There was no pool which was listed on VRBO and there was no AC in the main portion of the house and bathroom. The host let us know there was construction going on on site but wouldn't mess with our stay. The pounding and chainsaw started at 9am and didnt stop until 5pm. Bottom bunk is falling apart and held up by bricks. There was beer cans left is fridge fron stay before. But, even with all that the terrace and views were amazing. If you dont like bugs this isnt for you. But, if your down to earth and enjoy stunning views you’ll like this place. The drive up is tight and a bit scary but take your time youll be fine.
Check in process was easy. The roads in this area are challenging to drive - steep hills, windy roads. But we had a kia forte sedan and were 100% fine and got here with no problem, despite flight delays that meant we didn't get in till almost midnight. The house is tidy, basic, and clean. The view from the massive, gorgeous porch is to die for. The kitchen is small, but we were able to make all meals for a family of 4 no problem. Felt very safe in the home as there was a large locking gate and covered parking. AC in each bedroom was perfect, and the rest of the house stayed cool enough to be comfortable despite the hot days. This was a perfect launching off point to visit El Yunque, Culebra or Vieques, Loquillo, Seven Seas, and more. Owner very responsive and helpful. Highly recommend if you are looking for something very affordable, off the beaten path, and in a real neighborhood, not a fancy resort!
My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 11 and 8) thoroughly enjoyed our time at this property! As noted, it is somewhat bare bones -- but that is more than fine as we did not spend time here during the day. We did however enjoy daily sunrises and wonderful evenings listening to coqui and other rainforest sounds. The house had enough of what we needed, and the veranda makes it worth the stay alone!! Jose was incredibly available as a host -- answered very timely by phone or text with any questions. All in all, we loved our time here and have already recommended to others -- this trip holds a special place in our hearts, thanks in large part to this property!
Great view, comfortable with dependable electricity & internet
The house is located on a ridge above Fajardo with a great view from the back porch and cooling breeze. The electricity is reliable thanks to a solar system. The owner quickly fixed the electricity problem of the first night by removing a burned out surge protector from the roof. The house was not easy to find because despite having a pin dropped on Google Maps by the owner, Google Maps couldn't find it (others suggest Apple Maps). The owner was very responsive and gave us directions to find the house. Had trouble the first night opening the gate because, unknown to the owner, a previous guest had bent the gate with their car. They came out very early the next morning and fixed the gate beautifully when contacted via the message system. The house is up a narrow road with a very steep hill, and one of the turns to reach that road has a steep dropoff where our car (and by the marks on the road, many others) bottomed out, so recommend vehicles with high clearance or great caution. We were working on the internet during our stay, and greatly appreciated having reliable electricity and fast, reliable internet. The bedroom was also quiet for sleeping. The beds were soft and comfortable, but all but one pillow was neck-strainingly thick (could use more diversity). There were no top/flat sheets in the house - which the owner fixted the next day. There was no instruction manual at the house and there should be (nice to include restaurant recommendations in it also). Jose was great!
The owner should suggest the type of vehicle due to the extremely steep hill. The house was not clean, there was a roof leak in the bedroom with the twin beds we slept on the floor with the mattress. No place to hang your clothes, we use nails that were along the walls to hang some of the clothes, we only used the pool once due to the debris from the trees, he should put a clear canopy over the pool. The previous occupants left a dirty pan with oil in the oven, which I clean before we left so they wouldn't say it was us. The faucet water was non-existent, and I guess I can go on and on. I give the view 10 out of 10.

My two kids and I stayed at this house and loved it. If you want a true Puerto Rican experience, this is the place. Beautiful views. I miss waking up early, lying on the hammocks, and feeling the breeze. At night, I usually need white noise to sleep but didn’t need it on this trip because it feels like you’re in the rainforest with just the sounds of coqui frogs and the forest coming alive. Very relaxing.

Definitely would stay here again, just knowing what you need to bring or will WANT.. Great experienc
Ultimately would stay here again. Knowing the details that are needed and with time able to find what the home doesn't provide, washer was my biggest Factor.
Second bedroom used by girlfriend's am told has a few leaks in roof that came in on them but it only rained overnight once while there.
Pulled out sofa bed and to what we seen, we're baffled to see what was in there so we just put it back and didn't even try. (Pictures) Water pressure seemed off but not unhabitable to the day's we stayed.
We definitely provided some bags of charcoal and great can size Cafe for the house and guests along with detergent and softener that we left as we couldn't take or use. Shampoo - body wash etc- sugar bag, aluminum foil= overall , our Stay was made a memory added to our bucket list!!!! Thank you. Outside fridge wasn't working. We didn't need it thankfully... We took out All trash and made a pile for what I would have left clean sheets, towels Etc (dirty clothes) love the gated surrounding as private as one wants us what you get!!! ******

The veranda and view are amazing. We enjoyed the pool and made good use of the grill. At night, the chorus of the coqui made us feel we had really transported ourselves the Puerto Rico!
This property was difficult to find - GPS took us to a dead end street. Owner then helped us locate the house. The house is in only fair condition. There is an infestation of beetles eating kitchen cabinets and the legs of the LR couch. LR furnishings are sparse - Upholstry on couch looks not too fresh, the only place to sit - and lighting is overhead and unattractive. Same with bedrooms. There are no functioning laundry appliances - rusted ones on back patio. The photo of the pool is very misleading - it is accessed by a steep ladder up and over, in a shady area of a sad looking patio area. We did not attempt to use it. We rented a very small car (Chevy Spark) which barely made it up the extremely steep and narrow road. All that being said, the view of the countryside and town in the distance, and the spacious deck facing this view, were enjoyable.
Beautiful views. The place was clean, but dishes had food remains on them. Sleeping area is comfortable for 4 adults or 5 with kids. Provided 2 towels, basic spices, and coffee filters. Bring your own soaps, especially if you like to cook.
Pros: scenic location, outdoor patio and space, hammocks.
Cons: non operable washer and dryer when listing was advertised to have this. Minimal cleaning supplies (almost empty paper roll, hand soap, dishwashing liquid).
This place worked well for me and my 3-best friends. I will say, we are easy travelers and just wanted a chill home base to spend the mornings and evenings - we got that here!
It was a real true island experience - no frills, but we felt like we got a taste for local life.
One really important note - this house is at the top of a huge hill. You will need a good car to get up the hill! We had a big SUV. I am not sure a sedan would have made it, though I did see a few people drive by in smaller cars - I think our rental car would have gotten messed up.
The place is very simple and has some ware, could use a few touch ups. 2 AC units - one in each bedroom, but nowhere else - though if you run it with the bedroom doors open, and close the windows, it does cool down the place.
The pool was a nice perk, but we ended up at the beach.
The highlight for us was the patio. We all enjoyed slow mornings there with some breakfast and coffee. We recommend stopping at the grocery store on your way in and gabbing some breakfast items and coffee for easeful mornings on the hammocks and day bed. We loved that part the most.
It does say there is a washer/dryer, but we realized it was actually two dryers - one that didn't work.
We did have an issue with one of the beds breaking and the host was amazing - he communicated quickly with us and was available to remedy the issue. He fixed it the next morning.
The water pressure is weak but again, that is part of the local experience.
We loved our stay at Jose’s beautiful home. The hilltop views were gorgeous, especially taken in from the patio hammocks. Jose was an attentive host with excellent communication. The home was just as listed, with the only exception being the absence of washing machine, as it had broken and needed fixing.
This was an absolutely beautiful home. Jose was an excellent host, helpful and very responsive. The outdoor balcony with hammocks is the most peaceful beautiful view in the morning perfect to release and drink coffee. The outdoor pool area with kitchen was an added bonus to cook and enjoy time with our son. Home was very clean! You will not be disappointed booking this home that’s a gaurantee!!!
Beautiful house with huge verandah that is opened to mountain and sea views. Make sure that you have powerful car to climb to the top! Our car had difficulty to enter through gravel driveway after stopping before gate - owner advised to stop at road first and open gate, then drive through - it worked.
Jose is very responsive to all our questions and concerns, answered everything right away.
Good property, can recommend.
Best part of the property was the outdoor area with an outstanding views all around. We stayed at the hilltop for our first PR vacation and really enjoyed our time there. Our property had an outdoor pool, a covered balcony/patio with hammocks, bed and the spectacular view. House was cozy with 2 bedrooms, a living room and kitchen. Host was super helpful allowing us early check in, cleaning the outdoor pool on our request and providing fresh towels during our stay. We liked the property very much.
