The natural sights and sounds from this river home will quickly ease you into vacation mode. With approximately 2,600 square feet, this 3-bedroom/loft, 3-bath home, can accommodate the whole family. The private master suite features a king-sized bed, plus a cozy living area of its own. Other rooms feature a queen-sized bed, twin beds, and double beds. A short walk from this hidden treasure is historic Dunnellon, where you’ll find antique shops and fun local restaurants. Rainbow Springs State Park is an 8 minute drive from our home or swim in the crystal clear water at the local beach park less than 5 minutes away. We have 2 single & 2 tandem kayaks for you to enjoy right off of our dock so you can explore the beautiful nature that surrounds us on the Withlacoochee River. Beautiful Property

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by our incredibly friendly host who made us feel right at home. Lisa's warm welcome and helpful tips truly set the tone for our entire visit. The house itself was immaculate – by far the cleanest vacation rental we've ever experienced. Every room was spotless, and it was clear that great care had been taken to ensure everything was in perfect condition. The attention to detail did not go unnoticed, and it really made our stay all the more comfortable and enjoyable. The amenities provided were top-notch, and we had everything we needed for a relaxing and stress-free vacation. The location was perfect, allowing us to explore the area easily and return to a peaceful and pristine home at the end of each day. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Dunnellon House

This property was amazing and had great details like all of our names and brownies and there was great communication and hospitality with the owner. Its a wonderful place to stay with family and friends and is a very enjoyable environment. I would totally recommend for anyone trying to visit springs or stay in a foresty place!

Excellent!!

We had a wonderfully relaxing and super fun 3 day weekend visit and felt completely at home. Lisa was gracious and lovely - meeting us at the house to welcome us with just baked brownies. We went tubing and kayaking at Rainbow Springs and also spent time at the house to paddle board, fish, play board games on awesome screened porch, and make s’mores in the fire pit. We can’t wait to come back!

Heaven on Swamp

An amazing place nestled within a more quiet part of the River. The house was great, with paddle boat, kayaks, amazing porch deck and fishing off the dock. Kayaked to hidden lagoons , great wildlife and beautiful sunset all at your back porch. Couldn’t have been any better. Loved the house. Great memories. Thanks Lisa for a warm welcome.

Great property great location.

Beautiful location. Very well set up house. Kitchen had everything that was needed and more. Just a super great place to get away from it all and relax with virtually no outside noise except for the frogs a croaking and the owls a hooting. And if you're worried about the sun blaring down on while on the decks. The decks are in the shade for a long time during the day. We had a great time. You will also.

Enjoyed our Staff retreat in Dunnellon!

We stayed 3 nights at this house in Dunnellon and it was exactly what we needed! The house and the town were the perfect getaway from busy Orlando. Spent our mornings out on the spacious deck listening to the amazing sounds of nature. Saw many many gators, big and small! Took the kayaks out several times. Rented a pontoon at Anglers and swam around in the Rainbow Spring. But the house was a perfect home base. Lisa the owner cares deeply about her property and more specifically your stay, your comfort, and your enjoyment. We've done the typical VRBO communities...where every house is the same, vacationers in every house, and everything is brand new - and that's fine...but this is the homey, small town and perfect house on the river that we really wanted. We'll be back.

Outstanding Property and Management

Me and my wife had a perfect time at the Riverhouse in Dunnellon. The house is well described in the description and is furnished with everything you could need and more. It is well supplied for both couples or families. We preferred to mainly just relax and read but the beautiful location made that extremely relaxing. The owner met us at the house and let us know everything we needed to know in order to enjoy our stay and use of the many toys and equipment available for use. She was available for advice on dining and tours etc and could not have been more helpful. The town of Dunnellon was very peaceful and has many Locally owned and operated businesses. We have already booked our trip for next year.

Amazing experience! EVERYTHING you need in a relaxing vacation you'll find it here. Very cozy, super clean and organized home. So convenient to be on the river and also near town and all activities. Everything about our stay was perfect. The house is spotlessly clean and exactly as described. Lisa is super friendly, helpful and efficient, with great communication. Having use of the kayaks is a real bonus, we spent a couple of cheap days just exploring the river. Great location for exploring this part of Florida with many interesting places within an easy drive. Very highly recommend.

Relaxing Getaway

My family and I stopped here for 3 nights on the way to Disney World. I had been to Silver Springs when I was a kid and wanted to take my two girls to something similar. We looked at several places on VRBO before deciding to stay here. I am very glad we made this choice. The cabin was immaculate and Lisa was there to greet us upon arriving with still warm brownies just pulled from the oven. She was so kind and walked us through everything. The cabin is on a cove off of the Withlachoochee River. It is about a 10 minute float from where the Rainbow River and Withlachoochee meet. There are kayaks at the cabin and you can paddle upstream to the rainbow river if you choose, or you can take them upstream by car and float down (there are also many kayak/tube rental places that will take you upstream and drop you off). It was the best of both. We were able to access the beautiful Rainbow River but we were secluded at the cabin. I was serene in the evenings. We spent all 3 playing cards on the screened in porch. I highly recommend this cabin if you are looking for a relaxing trip, especially on the front or back end of a trip to Disney!

Relaxing get away

We had a quiet, relaxing get away at the river retreat. Access to the river for kayaking couldn’t have been easier. We saw a lot of beautiful wildlife. The location is tucked away, but still close to anything you might need.

Beautiful short vacay for graduate

This property is fantastic. Everyone in our group loved it! The location is marvelous. Quiet and serene. The amenities more than expected. It is fully stocked with everything you can need but your food. The house is very clean. 3 bathrooms worked out great for us. Lisa is a friendly, helpful hostess. We enjoyed the kayaks, fishing from the dock and hiking in the woods. Many activities close by. we enjoyed tubing and the gym allowed the young men in our group to have a free guest pass for a workout. There are numerous restaurants within a short distance. Hopefully we will have another opportunity to enjoy this slice of serenity.

End of 2021 in Dunnellon

There were 7 of us for an end of year trip. This property was amazing. There was so much room for all of us. No fumbling over each other. The owner went the extra mile with providing all kinds of games, books, kayaks, paddle boat, fishing, pool and the list just keeps going. And keeping 4 young adult boys busy was so easy. Cooking for New Year's Even and shrimp boil was over the top with all items needed in the kitchen. We cannot wait to come back to this property!

Peaceful river setting

For anyone wanting to get away for a quiet, peaceful stay this is the place for you. Beautiful home in a quiet, wooded setting and right on the Withlacoochee River. Saw deer every evening just before dark on the small hill in front of the house. Fish were plentiful and fun to catch. My family and I had a great time there. Would highly recommend.

Birthday Weekend

Our weekend was a birthday celebration with a bunch of kids to go tubing in the am and we came back to the house to kayak and paddle boat. They lived on the pool table when not on the water or running around outside while the adults lived on the deck enjoying the view. The owner cares very much about her house and how the guest enjoy their visit.

Amazing Property!

A perfect, peaceful, private, picturesque place

We loved this house! It's right on the river with a fabulous, multi-level deck system. The house is big and very well set up for three groups with plenty of sleeping areas and bathrooms. (Note: the lovely master suite has a slightly musty smell, inevitable on the river, so choose another sleeping spot if you have allergies like me.)The kitchen is super well supplied with everything you could possibly need, including Yeti ice packs, a very nice touch. There are plenty of towels and sheets, night lights, bug spray, honestly, everything you need is here. I loved the motivational sunrise/sunset book and there is plenty of other reading material. Lisa and Ray are wonderful hosts and answered all our questions. The kayaks were a little different than we are used to but we absolutely enjoyed our paddling adventures and made it to the spot where the Withalacoochee and Rainbow Rivers meet. You have to check it out! Beautiful, and we found a small park where we got out of kayaks and cooled down in a roped-off swimming area, so bring a few dollars to pay for admission. (I think it was $8 for 2 people; I would have paid $100 to get into that cool water!) The Hiatus Brewing Company in Ocala was yummy, Gruff's had a good Indian appetizer and disappointing main dish, Citrus Grill did not judge me for eating delicious chocolate pie for breakfast. Another delightful trip to Dunnellon and we're so happy to have found a wonderful house to enjoy.

Our home is nestled in amongst 52 acres of woods yet the grocery, local restaurants, Rainbow Springs State Park, Juliette Falls Golf, and antique shops are all less than 10 minutes away. Once you arrive at our home you would never know that civilization is close by. This is the perfect escape from our busy lives in the city.

What makes this property unique

The home is spacious and comfortable. Our favorite spot is our huge screened-in porch overlooking the Withlacoochee River as we play at our pool table. The deck creates a covered boat slip. Enjoy making smores with your family and friends at our fire pit area.
