Loved the remodel of the funeral home. The home was well stocked and very clean. The little details added to keep with the funeral home added to the whole feel.
This was an amazing property for a bachelorette weekend. It was close enough to everything needed and only a short distance from Geneva. Desiree was extremely communicative and accommodating.
The Phantom Manor is truly one of a kind! Beautifully updated while keeping its charm. Plenty of space for a large group and close to all of amenities. There are thoughtful little touches around house that made it feel like home!
10/10 Would stay here again! Immaculately kept, supplies were on point, no detail overlooked! Kitchen was stocked (except if you want a 9x13 or special cookware, bring your own). The keurig closet was an incredible touch! The beach was a 4 minute drive.
The owners have a great sense of humor - the decorations were a great mix of funny, sweet and creepy.
And the bonus? The taxi drivers from GOTL knew exactly where we were staying.
The hosts were very quick to respond to any questions I had before and during the trip. The host also had recommendations for the are which was really helpful. The house itself was really funky and eclectic and perfect for our group. Would absolutely recommend this venue to others looking to have bachelorette parties with access to wineries.
The only issue we had was there were no oven mitts. It’s a very minor inconvenience and we were able to use towels to get food out of the oven, but it would be something to consider bringing along for the trip if you are planning on using the kitchen.
Everything we needed for an enjoyable weekend. Property owner was gracious and explained everything we needed to know. Check in and out was easy. Would stay here again.
Beautiful historic building with all the amenities!
Stayed here for my bachelorette weekend of old movies, wineries and Geneva on the Lake. The property was remodeled beautifully while keeping its historic charm and was perfect for our group. The owners were accommodating and quick with communications. Thank you so much!
The property is nicely remodeled and had plenty of space. The host left snacks and coffee for us, which was a nice touch. If you are staying with a max occupancy group as we did, I would recommend bringing air mattresses, unless you don't mind pairing up in double beds.
Everything was smooth beginning to end. Desiree answered all my questions and concerns almost immediately. The house has a lot to offer and was really fun for our group. I was a bit concerned at first of the other tenants in the connecting units, as we were celebrating and a bit loud, but it turned out to be a non-issue. I will definitely recommend this rental to others traveling to the area this summer.

About the host
Hosted by Desiree Plant
Wife, mother and traveler of the world. I am in my most happy place when I am traveling. I decided to "retire" from the dental field so I could focus more on making vacationers happy while away from home. I created this place thinking it would be a place to talk about for years. Memories are all we need to enjoy our time away, whether you drove a few miles down the road or few 1000 miles to get here.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with the character of this property and had to have it, but wasn't sure what to do with it due to its size, finally came up with a plan to give as many people the opportunity to enjoy its beauty even if it is only for two nights at a time.
What makes this property unique
How many people can say that they have stayed in a funeral home, or had their bachelorette party in one, The property is so universal you even use it for a nice family trip or holiday dinner.
