The holiday home "La Garrigue" stands on a huge plot of over 17,000 m² and is therefore ideally suited to allow children to develop freely - however open fire is strictly prohibited. Scattered in the landscape are some neighboring houses, far enough away to experience real silence. It is at least 80 m to the next house and 800 m to the country road. Built at the end of the 1970s, it is no longer very young and is nevertheless equipped with modern building technology. There are 2 bedrooms available, one with a separate sink. Both are equipped with double beds (separate mattresses). In the living room there is a pull-out sofa that can be used as a bed for 2 more people. All necessary cooking and household utensils as well as spices and cleaning agents are available.
A narrow, serpentine road (D 56) leads from the village of Siran to the "Curiosité de l'Auriole". After 6 km, shortly after the Curiosité, an unpaved path turns left into the Garrigue, the typical vegetation of the Languedocs. Here "La Garrigue" awaits you with an impressive distant view over the Minervois and the Corbières to the Pyrenees.
Siran, a tranquil wine-growing village with 700 inhabitants, lies at the foot of the Montagne Noire. In addition to the bakery, grocery and post office, you will find 3 restaurants here. 5 km away is a large swimming lake where you can also surf. It is just as far to supermarkets. The area is known as the land of the Cathars with the great monuments Quéribus, Peyrepertuse and many more. It is not far to the Pyrenees and Spain, and Barcelona is 3 hours away by car. Excursions to Minerve (namesake of the Minervois, 10 km), the world cultural heritage Canal du Midi (15 km) and the Cité de Carcassonne (35 km) are considered almost indispensable.
