We loved that cute cottage for the one night we were there prior to our cruise. It’s super clean, well decorated, nicely stocked, and coffee options galore. Everything worked. The back yard is really cute and there’s a fire pit there. The host is amazingly receptive and helpful. We’ll look for this one again.
Miss K's was such a cute little home with wonderful showers, comfy beds and a relaxing backyard. Our kids enjoyed the snacks, and we were able to see the beautiful cemetery from the front porch. I would highly recommend staying at Miss K's.
Beautiful restored home great location for Cruisers!
My son and I came to Galveston for my first cruise and we couldn’t pick the better home to stay in! Everything was beautifully updated and it had more than what we needed! There was great communication with Tiffany, who always answered all my questions promptly! Everything about this place was easy and wonderful. I highly recommend it and hope to be back on our next cruise.
This was the perfect little overnight for us before we got on our cruise. It was close to the terminal. The house is very cute. They are a big fan of pocket doors with most of the doors in the house sliding. The laundry room is in the master bedroom and the access to the backyard is through the master bedroom. The space is beautiful and well taken care of. The host responded quickly and was very helpful with all of our questions
We stayed for four nights prior to our cruise. The interior of the home is spotless and beautifully decorated. Everything is in like new condition; beds were great. Both bathrooms have large walk in showers. Wish the weather were warmer-we could have enjoyed the nice front porch or back deck/fire area. Appreciated the supplied coffee and snacks. The nearby historic cemetery is very cool. The neighborhood seems a little bit sketchy at first but we had no problems.
The house is great. Nicely renovated and appointed. Lots of room for two couples.

Walking distance
This is a beautifully remodeled house. The home accommodations were as expected. We were looking more for a place to be in walking distance from the strand and the pier. A vehicle must be taken to get to any location and that requires parking fees.
We were in Galveston for the Polar Express train. The house is great! They have many nice touches. The beds are comfy. There is a washer and dryer with laundry soap provided. Both showers have shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Nice towels. The coffee bar is STOCKED!! Plenty of spices provided as well as snacks and am many cooking supplies and anyone would need. The kids enjoyed sitting around the fire pit. It rained so we didn’t get to use the provided corn hole boards. Would differently recommend and will stay again!!
We stayed at this property in November 2024. The property was very clean but house is VERY small and tight space. It was perfect tho, for just an overnight stay but if traveling with children, wouldn’t necessarily recommend for long stays. The house is literally about 3 houses down from cemetery and in a historic area of Galveston where some houses have been restored yet others have not. When we arrived, there was a nice little basket of snacks on the kitchen island but BEWARE the snacks left for us had expiration dates of Oct 2023…over a full year expired! For the price we paid, we were pleased and would consider this property again as it is very close to cruise terminal.
The house was great. It was minutes from the port and perfect for cruising. The AC got nice and cold. This is by far the nicest house on the block and while I do understand some other reviews mentioning the neighborhood, we had zero issues. The neighbors were friendly and said hello anytime we walked out if they were outside. Overall we would stay here again, especially if we were cruising.
Didn’t feel outside was clean enough to use. Inside was great

We were in town to take our daughter to a educational camp and the house was perfect for our needs. Modern with a full kitchen for cooking. Loved the walkin shower. Master bed was very cozey. Great location not far from all the places we wanted to see while in town.

This was a wonderful stand alone property that was charming and cozy. The host literally thought of everything; snacks when we arrived, a large coffee selection, nightlights in thoughtful corners, a/c and ceiling fans in most rooms, along with detergent for laundry and a full book of island must-knows. Would highly recommend!
Overall, we had a great time. The house was very accommodating, and the host was extremely responsive.

Disliked: Location
Miss Kay’s
My group and I were not very impressed with our stay. It was in a bad side of town and the houses were VERY close together. Anytime we were on the front porch the neighbors camera could see us and it did the automated you are being recorded message, which was annoying. The washer also smelled of mildew which stunk up the whole main bedroom. The water was also heavily chlorinated. All the adults who showered said it was being in a swimming pool. We also did not feel that Tiffany was very hospitable. Overall, cute remodel but will choose a hotel next time we are in the area.

Why they chose this property
Miss Kay's Getaway is a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage that has been lovingly remodeled from top to bottom, every surface has been updated. Brand new front porch and back deck added. The back yard is an oasis to relax in from a NEW 8 ft fence, lots of tropical color, to the gas fire pit, gas BBQ grill and festive lighting.
What makes this property unique
Brand new everything! This is a property you can truly enjoy inside and out. Our location makes it very easy to get to all the fun Galveston has to offer. A 4 min drive will get you to the beach, or rent some bikes or a golf cart to see the sights. Also just a very few min drive will also get you to the strand, and the cruise port, or the Pleasure Pier and the seawall! Any direction you go there are awesome sights, sounds and activities.
Miss Kay's Getaway is located across from Galveston's oldest historic cemetery. Galveston's Old City Cemetery holds some of the island's grandest treasures of architecture and history as well as the final resting place for some of Galveston's most influential 19th and early 20th century citizens. Try out a Ghost tour, https://ghostcitytours.com/galveston/haunted-galveston/broadway-cemetery/ This is just one of them available. Or go it alone, walking the cemeteries is an amazing journey through an island time capsule of the Texas Revolution, Civil War Soldiers of both sides, National celebrities and prominent local citizens. You never know which known local scoundrels you are likely to meet!
