Perfect Anniversary Retreat

We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary after honeymooning in Gatlinburg. This was a perfect place to stay to get away from it all and relax in beautiful nature and to come "home" to after visiting the area attractions or a day of hiking. The owners had their home decorated for Christmas, which was an extra special treat for us, as our anniversary is a week before. They quickly responded to any questions we had via email and were very helpful and kind. Highly recommend this home to anyone who wants to visit the area.

Wonderful stay

The cabin was very clean and stocked with lots of little extras. I loved the rustic decor and all the wood. The hot tub and fireplace were so nice after a long day hiking. We had a wonderful time celebrating our 17th anniversary. This cabin isn’t very private you.can see neighbors most everywhere unless you are looking out back from the hot tub.. However this is a great little cabin for small families or couples.

Peaceful

Name of cabin fits well it is peaceful. The road to cabin is a little steep and there are two other cabins close bye but still have plenty of privacy.

Nice stay at “Peaceful Retreat “

We had a nice quiet stay at “Peaceful Retreat”. We mostly used the living room and main floor bedroom. We didn’t use the upstairs at all. The kitchen was fully equipped, but we didn’t really eat much there as my husband and I drove into Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge and most days came back just before dark as I didn’t like driving the mountain incline at night. The last hill before the road to get to the cabin is quite steep and hard to see where the road goes until you reach the top of the incline and then you turn down a a hill to the cabin nestled in the woods. The wrap around porch is nice and the setting is very serene. The only warning is to watch your head near the spiral staircase, as it protrudes into part of the living room area and part of the bottom or some of the steps are right at head level. The place was extremely clean and everything we needed was there such as soap and towels. Dishes available in kitchen. Lots of pillows and blankets. Would recommend this place to couples or small families wanting to get away from the craziness of the Parkway.

Nestled in woods

We enjoyed the quiet and relaxing mornings on the deck watching nature's wonders. It was a peaceful place to lay our heads after all of our daytime adventures in the Smokies! We'll definitely be back.

As peaceful as it gets!

We very much enjoyed our stay. The cabin was clean and comfortable. My sons loved having the loft bedroom all to themselves! We ate every meal outside on the spacious deck! This cabin is located just a short drive from main roads and we spent much of our time in GSMNP.

Very cozy and beautiful cabin

Although we pretty much only came for the evening to sleep and head back home in the morning, it was very cozy and clean. The owner called to let me know we can check in earlier which I thought was kind of him to offer. We would stay here again and the hot tub was an added bonus after a long strenuous hike. Thank you for having us!

Spiral, Wraparound & Clawfoot Tub

This unique cabin got a wraparound porch with a beautiful view of the mountains. When using the hot tub, we enjoyed the view of the mountains and deer watching. My kids built a homemade bridge on the dried up creek beside the cabin using thick sticks and logs. It was a joy to watch them spark their creativity and teamwork. The cabin itself was clean and got basically everything we needed. Clawfoot tub and the spiral staircase was a nice, unique addition. The owner was quick to answer any problems we had, such as a tree with a very weak bottom. They had a tree service cut the tree down during our stay. We were glad it was taken care of for the next renters. Thank you for allowing us to stay at the Peaceful Retreat.

Very nice cabin and location

My wife and I enjoyed our stay. The cabin was very nice, cozy and clean. Its location was exactly what we wanted. Only about 20 minutes away from Gatlinburg and/or Pigeon Forge. It felt very quiet and private at night in the hot-tub. Neighboring cabins weren't right on top of us, like I've experienced at other places we've rented. We didn't have the need to contact the owner, because everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend this place, and I plan on staying here again.

“A Peaceful Place To Visit”
The great Smokey Mountains National Park in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, is a peaceful place to visit. Looking through the eyes of nature the enjoyment and serenity of the forest is like a journey through space before entering the sacred gates of heaven.
Blue hazy smoke drifts lazily over the mountain tops like a blanket protecting a sleepy town. Towards the east, slowly peeking over the horizon, the rising sun views the waking park and unfolds like a majestic answer to an artist’s dream.
Vividly rushing creeks meander along winding mountain roads to form roaring waterfalls that seem to perish like the ends of the earth.
Strolling through lush green forest, sweet chirping sounds float like a choir of angels singing.

This is proof that there is an almighty God and he does give you the desires of your heart. This was a paper I wrote in college in 1991, before we ever thought it was possible to achieve our dream of owning property.
Pam & Ted Ponville

Why they chose this property

We came to the Great Smoky Mountains in 1977 for our honeymoon and fell in love with the area. Most of our family vacations were spent in this area. We always talked and dreamed of owning a log cabin one day and that dream became a reality.

What makes this property unique

Enjoying shopping for local crafts, outlet malls, antiques, & flea markets in the area. Plan a day to go ice skating at Ober in nearby Gatlinburg. We love to picnic in Cades Cove while enjoying nature & wildlife.
