Cousins wine trail trip

My cousin and booked the Zia for the weekend so we could do the Hermann wine trail. The healer suite has a great vibe to it!! It’s a great place to sleep and just sit and catch up over coffee and snacks. We will definitely be back!!

Ok property

We enjoyed our stay because it was close to Herman and the wineries. The town of New Haven does close up early. Stairs to the room are steep. Trains do come by regularly and are right across the street so they are loud. But even with those draw backs it was a good stay.

Zia weekend

Zia apartment and accommodations were lovely. New Haven is a beautiful river, rail town. There is a beautiful scenic overlook and a river walk nearby. New Haven was a nice place to stay in its proximity to Hermann and Oktoberfest. I highly recommend Zia.

Loving find

When planning our gals weekend in the area, we knew we wanted to stay in a centralized location amongst all the wineries. New Haven was we where decided and Zia provided the lodging we needed. Staying downtown, we could walk to the multiple locations that New Haven offers. We much enjoyed our time there and the ease of staying at Zia.

Zoning Out At Zia

Our experience was relaxing and interesting. Beautiful area with the fall colors. Interesting historical venue. Loved the doctor’s suite. The trains were loud but fascinating since we don’t have trains where we live in NY. We were in the area for a wedding We would recommend to others.

Only thing I didn't care for was the stairs they seemed very steep. But now that I know how they are, I would stay again.

Nice Weekend Getaway in Quaint Midwestern town

Loved the property. Unique, clean, had everything we needed. Having a kitchen and a washer and dryer was great. Located in downtown super cute and quiet except for the train that runs every so often right across the parking lot which wasn’t bothersome to us because we love trains and it added to the atmosphere. This is a great place if you want a slower pace. Shops do close early, a few restaurants are right in town, disappointed that Distillery in town was closed at that time. Hermann wineries etc are about a 20 minute drive. Worthwhile weekend trip!

Perfect Girls Trip Getaway

Friends and I rendezvoused in the Healer suite. What a fabulous little spot in a fun little town! The suite was just as described. Laura had all kinds of personal touches from snacks to notes left for us. The bathroom is spacious and washer and dryer super handy! We stayed here as we were doing trip to Hermann during the day - but loved that coming back to New Haven we knew it was going to be chill in the evening. During our visit the neighborhood put on a scarecrow festival that was straight out of a Hallmark movie. We loved it. The highlight was getting to meet Laura and Mark since they had Zia open for the festival. The deli a few doors down is delish! Pinkney Distillery just around the corner was a blast. Ohhh and the glass blowing shop is fabulous! 10/10 Highly recommend! We're already planning a return to enjoy a Zia retreat!

About the host

Host profile image
Hi! We are Laura & Mark and we own Zia, New Haven!
We love to travel and therefore we love to host other travelers! We have been hosting in New Haven for 10 years! We have loved every minute of it and our guests have loved it also!
We created Zia and the suites so that we could provide comfortable, clean, relaxing accommodations that we ourselves would love to stay in! We are grateful that you have chosen the Healer Suite and we pray you have a lovely stay and discover the Zia Life!

We first bought the building in 2009 and after extensive renovations, but keeping the historic details & charm, we opened the guest suites in 2012. We love the building with its beautiful pocket doors, warm mouldings and soothing ambiance. We are sure you will love it too!

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this building because we love historic buildings! We love this building's wood trim, mouldings, pocket doors, large windows, ambiance, and it's story! We love all the people who have come in and told us stories about being in the building years ago to see Doc Held or shop in Krull's Department Store downstairs. We love the history! If you love historical buildings full of charm, character, and rich history, you will love Zia, New Haven!

What makes this property unique

It is close to everything but away from the chaos! We are 18 minutes from Hermann and Washington, but in a quiet getaway. We are surrounded by shops and sweet places to visit, but it gets quiet at night. We have a distillery (and soon a brewery and wine garden) within walking distance! We have trains and barges and all the nostalgia that goes with them. We have it all! It is a friendly town with so much charm and character! It is a well kept secret that we hope you get to experience!
