Enjoyed our stay here immensely. The home was clean, comfortable, nice quiet location (although we had to deal with some construction noise that is NOT a normal occurrence so no reflection on the owners) Nice well stocked kitchen, but we were only here for short stay and didn't cook a meal there. We did cook on the grill and that worked fine. Kellye is a great host, always available, and encouraged us to come out and enjoy the sunsets which were beautiful. We originally booked this home for a family reunion for 5 aging siblings. Unfortunately 3 sisters could not make it so was just my brother and I. The place might have been a little crowded had all 5 of us been there but was perfect for the 2 of us and would be fine for more. I love the area and would love to return here.

This place is great, we'll definitely stay there again the next time we visit Michigan Adventure.
Shipwatch was everything we wanted in a family rental. It was just big enough for our family of five. Things were thought out and the extra treats, gas grill and campfire supplies were great. We would love to visit again!
Beautiful property (fully stocked), attentive hosts, plenty to do and see, beaches were always perfect and plenty to choose from!
We did encounter some technical difficulties, completely out of their control. The hosts, and VRBO, were very accommodating to get us through and everything ended up just fine.
Overall, a beautiful time away to see more of what Michigan offers.
Husband and I stayed at the Shipwatch Cottage 7/8/24 to 7/12/24.
The property was immaculate inside and out and was equipped with really anything you might need or could want. Also, the WIFI was fast and solid. Perfect for a rain day.
The property is surrounded by woodlands and as advertised, has a stupendous Lake Michigan view. It is easy to get to and from with good roads all around yet very, very peaceful and quiet.
The property owners were very cordial and made every effort to ensure that we lacked nothing during our stay. In addition to the printed directory of attractions, activities, beaches, etc. located in the cottage, the owners provided their personal take on things to do in the area. Very helpful!
All-in-all, we felt this property was by far the best we have stayed at in roughly 10 years of exploring western Michigan. We highly recommend the Shipwatch Cottage and offer our thanks to Kellye & Bill.
We had the absolute best time. Great location. Hosts made us feel right at home, were super friendly, and very accommodating. Kids loved the stocked S'mores basket and supplied firewood. We will be booking here again in the future.
Everything was perfect and then some. The host went out of her way to make sure everything was as we needed. She even called during a storm and offered to bring down their generator if the power went out. We will be back!
The location is fantastic!! The scenery is beautiful!!! The cabin is exactly as advertised and more! Lots o’ little touches that make you feel relaxed and at home.😌 And definitely the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO we’ve stayed at! Definitely be back next year!!!!😁
My husband, two young kids and I had a great time staying at the Shipwatch Cottage! Kellye was a great host, answered any questions we had and gave us fun ideas of things to do in the area. The house was very clean and comfortable. Overall we had a great time.
I absolutely adored this cottage. I was looking for a place to rest and recharge and boy was this it!! The cottage has everything you need and I especially appreciated the hosts attention to detail. The art and whimsy was also lovely. My memories of sitting in the white chairs on the bluff watching the sunset and butterflies will stay with me forever. Amazing place.

This property was great and we hope to stay there again in the future!
My family of 4 so enjoyed our stay at Shipwatch! We spent our days at Duck Lake Beach (<5 minute drive), Pere Marquette Beach (30 minute drive), and Muskegon State Park Beach (10 minute drive) and enjoyed sunsets, s'mores, and board games in the evenings back at the house! Groceries, etc are about 15-20 minutes away in Muskegon. From the moment we booked and received a great list of recommendations for the area from Kellye, to her texts just checking in during our stay, communication was open, friendly, and kind. We would definitely stay here again!
The host went above and beyond in providing a welcoming environment and so many options for area activities. The house was clean and well maintained and stocked. We thoroughly enjoyed our morning walks down the short driveway to the lake where we could sit and relax. While the beach is not accessible from the property, there are so many options within a short radius. I would highly recommend this property and host. Fair warning - have your directions available in a screenshot or printed version. There is no mobile reception for a short area around the house. The house has wi-fi and I was able to work from it and transferred all calls to wi-fi while there. Before leaving, we would open Waze and screenshot directions - just in case the signal was lost. We had no issues using this workaround. 5 out of 5 stars for the host, location, and house.
The cottage was wonderful: well appointed, clean, comfortable, with full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms (we only used one), and full bath. Tall, tall trees outside, and so quiet. Owner was gracious and accommodating, and could not have been nicer.
Small but nice place with thoughtful hosts. It's a guest house down the driveway from a main house. There's a great view of the lake if you walk past the main house (though no access down to the beach/water). We appreciated the s'mores fixings that were provided and the swingset for the kids.
Perfect getaway for family with little children. Big yard with play set, within a few miles of beach
This was the easiest rental I have been a part of. The owner was fantastic & great to work with. Cottage was clean & stocked with essentials. Beaches are a few miles away. Great town, great atmosphere, great food at Russ’s and amazing views of the sunset. We will be back again!

Shipwatch was a cozy retreat for my 3 friends and I. The house was far enough from the road and away from other structures so it feels private and wooded.
We made meals in the kitchen, sat along side the lake and outside near the fire pit. What a gorgeous spot of Michigan! We loved it and will come back again and again!
This is a beautiful property with stunning lake views! Kellye was wonderful to work with and attentive to our needs especially when we wanted to stay an extra day! It's close to Duck Lake Beach and had everything we needed. We loved the fire pit and enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets! A perfect place to stay!!
Kelly was an amazing host! From communication ahead of time to shipping our phone back to us that we accidentally left there. The cabin is super cute and well stocked. We had a great time relaxing at the lake and exploring the area. We'll definitely be back!
Cabin was clean, cozy, and stocked with supplies, including wood kindling needed for a bonfire. Beautiful lookout for sunsets right on the water and close to multiple beaches, the state park, and Muskegon. Kellye easy to get in touch with and overall a great host. Would stay here again!
