The Sled Shed was fantastic yet again. This was our third year staying here during the winter. The drive is a pull through, and even with 2 trucks and 2 large snowmobile trailers there was plenty of room. The house was in excellent condition again and there were no issues. The owners are fantastic!!
We loved the house, the location and ease of communication with the host! We enjoyed the house, and felt right at home. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking, which we all like to do.
We arrived during a big snowstorm, the house was cozy and inviting after coming in from the weather. The location was perfect for accessing snowmobile trails, restaurants and a grocery store. The house itself was equipped with everything you need. The pictures accurately represent the house. We would definitely stay here again.
Place was a great setup for snowmobiling. Everything needed was provided. Only a couple blocks from a gas station and the trail. Plenty of parking for a truck and small trailer. Could easily accommodate a 4 place trailer. Great place to stay if snowmobiling!
Newberry was our “hub” to visit so many sites in eastern UP. From waterfalls to lighthouses to beaches to historic sites. And even a lingering monarch butterfly that hadn’t migrated south yet.
This property is everything it claims to be! A full kitchen; lots of beds; comfortable. No doubt a great place for everyone and their “toys”!
First, I want to start my review with the fact that this home was very clean and thoughtfully supplied with the necessary items needed when staying at a home away from home. It is conveniently located in Newberry just 2 blocks from the center of town. Has a nice back yard with a welcoming firepit. With that said, I feel prospective renters should be aware that the “bonus room” is located upstairs which requires navigating some steep (in my opinion) and narrow stairs. Also, the washer and dryer are in the basement, again, requiring going down steep and narrow steps. Both of these situations would not be favorable for those with mobility issues or older folks, like my husband and I. Fortunately, it was just the two of us and we used the main level bedroom and bathroom. Ultimately, my husband and I WOULD consider staying here again if it was only the two of us. The lack of information regarding ease of accessibility mentioned above is the only reason we rated 4 stars. If it weren't for those issues we would have given this property 5's across the board.
We planned to stay here because it was central for everything we had planned. Rhonda and Paige have done a great job with the place and we all loved it, even our pup! Thank you ladies, we had such a great trip!
We came up to the Newberry area with our SXS group for two days of great adventures. We needed a place to stay and found this awesome home. Was only a 3 minute drive from some of the group. Couldnt ask for a better place to stay!! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Next time we come up we will definitely be on the lookout for this wonderful home.
We really enjoyed our stay. This cute home was a perfect central location for all our daily outings! Would definitely stay again if we were in the area.
Very cozy, conveniently located at least for us, it was an hour or less of a drive to everything we wanted to do no matter which direction we went. Boat tours, museums, falls, lighthouses. We highly enjoyed our stay and our daily visits from binks, the neighbor 🐈.
Our family of 4 stayed at this house for a short getaway to ride the trails around Newberry. The location has easy access to the trails by sled, as well as a gas station. Being in town, restaurants and grocery stores are nearby and available. The way the driveway is situated makes it easy to pull your trailer in for loading and unloading your equipment. The house was cozy and there was a nice mud room off the back for all your gear. The host was responsive and accommodating. We would stay here again!
Visited this property for a snowmobile weekend with family. Owner was very responsive and helpful. Easy access to the snowmobile trail system. This place leaves you feeling like its your second home! Plenty of parking for trucks and trailers. Important to note for a first time visitor that there is access to an alley behind the home that allows for easy in and out access. Really enjoyed our stay and would return and recommend. Thanks Rhonda!
We stayed for 4 nights along with our dogs. We really appreciate places that are dog friendly as we love to take them hiking. The Sled Shed looks small from the front but actually has a nice layout inside. The kitchen had everything we needed and the furniture was very comfortable. The neighborhood was quiet. It was an easy drive to Tahquamenon, Whitefish Point, Seney and Pictured Rocks (Munising and east). Highly recommend- we had a great time.
We enjoyed our stay at the sled shed. Newberry is a cute little town and has everything you need. The house was clean and well maintained. We did not need to use the upstairs, but I imagine it might get a little cold up there (we did not bother to even look for a heater since we didn't use it). We enjoyed relaxing and watching a few movies (provided in the entertainment center). Would recommended and stay here again.
