Loved it!!

The location of this comfortable cabin is right on the river, which was perfect for my fishing-loving husband. We enjoyed the porch over looking the waters, the geese, and even the deer walked by on our last morning. The cabin is comfortable and well furnished with inside and outdoor space including outdoor heaters for cooler evenings. The kitchen has everything you need for meals. We hope to return.

Coming from florida we really needed A peaceful nature filled retreat on the River. The cabin and the location exceeded all expectations! Deer and Canadian geese are plentiful and playing all around the cabin. This is a really great place to unwind and relax. Thank you vacasa, And the cabin owners for a great vacation.

Great location high extra fees

I have been vacationing In The coosawattee river resort for over 20 years now. This was in my top 3 cabins for sure. It’s all about the location. You are literally on the water. The cabin is very small, in my opinion only large enough for 2-3 people. It says 1,372 sq feet but no way is it that big. However for just my mom and I on her birthday trip it was enough. We opened all the doors and windows and from o e side watched the deer and chipmunks and the back was the river. Really peaceful. The kitchen is well equipped for the small size and the beds are fairly Comfortable. I will say that the fees charged by Vacasa were exuberant. What is listed as a $220 per night house wound up being $383. Lots of extra fees I have never been charged with other rental companies. I will steer away from them in the future if possible. But if you don’t mind paying the extra fees the cabin is perfect for anyone who enjoys outdoors. The balcony/deck is very large and very relaxing.

No condiments not enough TP or paper towels. Be prepared to buy EVERYTHING you will need.

Place was great. Fridge and freezer were completely empty. There was only two rolls of toilet paper and 1 roll of paper towels.. all the cheapest on the market. We had to buy everything from coffee to paper towels to ketchup and mayo. The fridge and freezer only had ice. Doors dont shut well and need to be fixed.

Overall Great Stay

Overall, our stay at Rushing River was great! The home sits at the end of a narrow gravel road that makes it very private. Luckily, Waze navigation got us there with only a couple backtracks. There is no ATT cell reception (probably true for any carrier) because the cabin is in a deep valley. The cabin Wi-Fi worked very well anywhere on the property and connection was easy. The cabin itself has pretty much everything you need. It took a little looking into all the closets to find everything (e.g., kitchen wastebasket). The kitchen is well equipped with modern appliances. The coffee maker can be used with grounds or K-cup. There was even a grinder if you have coffee beans (didn’t use). The two TVs are Roku TVs but are very limited on selection. There is a TV channel listing provided, but not instructions on how to access. We brought our own Roku connection, so we could watch as if at home. Our biggest complaint and disappointment was the master bed. It didn’t provide much support and the mattress is soft. It lacks box springs, and the bed frame has straps that are far apart. With the lovely furnishing everywhere else, it seemed that the bed is a budget-cutter. We ended up sleeping in the upstairs queen (listed as two twins, but there are a queen and twin in the room) because of backaches from the master bed. The rapids just up from the cabin make sitting outside in the ample seating enjoyable day or night. Waved to those tubing on the river. We really enjoyed swinging in the hammock while relaxing with a good book. The afternoon sun almost made it too hot to sit on the front deck even though there are ceiling fans. An option is to sit in the two chairs placed right at the shore of the river. The hot tub was also very enjoyable even though it was mid-August. The river isn’t very deep at this point. Probably could wade all the way across, but footing is difficult because of the rocky bottom. The water temp is a little chilly but not too bad. Fishing right in front may not be very promising so going above the rapids looked better if you can wade that far or cut through the woods and come out higher up. A very relaxing place to unwind and watch the river go by. You will be a ways from anywhere so come prepared.

Sleeps 6 seats 3?

Amazing location. Patio has great seating and lots of views. The water was a big part of our stay. The only down sides were the lack of seating in the living room (no chairs, or table) like pictured on VRBO. Overall had a good time.

Cut short unnecessarily

This was my husband and I’s first trip without kids in 10 years, so needless to say we were really looking forward to it. On day 2 of our stay, 2 men in a van came to the cabin to say that the owner was turning off the internet! We counted on WiFi because we had no cell service. We could not be unreachable, so after contacting Vacasa, (who could not get the internet restored) we were forced to cut our stay short. They were helpful in relocating us to another cabin, but we were disappointed that something this avoidable was allowed to happen in the middle of our stay. We really loved this cabin and would have given a 5-star review had someone not dropped the ball. I’m sad to say I am not sure we will book a stay through this company again.

Great house

This was the perfect get away for my husband and me for a few days. The water is so close and the outdoor space is amazing! The inside is perfect size - very cozy. The kitchen was nicely equipped except for a toaster but we used the gas oven so it was fine. But maybe add some regular drinking glasses? We drank our breakfast juice out of stemless wine glasses. 😄 We did have a weird issue with water pressure in the downstairs bath - still not sure what that was all about but it didn’t keep us from having the water we needed. Overall, a great place and we are already thinking of a time we can return with another couple who loves the mtns and river too.

Peaceful

We enjoyed our stay here. It was semi-private (you can see other cabins but still private) but 17 minutes or less to town. I took my little boy to a close pond within the resort and he caught 6 fish. We hope to come back again.

One of the best cabins we've stayed in! But, look up directions before going!

We have been to a lot of cabins in the North Georgia area, and this one ranks at the top of the list. It hit nearly every item on our checklist...in some cases far surpassing what we expected. The first and most amazing feature is the outdoor space. You cannot beat it. This cabin is not near the river, it is ON the river. I mean, literally three feet from the river. And it certainly lives up to the "Rushing River" name, as it is surrounded by rapids which create a very relaxing sound. The outdoor patio which wraps around the back and side of the house has a large dining table on the side, and a couch, multiple chairs, a swinging chair, and bar with stools overlooking the river. We sat out here every evening. If it had not been so cold, we might have stayed out there the entire time...it was just perfect. There are two propane heaters which helped quite a bit on the really cold evenings. The large hot tub is on the rear side of the patio and has good privacy from the river. The outdoor space also includes a nice fire pit area which we never got to use, and a little sandy beach area with steps down into the water for when it's warmer. Our son loved throwing rocks into the river. We have already discussed coming back when it's warm out. Inside is also well-appointed. The kitchen was very well stocked, with nearly every piece we needed, and very nice appliances. I would have liked a nicer microwave, but that's pretty minor. The living room had comfortable furniture and a nice smart TV with all the streaming services on it (you need your own logins). A nice addition was the remote control fireplace, which we used in the evenings. The dining area had a nice big table which was great for not only eating, but playing a lot of board games. The master bedroom is small with just a queen bed, but it was sufficient for us. It has double doors which open out to the patio and the river, but it was too cold for us to leave them open. It's not shown in the photos, but the master does have a smart TV in it as well. The master bathroom also had a selection of beach towels in it, which was a nice touch. Upstairs, there is another bedroom and full bathroom. Our son loved this bedroom since it has two beds, I think a full and a twin. Note that the is no TV in this room even though it shows one in the photos. Our son particularly loved the little balcony off this bedroom which had a couple of small chairs he could sit in to read his books or look the river. One odd thing...there is a window from this bedroom into the main living space. We managed to cover it with a towel as we didn't want light keeping the kid up, or for him to peer out at us. Would be nice if they put in something that could cover this. The cabin is in the Coosawattee River Resort. We know from previous visits that you must have a card to use the facilities like the indoor pool, gym, and mini golf, but we did not find anything related to this at the cabin, or anything even referring to the amenities. That was rather disappointing. Getting there... Do not attempt to get here after drinking. There are some very long and winding roads leading to the cabin, with very sharp dropoffs. It was like being on a rollercoaster! It is not a drive you will want to make for a quick run, so make sure to stock up before going. Note that Google Maps DOES NOT lead you to the correct location. We could not find the cabin upon arrival. Apple Maps does appear to give correct directions. Overall, our experience at this cabin was fantastic. We loved every minute and were very sad to leave. The few small annoyances mentioned above were very minor and didn't affect our trip at all. I just hope that they will add the resort amenities in the future.
