Perfect Forest Therapy Location - 3 acres - Geodesic Dome - Find your Peace !
Unique gem, Geodesic Dome cabin on 3 acres, nestled in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Wildwoods Cabin will be the perfect stay for your vacation! Wildwoods has the feel of being secluded however the Mickelson Trail (non motorized trail) runs just below the property for easy access to hiking, biking & skiing. It is the perfect place to get away from it all & back in touch with nature. Enjoy the deck, with wildlife traveling thru the property. Mickelson trail goes right thru property. So cabin is less than 1/10th of a mile (right next to trail) from the trail. This is a peaceful location enjoyed by many so PLEASE NO MOTORIZED OFF ROAD VEHICLES (atv's, side by sides etc)....Thank you for your understanding). Final note: While a car can get to the cabin we would recommend AWD or 4WD to cover all weather and road conditions. We do have a lower parking area if needed just below the cabin. Re: motorcycles…..it total depends on you comfort level riding….. Some are totally fine with gravel road leading to our driveway and also fine with driveway and some don’t like gravel and hills. We do have a lower parking area for motorcycles, and then it’s a very short hike to the cabin. If you have questions, please reach out and I can explain more. Thank you !

We really enjoyed our stay, owner was very helpful. The cabin or “dome” was a very cool place with a unique look from the outside and very well kept and modern look inside. We’d recommend anyone stay there if they’re in the area!
Best place we have ever stayed in Black Hills. Cabin is just perfect for two and has everything you would ever need. Weather station was a nice added touch. So remote, but so close to Mikelson Trail-- what a plus. Owners communicated well and gave very good driving instructions to cabin.
Neat place to stay! It was a cute little cabin that actually didnt feel small. It was clean and well kept with comfortable beds! Also its a fricken Dome! It not an everday kind of thing. Definitely would stay again! Hosts were great too!
My wife and I loved staying here. It wasn’t hard to find - the driveway is steep but our truck handled it just fine. It was very clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Our host, Kim, was so helpful and informative. Loved the trail recommendations! We absolutely hope to be back. Only good things to say about it!! Thank you!
Clean, private.... the list can go on and on. Everything about the Dome was awesome! The; night sky, deer, mountain lians, and fresh trout swimming the creek on property is amazing! The Location is perfect!
Kim was amazing, easy to comminicate with!!! Place was gorgeous and clean. Chris came out to meet us to ensure things were ok!
By far the best VRBO hosts i have encountered!!
Our only issue was the driveway on the motorcycles, its not made for 2 wheels...gravel/rutted/steep made it difficult to traverse, but we will be back when we are in a better equipped vehicle
Nice little dome house. Was well equipped for our 3 day stay. Enjoyed sitting outside with morning coffee and evening wine. Good location in a quiet secluded neighborhood. Driveway to the house was a little steep and rough for my little car but added to the adventure of the trip. House does have 2 beds, separated by a partial wall, in the loft but no doors and not actually separate rooms.

Change from the prairies
We came from small town Saskatchewan, Canada. Loved the scenery of the area. Hiking, side by side trails, caves, Mount Rushmore, Iron Mountain Road. We didn't spend much time at the cabin as there was so much to see. The rutted driveway leading directly up to the cabin was very challenging for the minivan and could use a little TLC.
What a lovely little secluded place to stay! The cabin was cozy, well stocked and very clean. Communication with Kim was very good. She was very professional yet personable and has a cute sense of humor, and easy to reach if needed. We were gone most of the daytimes but always were excited to come back to the cabin, it felt like home and we hated to leave and head home.
The only thing we would have changed is that the shower head doesn’t tilt away from the shower door any further so showering was a little tricky, but we made do.
So many AirB and B, Vrbo, and hotels have resorted to so much greed,
price hikes and gouging that vacationing has become unaffordable for many Americans. We found the rates here reasonable and we hope that they stay that way. We would love to come back!
Thanks Kim!

If you are 2nd Guessing staying at this Dome... Do Not! It was Amazing!
This Dome/Cabin was one of our highlights of our trip to South Dakota! We came at just the right time when the fall leaves were changing colors. When you look at the pictures you may think it is tiny. The Dome has plenty of space decorated with heart and thought. It was soo nice to hang out in the dome with my Wife and her parents. The spiral staircase to upstairs is not bad at all. Just watch your head if you are tall. (We all are under 6') We wish we stayed another night. We woke up and looked out at the mountains and heard the creek from below. The upstairs bedrooms are seperatred by a wall for privacy but has no doors. It was fine because none of us snore. Haha. This honestly is such a unique spot and perfect for a couple or a small family to get away and reset. We will be back again. (BTW: Heat was great, shower temp/pressure was great and everything works fine)
