Walk to the free shuttle to the slopes from this two-bedroom, two-bath condo in West Vail. After a day skiing or hiking, you’ll love the six-person shared hot tub on the wrap-around deck under the pines. You’ll find this home, part of a triplex, up a short, sloping, heated driveway. Park in the east garage with a washer and dryer, on the left. A second car fits just outside the garage. Climb the wooden staircase to your right to the outside patio with a six-person shared hot tub, grill, and patio table with chairs, perfect for evening relaxation.

The condo’s door, labeled “Mountain Side,” leads into a long kitchen with tile floors. There’s a coat and a shoe rack for storing your summer or winter outdoor wear. The gleaming white appliances, including an electric stove with a glass stove-top, are updated and just right for preparing a full meal after a day of adventure. Just off the kitchen is a cozy bedroom with a queen bed, and the first-floor bathroom with a shower, convenient for a quick warm-up after the slopes.

As you walk further into the condo, you enter the dining and living rooms. The dark wooden dining table can seat six under exposed wooden beams and an elegant chandelier. A large L-shaped sectional sleeper sofa in the living room has room for everyone to relax. Watch your favorite Blu-ray movies on a 36-inch TV with cable. In summer, open the door to the deck for fresh evening air.

From a small set of carpeted stairs off the living room, you can access the second floor. The primary bedroom on the right has a king-size bed under a charming slanted A-frame ceiling. You’ve got your own TV with cable and an amazing view. The main landing has an extra twin futon mattress for an additional guest, plus plenty of closet space. You can store your luggage and feel right at home. The second-floor bathroom has a tub/shower combo with stunning blue tile and glass block for adding light but retaining privacy. Outside, a long wooden back deck wraps around the triplex, with some padded chairs just outside your living room door for a conversation in the pine-scented air.

The free Vail bus shuttle stops only a three-minute walk from the condo. With a free shuttle running every 15 minutes, you won’t have to wait long to get to Cascade Lift, Lion’s Head, or Vail Village. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the region’s famed ski runs, while those who prefer the indoors can shop or go to a spa in Vail Village, which has both gourmet restaurants and casual eats. Closer to home, you’re a quick walk from Gore Creek, which has great rapids for kayaking, a children’s playground, fishing, and sledding.

Great for the Younger Crowd
The property was great for the price. When you arrive you will need to deal with a few details like moving the trash cans inside the garage so you can park vehicle. The downstairs room has very little space around the bed for any luggage... we kept it in the large kitchen. The stairs leading up to master room are steep and not for the older crowd. There is only one large window in the room which is fine at night... but there is no window in the bathroom so you will need to place fan next to door to keep from sweating after a midday shower. A 2nd window here would truly do wonders to cool the upstairs immensely during the day. Lots of appliances and kitchen stuff but don't forget to buy ice. TV was great and the dining /living room is large. Awesome outdoor deck.... overall We liked it, great value.

Weekend in West Vail
Good location near to Vail Village. Parking at condo was problematic due to multiple cars in garage and on driveway . Steep Slope driveway . Coordinate required with other tenants to move cars in and out. Clean spacious kitchen; top bedroom gets hot and tough to cool down. Backyard lights cannot turn off, shine through bedroom window.

Location, location, location
Convenient location for a work week-end at Vail Health at a reasonable day rate. Well stocked kitchen with modern appliances. TV was a little small but adequate. Multiple thermostats were a little confusing, especially when staying in the first floor guest room. Still had a cozy, well-maintained atmosphere with most, if not all of our needs met. Driveway is a challenge, as is parking. Good thing we didn't have to use the garage (keypad didn't work) or arrange three vehicle side-by-side. All-in-all, wouldn't hesitate to return.

Nice place
This place was very accommodating, the parking wasn’t the best though and there are a few outlets upstairs that didn’t work. Loved the hot tub though!

Tired But Reliable Plow Horse
If you're okay with basic accommodations with an emphasis on functionality, the Mountainside at Vail is a good option. Big kitchen in which to cook, gathering space, and a bed for your head. We were not provided an accurate Door Lock Code and were unable to access Mountainside until almost 10pm on the first night of our 2-night stay. Customer service was slow and obtuse. In the range of all things required for a successful stay, providing access to the lodging I've reserved and paid for is at the BASIC end of the "value chain." 100% fail. Based on this experience with Vacasa, I will avoid properties that I know are managed by this company if I can discern that before making a reservation commitment via VRBO.

Location!
Location was perfect! Easy to catch the bus to get to Vail ski resort. The house was a nice set-up, but could use some maintenance. Multiple light bulbs needed to be replaced, batteries for the remote controls needed to be replaced, doors and floorboards were filthy. The code we were given for the door did not work. Fortunately, there was a Vacasa rep that was able to help us on the phone, but we were stuck out in the cold for 30-45 minutes before we could get into the house. There were only 2 coffee cups that we had to share amongst the 4 of us, but there was a microwave for each one! (There were 2 microwaves). A rug at the door would have been nice. We bought a towel to use as a rug so that we didn’t drag snow inside. There were extra pillows, but no pillowcases. The driveway is heated, which was fantastic that we didn’t need to shovel snow, but parking was a problem. The listing says 3 cars can park across the driveway, but it is a very tight fit. We had to speak to the other guests every day to ask them to move their cars over, so that we could park our vehicle. The hot tub was nice. It is shared with the other 2 units in the house, but it’s plenty big enough to share with neighbors and it was clean. There was fresh snow and awesome ski conditions, overall it was a great vacation.

Ski weekend
When we arrived at the property the code we received did not work. We were able to get in touch with someone immediately and were given more codes to try with no avail. There was key in the lockbox that we were able to use though. The property was clean but just a bit older and in need of a few minor upgrades. There were two additional units included in the property and when we returned from town our parking spot was occupied by one of the three vehicles that one of the other units had with them. So, parking was a bit of an issue during the length of our stay. That was not by any fault of the property management. Over all we had a great stay and the communication with management was timely and helpful.

Big house , little bit hard to warm up.
Good house for bigger groups. Parking garage where the washer /dryer is not working as the code or clicker for the garage is not working. Same problem at this rental as 3 weeks ago. Vicasa did not help.

3 nights in Vail
We stayed during 3 night 6 adults. One of the rooms was cold and we contacted the owner and they gave us extra blankets. Every time we contacted them they were friendly and ready to help. The bus running to town is a big plus.

Steal for the price and location! Would come back.
My group loved renting this property for 12 days. There are two full bedrooms, and a fantastic pullout couch while made for easy sleeping arrangements. Fully stocked kitchen, hot tub works great, and such an easy walk to the west vail bus. Would come back.
