About this property

Knotty pine walls and vaulted ceilings make our cabin the perfect place for a vacation with family and friends, or a quiet getaway. One block off beautiful Lake Ripley with a private beach that includes a slide and a playground. Lake Ripley has great fishing all year around and is perfect for water sports like water skiing, jet skiing, kayaking, paddleboarding and boating. There is a public launch.

Our cabin comes completely furnished with bed linens, bathroom towels and washcloths, beach towels, washer and dryer. All mattresses and pillows have allergy and bed bug covers on them.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, cookware, silverware, drip and Kuerig coffee makers, toaster, full refrigerator, gas stovetop and oven, and microwave.

The cabin is equipped with WiFi and 3 smart TVs for streaming. There is a radio/speaker that is Bluetooth enabled.

The three season porch has enough seating for 8 along with a TV. There is an outdoor area with a gas and charcoal grill, a patio table and a fire ring. There are two decks.

A paddle board and two bicycles are available for your use.

Downtown Cambridge offers shopping and restaurants. Close to a grocery store, bars, bowling alley, and miles of trails in the local parks for hiking and biking. Camrock Parks single track mountain biking trails are known as some of the best in the area and visited frequently by biking enthusiasts.

Cozy and Relaxing

We had a very relaxing vacation at the cabin - the location is great and the cabin has everything we needed. We especially loved the screened in porch for relaxing in the afternoons after letting the kids play at the beach all afternoon, which is walking distance from the house! The kids lived having their own loft space - it was like a slumber party every night and all beds were super comfy. Donna was great in communicating ahead of our stay and was available during it, even though we didn’t need anything. The cabin is close to town for shopping, delicious meals, and more parks. We will definitely stay again when we vacation at the lake!

Perfect place

I was surprised at the beauty of this house and land after expexting a lake house or cabin. Ecerything was so clean and we had plenty of room. The loft was not stuffy, it had plenty of air. The backporch was my favorite along with the fire pit outside. July 22, 2024 cabin.

We enjoyed our time together at this cozy cabin. Appreciate having some games available. Wish we could have enjoyed the outside areas but it was too chilly for these southerners!

Cozy at Christmastime!

Donna had prepared the cozy cabin perfectly. We arrived to many Christmas touches and enjoyed the fireplace as we watched our favorite football games with Tom n Jerry’s. Outing to downtown Cambridge… The Plow restaurant for pizza…delightful atmosphere…great employees. The Dancing Goat Distillery…to sample brandies and bourbon. Friendly bartender. Beautiful, contemporary building! Would like to return in the summertime. Dave and Sue

Cozy and comfortable

We had a very nice stay while visiting Wisconsin for a cyclocross race. The location was great and the house was wonderful. Very comfortable and with everything we needed. Communication with Donna was awesome and we really appreciated getting all the checkin information several days in advance of our stay. We hope to stay again!

Thanksgiving at Lake Ripley

We traveled to the area to spend Thanksgiving with our daughter who is a student at the University of Wisconsin. The cabin was the perfect home away from home. The cabin was clean and cozy. We were able to prepare a complete Thanksgiving dinner with the well stocked kitchen(there even was a roasting pan!). We would definitely consider booking this cabin again.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful family weekend. The house was clean and well maintained. The location couldn’t have been better with just a short walk to the playground and beach. The owners were very responsive and friendly. We would definitely recommend!

Cabin in a lakeside community

The house was lovely and well appointed. We particularly enjoyed the enclosed porch and fire pit area. We enjoyed the community's private beach on Lake Ripley and their park. We took advantage of local opportunities to hike and kayak on the Yahara River while staying there.

Perfect for a cozy family weekend

This was our first blended family vacation (even two of our childrens' SO's!) and we couldn't have asked for better! Donna was fantastic at communicating and everything was just how we'd hoped it would be. Thank you!

Absolutely Perfect!

The property was exactly as described in the VRBO listing. The owners, Jim and Donna, were absolutely wonderful and made sure we had anything and everything we needed. The property was very well stocked with all the amenities a family would need for the perfect home away from home stay. The home is only one block away from the lake and beach. We only had six people stay but would very comfortably sleep eight as listed. Overall the entire property was very clean and well manicured. Even family members that just stopped by for the day were impressed and requested the property listing info for future stays. It is definitely our first choice for another stay in Cambridge. Thanks again to Jim and Donna. Our stay could not have been more perfect.!

A wonderful slice of serenity and calm.

This cabin is a very recently renovated cabin that is a classic example of early 20th century Wisconsin resorts. There are many in the neighborhood like it, but nowhere near as nice. Close to everything, but far enough away to escape the daily grind. We loved everything about this place. The recent modifications added central air, heat, and a gas fireplace. We found the kitchen small, but perfect for feeding our group which ranged in size from 2 to 8. Those in sleeping in the loft had plenty of room to sleep, including 2 6'+ young men. The dual bathrooms were great, when we had more than 2 people. Lake Ripley was relatively quiet during our stay,, and appears to be relatively quiet when compared to some larger, more populated areas. The nearby town of Cambridge is full of potters and other artists, and offers just enough to keep you entertained and engaged with the small community. All in all, we really loved our stay (which, for us, was less than an hour from home) and intend on returning in the future.

Great spot for a family retreat

Everything was as advertised! The owner communicated well and was responsive to questions. We loved the screened porch and outdoor areas (deck, yard, firepit). It made the space seem so much larger. The cabin is only a couple of blocks from a small, private beach and playground. It had easy access to lots of hiking trails and all that Madison has to offer!

Perfect Solution

We had a number of family in for our youngest's graduation from UofW, Madison. Renting this house 25 minutes from campus (and on the way from Chicago or Milwaukee) was a dream. The house was clean and newly remodeled but had an old world charm. The owners were easy to work with and very helpful. The loft above slept 4 adult children from 5'11" to 6'3" - with a little stooping - but they didn't mind. It would be perfect for a bunch of little kids to have their own space. The neighbors were all friendly, as were the people at the Piggly Wiggly down the street! The lake was gorgeous, and we wish we had the opportunity to use that or the fire pit at our cabin (too hot for that). It was a perfect set up for 8 people to spend time together, and take some quick trips to Madison. We were comfortable and grateful to rent this lovely place.
