin is a perfect place for star gazing since it's away from city lights. Would definitely stay again!

Thought there were 5 beds 5th bed was big enough for a 5 foot person. How you sleep 10 i have no idea as to where the beds were. Bunk beds are hard to get out of the top bunk.

Baldwin Retreat

Well appointed on private lot near the PM River. Great place for hunting or fishing excursions, or trail riding or hiking. 30 minutes to Ludington, Manistee or about 40 to the dunes. Great hosts.

Great Private home away from home

This Cabin is both spacious and cozy. The four seasons room is beautiful. They provide everything you need for an enjoyable vacation. *Only two small notes for future renters: the upstairs bedroom gets very hot in the summer so we had to use extra fans from other places in the cabin. And there is only one dresser in one of the bedrooms for the entire cabin so unpacking for a weeks stay with kids (or multiple People) wasn’t really possible unless we did piles of clothes on the floor. Overall we had a wonderful stay!

Enjoyed our trip with our dog. Gravel/sand roads were a bit rougher than I had expected but didn’t have any issues getting around. House was very clean and had everything we needed. Brenda is very responsive and a wonderful host!

Perfect home, great location.

We spent 10 days at Brenda’s house. This home was clean and well up kept. We enjoyed the privacy, steaks on the grill, bonfires, the wildlife, walking through the woods, nice trails nearby, very quiet and peaceful, yet not too far from town. The 4 season porch was used daily. We highly recommend Brenda’s house, we hope to come back next year.

I am married with 3 kids that are growing up so fast. We live out in the country with 2 dogs. At one point we had cattle, hogs, goats, and chickens. Now that the kids are older we do more traveling and maintain our rental properties.

My husband and I went to Baldwin on our first date....do I need to say anymore : ) We had a wonderful and when the opportunity came to buy this cabin years later we could not resist. Come for a visit and you might fall in love too...

What makes this property unique

There is so much to do or you can take time to just sit back and relax with nature all around you. We have a blast here at the cabin when we have an action pack day out on the ORV trails, snowmobiling/skiing, or in the Pere Marquette River, or hiking in the woods, or cuddle up on the couch in the cabin. It is a wonderful place for couples, families, or for groups of friends.
