You'll begin each morning in a cozy and inviting living space with generous windows, a full kitchen, and a private screened-in deck with a commanding view of the water. Once you've finished your coffee and breakfast, you can take a canoe out into Jordan Bay, go for a refreshing swim in the lake, and cap the day's activities with an outdoor barbecue and s'mores roasted around the firepit.

Disappointed

There’s a difference between rustic and downright shabby. This fell short of expectations. With the location, and wonderful lakeside views and access, this place has the potential to be very special. However, much of the property and cabins have been neglected, and are in various states of disrepair. It’s minimally functional as far as having a roof over your head (for the moment). So, if all you need is a place to sleep between excursions then it may suffice, but if you’re looking for anything more than that I would look elsewhere. Pros: -Location: lakeside with dock access -Views: unobstructed towards Sebago Lake Basin Cons: -Sagging floors, ceilings, and balcony -Exposed and out of place electrical outlets likely not up to code -Various poor amateur carpentry repairs -Excessive spider, roach, and other insect infestations -Poor customer service with requests (we asked for additional towels but they never came) In addition, our WiFi was out the entire week. When we arrived there was a note that Spectrum would arrive between 3-4pm. No one from management came to oversee this, and when the tech came out he spent a significant time working on the property. He had to FaceTime his bosses to help assess the situation, meanwhile we were stuck on the property with him and could not leave. Even despite, they were not able to repair and no attempt was made by management or spectrum to correct the situation during our week long stay.

Boat house

Loved the location right on the lake. Loved the use of the canoe. Bed and sofa bed is very uncomfortable. Water temperature lukewarm is the hottest it gets. The place is in desperate need of repair.

Great location

The location of this cottage was ideal. Nice to sit on the screened porch looking out at the boats in Sebago basin. Front porch of the lodge was great for view of the sunsets over Jordan bay. Close proximity to Bob’s Seafood and Deck House a plus. Biggest minus was size and comfort of the beds. A double bed and a pull out couch do not sleep 2 people each comfortably. In fact, these beds were not even comfortable with one person in them. An upgrade on the beds would really help this rental.

The Ts visit Standish

The location of the Boathouse is perfect. You can watch boats coming & going, swim on-site and even participate in a bonfire at night State park with sandy beach and wildlife park each close by, and plenty of restaurants and places to shop. They could use updated pots and minor repairs, but we made do with things as they were.
