About this property

Desert Solitaire ~ Hiking and Mountain Biking Paradise

This beautiful 27 ft. 5th wheel has everything you need for your home away from home. A fully stocked kitchen, basic pantry needs, tv and comfy beds are just a few of the deluxe amenities we offer. The outdoor grill, camp chairs and fire pit all help to make this the perfect camping getaway! When you have finished hiking or mountain biking on the 50 Year Trail or Catalina State Park, your restful abode will be waiting. We live on the property and will be available to help in any way we can, however, we will certainly respect your privacy and not intrude upon your area. Our location is in a beautiful valley and while that means you will have gorgeous views, quiet solitude, desert wildlife…. you may experience spotty cell service, depending on your carrier. The unit does come equipped with a booster, and we are able to utilize our WiFi. There are coffee shops nearby if you find that you need better connections. Our place is more suited to people that are looking to unplug and relax in nature. You will need to obtain an Arizona State Lands permit to utilize the trails, which you can do online.

Wonderful Warmth
Jamie and Kevin were very welcoming and gracious hosts. The camper was well equipped and very comfortable. The location away from town in the desert was ideal for us- we felt like we were in nature the minute we stepped out the door, yet there was easy access to things we wanted to see. Jamie and Kevin gave good recommendations for things nearby. It was a great break from Minnesota’s cold weather.

Peaceful and relaxing!
My husband and I had a great relaxing time staying in the RV. Jamie and Kevin were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. The RV was in a great location, very quiet but an easy 10 minute drive in to town. Definitely would recommend if you’re looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway! The RV was very clean and stocked with all essentials.

Desert Solitude-Perfect
Our stay at Desert Solitude was excellent and met our expecations. It was miles away from the city, dark sky nights and nestled up against the Copper Mountains and Santa Catalina Park. The "5th wheel" was new and impeccably clean with all the necessities need for stay.

Fun weekend getaway!
Jamie and Kevin are great hosts– my friend and I felt as if they were our long, lost grandparents :) The camper is located behind their house– it was spacious, accommodating, and clean. The mountains in the background are breathtaking. Would stay again!

SuperHosts!
From the moment we received our reservation confirmation I knew Jamie and Kevin were going to be those people that are put in the path of your life, and they were! So helpful, so accommodating and just wanting us to have a good experience. We loved the out of the wayness their 5th wheel offered us as we discovered Tucson and enjoyed relaxing at the property soaking in the view. The 5th wheeler was stocked with everything we needed and was very comfortable, right down to the “fireplace”! Don’t hesitate to book this adorable property and meet these super hosts!

Exclusive, intimate & adventurous
My Husband and I came from the East coast to experience something different and exciting and found exactly that. Our hosts, Kevin and Jamie were amazing. Together, they ensured a positive experience. The camper was clean, modern, and filled with all the every day amenities you would need to have for a comfortable stay. They gave us tons of insight on different places to visit. They treated us like family and made us feel so welcome. The property was beautiful with a view of the mountains just far enough out of town to be secluded but just miles to all the shopping centers and restaurants surrounded by cozy and quaint beautiful little neighborhoods. We travel quite often, and we both agree, that this has been our favorites so far. Thank you Kevin & Jamie for such wonderful hospitality! We will be back! Demetrius & Virginia
