Great stay

My stay at this house was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the beauty of the surroundings and the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The house was spotless and well-equipped with everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. I spent my mornings sipping coffee on the porch, taking in the peaceful views. The location is perfect for those looking to unplug and reconnect with nature, with plenty of trails and outdoor activities nearby at Acadia National Park. Overall, it was the perfect getaway for the family.

Lakeside retreat

Perfect location for fun on the water

Our blended family had a great time here. The house was equipped with everything we needed. The hosts left s’mores supplies, which was a huge hit with the kids. We love to spend time on the water and enjoyed the kayaks, canoe and paddle board that the hosts allowed us to use.

"Best vacation ever"

"Best vacation ever" were the exact words my husband said as we were packing up. This was our first time visiting Maine and this house was everything we needed and more. Everything was clean, matched the description and pictures exactly, and all my questions were answered within a few minutes. The waterfront location was perfect for swimming, kayaking, or simply sitting and watching the ducks and loons. The location of the house was ideal for day trips to the surrounding areas of Maine- Acadia, Camden, Belfast, and a number of state parks. Thank you so much for the giving us the best vacation ever!

Lake Living

We had a great time and found all the comforts of home. Great wildlife, easy access to activities and Acadia, and just a relaxing lake stay. The water was warm, kayak and paddle board kept us busy, and great enclosed porch to enjoy the views. We would recommend this property and found the hosts to be excellent.

Fall stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this location. Our daughter goes to a local college, and we came up for parents' weekend. The lake was a perfect mirror reflection when we took the canoe and kayaks out on our first day. The loons greeted us every day and we even saw one of them catch a fish! Our thanks to the Bishops for returning something we left behind very quickly. It was a very comfortable environment to relax.

Perfect family vacation

Our family of four stayed here. We had a wonderful time. The cottage is so cozy and charming. The kids spent much of the time enjoying the lake and the beautiful scenery. Just a fabulous time for everyone. Stay here. You won’t regret it!

Coziest Cabin you will ever encounter!

This property was a grand slam! 1. Location. Acadia and Bar Harbor are a reasonable and pleasant drive away, Ellsworth and Bucksport as well. 2. Accommodation. Coziest cabin you will ever encounter, with a three season room, a dock, kayaks, clean and comfortable beds. 3. Nature. Brewer Lake is beautiful amazing scenery that included loons, ducks, a chipmunk or two and even an otter. We loved our time here and the hosts were great.

Brewer Lake vacation

We enjoyed four days of beautiful Maine weather at this lovely cabin right on Brewer Lake. The house was extremely clean and well-provisioned, and accommodated our family group of six (three generations) well. We particularly enjoyed the kayaks and the canoe. We saw multiple loons up close while paddling and heard many more, especially at dusk. The nearby Audubon Center was an added bonus.

Cottage on Brewer Lake

Every year we rent a lake house for a week. This was the most beautiful lake we have stayed at so far. The water was beautiful and we saw so many loons. The cottage was ideal and we loved hanging out on the dock, kayaking and being inspired to paint and draw the lovely scenery. It was fun to explore Bangir as well. Perfect week get away!

So serene

Such a beautiful cabin. We loved playing on the lake and just watching the wild life. About 1.5hr from Bar Harbor and Acadia or shopping in Camden and Belfast. Enjoyed having a full kitchen to make lunch and dinner or the laundry machine to wash laundry. The girls loved taking the paddleboard and kayak around the lake. Even took an early morning kayak ride around the islands to explore. We will definitely be back.

Long weekend

For us its all about the lake. Once we arrived we didn’t leave until it was check out time. The weather and water temp were perfect. The cottage was clean and welcoming.

Beautiful cottage and lake = a small piece of Heaven

I had stayed at this cottage with my mom last year, and we both loved it so much. It’s quiet, clean, beautiful (the TWO wrap-around-the-back porches, one enclosed and one open) are AWESOME and have great views of the lake. I returned myself for a second stay this year and loved it again. I was looking for some peace and healing, and definitely found it here, as my mom did last year. I was able to kayak up and down Brewer Lake (which is beautiful and will always hold a special place in my heart after these two trips); sit on the porches and read, pray, look at the water (and the loons!), etc.; I loved the Adirondack chairs down by the docks for this, too; I was able to easily swim off the dock and rest in the sun on the floating platform; and at night, I was able to settle into their cozy living room and the TV is fully set up for any of your favorite streaming services you have your own accounts for already and I enjoyed staying current with a couple of my favorite shows, too (reading in there was cozy, also). Everything here was wonderful and I was sad when my last night came. I left rested, recharged, at peace, and with more wonderful memories I will always carry with me. (Acadia National Park is also an easy day trip from here and I highly recommend it). The hosts are incredibly responsive and kind: they even left me a sympathy card because they knew I was traveling alone this year and was using the trip mainly to reflect and reminisce.

Just Amazing! Wish I could give 10 stars

For once the cabin pictures under promised and on site over delivered. I have been renting cabins in Bangor area for the last 11 years to see the in laws and this cabin is the best ever. Everything was just…nice, the cleanliness, the decor, the furniture, the kayaks, the landscaping, you name it. The location felt like it was off the beaten path yet it was minutes to Brewer or Orrington for dinner and groceries. The sun room wraps around the front and side which makes the cabin so roomy. It was so relaxing to sit in the sunroom and view at the lake, while the kids played in the water. We had a duck family and some loons that hung around that the kids loved (us adults loved hearing the loons as well). Most of our visits, my family and I try to plan excursions, since the cabins have disappointed. This time we cancelled a couple day trips to enjoy the property. I have never rented the same place twice, but that will change with this location. Communication with Todd was top-notch, we can’t wait to return next year - my wife’s family and my daughter insisted we rent this place again.

The perfect Maine Cottage

We stayed at this cottage from June 10th to 17th. This was a true Maine camp experience on a beautiful lake. The cottage was clean, stocked and well cared for. The deck with it's view of the lake was our coffee spot in the morning while watching the loons. The kayaks were a great way to explore the lake and the day that we took the pontoon boat out was absolutely perfect. All in all this is a beautiful piece of property with wonderful hosts, if I could I would give it 6 stars.

Perfect Lake Getaway

We stayed at Mr. and Mrs. Bishop’s Brewer Lake cottage at the end of May 2023. Everything was clean and fresh, decorated comfortably, yet still had that low-key, good-ol’-days vibe. Our family of 6 absolutely loved our stay away from the hustle and bustle of life! It was perfect to slow down and take advantage of the kayaks, canoe, and even the pontoon boat. Everything we needed, and easy access, was a dream. A quick stop at a grocery just about 15 minutes away made planning for meals a breeze. The washer/dryer helped us stay on track of laundry for the week. On the lake, we loved watching the loons, ducks, and even saw a bald Eagle sitting near its nest on the island in the middle of the lake! We also enjoyed fishing off the dock and pontoon. For the days we wanted to get out, Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor were a pleasant hour drive away and just absolutely breathtaking!!! We DEFINITELY recommend this lovely place for anyone!! Bonus, Mr. and Mrs. Bishop were so kind to communicate with, available, and helpful every step of the way. We unfortunately had a dental emergency with one of our children and they were so gracious to help us get in contact with just the right people! Shout out to Dr. Rand at Watermark Dental and Dr. Wright at Downeast Dental!!
