The 1/2 mi. drive often provides excellent wildlife viewing and may lead you a million miles from Monday. When you reach the home, parking is no problem (plenty of space). As you enter, the custom cedar is the most noticeable feature. The living area to the right has comfortable seating and a HD flat screen TV. The dining area is open to both the kitchen and living areas. The table seats 8 or 10 good friends with an additional 3 counter seats. The fully equipped kitchen has lots of counter space, coffee and spices for home cooked meals. The master bedroom has a 32 inch TV and a king bed, . Upstairs there is a twin bedroom with trundle and another with a queen bed .The loft has a daybed and large game table with leather chairs..The basement has a pool table, foosball, and a big screen TV with a DVD player and DISH TV
Outside there is a hot tub on one of the decks with rockers provided for the usually excellent stargazing. In the yard the fire pit has some wood provided.

Shopping/Churches: The area has many of the national chains, including most restaurants, Wal Mart, and Lowes within 20 miles. The big store in town is Green Front Furniture in Farmville which occupies 12 huge warehouses with upscale items from around the world. Numerous antique and flea markets dot the area and an auction or estate sale occurs almost every weekend. Lynchburg is about 40 miles to the West and Richmond is about 70 miles to the East.
There is a large Amish population in the area and churches of most denominations are close by. The biggest of them being the Thomas Road Baptist in Lynchburg..
Nature: Deer and turkeys are plentiful and often seen from the decks or on the driveway. Rabbits and squirrels are also in the area. Birds from the occasional eagle or hawk to sparrows can be seen. Much more rare are bear and fox sightings.
The home is quiet inside and outside except for the sounds of nature.
The night sky is a treat for city dwellers. No man made lights can be seen from the rear deck and our own spiral galaxy, the Milky Way, is often visible as a faint band of light across the sky.
The 34 Mile High Bridge Trail is open to horses, walkers and non motorized bikes. It follows the old Norfolk & Western rail route through Farmville and over the Appomattox River as part of the rails to trails program. The trail's Western end is in Pamplin VA about 3 miles from the house. An easy horse ride on marked roads.
Relaxation: The comfortable beds are nice but the jetted tubs and the outdoor hot tub can help even the most stressed traveler. Even in the depths of winter it is worth a short sprint across the rear deck to experience the bubbles and water of the 98-104 degree jets.(easily adjusted to your liking)
