About this property

Cozy Lexington cottage! Stroll down to the sandy beach of Lake Huron!

We have owned our family cottage for over forty years and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every moment. About three years ago we decided to share our f cottage with VRBO guests so others could enjoy it as well - thus far the experience has been great!
From our very first VRBO reservation we decided that a clean and comfortable cottage for our guests is something we will take very seriously and have made it our number one priority!
We want our guests to relax and unwind, get away from the daily rush and escape to our lovely family cottage located in Lexington Heights!
Just a short walk down to the beautiful private beach of Lake Huron! Our spacious three-bedroom cottage offers a fully updated stocked kitchen, dining area, living room with additional dining table and ceiling fans in each room. The large, oversized lot has plenty of room for yard games and features a picnic tables, mature shade tree and the opportunity to relax by the firepit (wood not provided). For your convenience there is an additional large lot across the street to park your vehicles, boats and jet skis - so bring your toys. Four miles north is the charming little harbor village of Lexington on the shores of Lake Huron, there you can walk the pier, check out the marina and/or reserve a slip, stroll in and out of all the little unique shops, dine by the water, grocery shop, utilize the boat ramp, enjoy the public beach, attend a concert (schedule posted at cottage), play at the playground, swim or just relax and sun bath. Two televisions, DVD players, streaming available.

Great place

This was a great house. Only 2 blocks from the private beach which was very nice. Has a great big yard with a five fire pit. Very clean place and the host were very responsive to any questions before our stay.

Nice cottage, beautiful beach

Very well equipped 3 bedroom cottage with fun games, books and fast Internet. Neighborhood beaches 1/4 mile stroll. Very private and sandy which is unusuall for the typically rocky east shore of Michigan. 2 weeks of beautiful beach time.

Family Reunion

This was a perfect spot for my sisters and I to stay during our family reunion in the Lake Huron/Lexington area. The cottage was super clean and a short walk to a beautiful little beach on the lake. The cottage was well stocked with necessities, however, we did need to request a few more bath towels, but the host responded quickly and had towels delivered promptly. No complaints here!

Easy walk to Lake Huron

Nice cottage. Very clean. Well stocked with everything we needed. We enjoyed the swing in the backyard and walking around the neighborhood and lake. Port Huron is close. Had a nice tour of the Huron Lightship and Gratiot Lighthouse. Lunch at Raven’s Cafe. Relaxing week. I would stay at this cottage again.

Great experience

This was our first time renting and the experience was wonderful. Communication with the owners was easy, the cottage was adorable and very clean. My only issue would be that it should be mentioned in the description that getting to the beach required going down a steep set of stairs. That limited what we took down to the beach with us. BUT, it was not a big enough issue to keep me from giving a ☆☆☆☆☆ rating!!! 😊

A great home base during our exploration of the Thumb Coast!

Although 2022 is the first summer for the public rental of this long time family cottage, our hats are off to the owners for a job well done. Communication with owner was answered within minutes. We were sent the access code to the cottage the day of the rental and it was easy to find on Waze, the driving app. Initial impressions of the cottage were very good in that it was immaculately clean and nicely furnished. There are 3 nice sized bedrooms with comfortable beds - not too hard and not too soft. Linens were washed and smelled fresh. The kitchen was well stocked with the necessary items - dishes, silverware, appliances including a 12 cup coffee maker, and even paper plates and towels, etc. The WiFi connection is on a fiber backbone and was very fast at 100mbps. Two window A/C units with adjustable thermostats ensured our stay was cool during the day. Each room also has ceiling fans to help the circulation. At no point during our stay were we uncomfortable even on the hottest days. The cottage is located in a subdivision of similar sized cottages that is for the most part very quiet. This cottage is on a road with only a couple other cottages so traffic and noise was pretty minimal. Our only gripe (which is not the fault of the owner) was the neighbor on one side of the property that liked their music and wanted to share it with us out an open window in their unit during a few evenings, however they were quiet after 8PM or so each night. No big deal. The cottage is about 4 minutes south of a great little town called Lexington that has really quaint shops, and about 20 minutes away to the south is Port Huron. We found many things to do there, including relaxing on a very uncrowded public beach at Fort Gratiot Lighthouse during the days. There many great places to eat there including Marias for huge and cheap breakfasts, getting coffees at The Exquisite Corpse Coffee house, lunch at the Vintage Tavern, and much more to be found in Port Huron. If you are a weight lifter be sure to check out the Viking Gym! It's a great gym with an old school feel and super friendly owners. My son and I got in some great workouts there which added to our week of fun. My wife also found a lot of great shops in Port Huron. Overall, we had a great experience at our lovely little rental cottage. It was a great vacation and we hope to be back soon. Thanks to Laura and family for sharing their cottage!
