BERNSTEIN 6 AND AROUND

Bernstein 6 is a historic farm located for generations owned by the family. The house was recently renovated and now features distinct accommodation for an equally relaxing and active holiday.

The farmhouse receives most of its historical features, while other facilities offer modern comfort.

The ancient and unspoilt scenery of the Fichtelgebirge, with its wooded granite mountains to over 1000m, offers a wide range of outdoor and cultural activities, while the area is also ideally located to explore many historic cities and other picturesque places.

THE COTTAGE:

The Old Barn:

Under the old cross-vaulted ceiling with its central granite column, the former stables are now offering a large space to cook, eat and get-together. A traditional wood-fired stove creates a cozy atmosphere.

An old granite staircase leads to the upper floor.

Upper floor:

The original farm laborers property was transformed into spacious bedrooms and living rooms for your stay.

The cozy living room with decorative antique fireplace, also also offers satellite TV and Blu-ray players.

The five bright and spacious bedrooms can accommodate up to eight guests. There are two double bedrooms, one with direct attached shower room / WC, and three single rooms. A travel cot for an infant, and a comfortable folding bed for an adult can be provided in one of the bedrooms.

The spacious modern main bathroom with freestanding bath completes the accommodation of the house.

OUTSIDE AREA

The green central courtyard is a pleasant place for barbecues, outdoor dining or just to relax in the shade of the maple tree.

On the back of the barn there is a large meadow garden, a safe fenced area for ball games, badminton, etc.

There are a number of bicycles in different sizes, a barbecue, table tennis, badminton rackets and a variety of garden furniture to enjoy the gardens.

A children's playground is located in 2 minutes along the side street behind the house.

ACTIVITIES AND ATTRACTIONS

In the immediate vicinity of Bernstein can make wonderful long walks, and there is an extensive network of well-maintained cycle paths far from roads, ideal for big and small.
This bike paths, extend into the Czech Republic, which is only about 10km away.

The surrounding area offers a number of indoor and outdoor pools and natural swimming-pools.

The mountainous surroundings of the Fichtelgebirge, with Kosseine, Ochsenkopf, Schneeberg and other peaks, offers a variety of activities.

One of the highlights is a walk through the natural rock labyrinth of Luisenburg with its precarious rock formations and its magnificent views over the entire mountain range.

Other days you can explore the surrounding historic towns; For example Marktredwitz Wunsiedel and their marketplaces, Castle Hohenberg overlooking the nearby Bohemian Czech mountains, the regional town of Weiden with its lively historic center, shops and cafes. An attraction that should not be missed is the Baroque basilica in Waldsassen, the monastery and the associated library.

A trip to the nearby Czech spa Marianske Lazne (Marienbad), Frantiskovy Lazne (Franzensbad) and Karlovy Vary (Carlsbad), take you back to the 19th Century, as Europe's aristocracy gathered there for their summer vacation.

There are many sports facilities, including a summer toboggan run on the north slope of the Ochsenkopf and a climbing through the treetops.

We had a good time in the house. Everything you need is present. The house is characteristic and the bedrooms and bathrooms are clean. We spent several mornings and evenings under the tree for breakfast or dinner (barbecue). Be sure to bring insect spray (if you stay in august). We also had a electric racket to keep insects off, which worked perfect. The area is nice to explore. You can go for a walk, visit the Chech Republic (Marienbad is beautiful!!) or just go to a nearby lake. Just follow the tips of the owner in the house information. We

Authentic Bavarian holiday home in rural hamlet
The holiday home is set on an old farm, has been lovingly restored and is very authentic and quaint. The downstairs has a real German farmhouse kitchen with plenty of room around the table for large groups of people. It has lots of farm and personal memorabilia there and recounts some of the farm’s history. The kitchen is modern and well stocked and is immaculately clean, ( as is the rest of the property.) It has whitewashed walls and original flagstone floor in places, it is very quirky and very Bavarian. Upstairs all the bedrooms are light and bright, have both beautifully painted floors and furniture, original ceramic heaters and comfy beds. The rooms are all finished off with crochet-edged gingham curtains which give it a very homely farmhouse feel, all in all makes for a very comfortable experience. The bathrooms were all new and modern. The activities file in both German and English is second to none and is the best we have encountered. There is information on activities, amusements, attractions, towns, villages, spas, castles and sporting activities. There is something locally and further afield to do for everyone, young and old. The weather wasn't great while we were there but we were able to travel to many towns and castles, went cycling and swimming when there was sunshine and managed the summer luge which was brilliant. There are many miles of walks and cycle paths and the holiday home has a good selection of bikes that renters are able to use. The back garden accessed through the barn is handy for some respite and a glass of Sekt or ideal for smaller children. We followed the owners' recommendations for restaurants which were really good, particularly the pizzeria in Wunsiedel. All in all I would recommend the holiday home, we were a party of five and there was plenty of room for us all to relax together.

Wunderschönes altes Bauernhaus
Das Haus ist wunderschön, aber leider war es sehr kalt als wir ankamen. Die Heizung war nur auf 1 gedreht. Es wäre schön gewesen, wenn dieser Höher eingestellt worden wäre. So mussten wir zwei Tage warten, bis wir durch den Holzofen es schön warm hatten.

Bauernhaus mit viel Charme
Wir waren mit 8 Personen aus 2 Familien in dem Bauernhaus und konnten unseren Aufenthalt sehr genießen. Das Bauernhaus ist geräumig genug, dass auch die Kinder die Möglichkeit hatten sich bei Bedarf zurückzuziehen. Die Räumlichkeiten waren sauber und in der Küche gab es alles, was man fürs Kochen so benötigt. Persönlich kann ich das Bauernhaus empfehlen und vielleicht verschlägt es uns man wieder ins Fichtelgebirge :-)

Angenehmer Aufenthalt in einem sanierten, alten Bauernhaus. Gemütliche Wohnküche mit Kachelofen, Schlafzimmer mit Heizung im Obergeschoss, schön sanierte Zimmer unter Beibehaltung des historischen Flairs. Eigentlich ist alles an Ausstattung vorhanden, was man braucht. Einziger Nachteil ist das Fehlen eines stationären Internetanschlusses/WLAN, da die Mobilfunkabdeckung zumindest bei Vodafone und Telekom recht schwach ausfällt und man nicht in allen Räumen Empfang hat. Aber für manche Leute ist das vielleicht auch ein Vorteil. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war reibungslos und es waren auch viele nützliche Informationen zu Ort und Umgebung (de+en) vorhanden.

Gute Zeit
Das alte Gebäude hat einen tollen Charme und wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen. Man kann schöne Wanderungen direkt von der Wohnung aus machen. Ausstattung ist prima, alles da. Im Februar war es etwas kühl, da haben wir ein wenig gebraucht bis es warm war. Die Gegend bietet viele schöne Möglichkeiten zur Freizeitgestaltung (Wandern, Schwimmen, Museen, Städte etc.)

Super für Familienferien
Die Woche ist sehr schnell vergangen. Die verkehrstechnisch günstige Lage ( aber trotzdem ruhig) ermöglicht schnellen Zugang zu den Highlights des Fichtelgebirges. Am Haus gibt's nur einen klitzekleinen Mangel: der Handlauf der Treppe ins Obergeschoss muss befestigt werden.

Tolle Ausstattung im Haus
Mit 5 erwachsenen Personen war das Bauernhaus für uns ideal. Jeder hatte sein eigenes Zimmer, die Badaufteilung mit 2 Bädern und 3 Toiletten im Haus war kein Problem. Die Ausstattung im Haus kann man als außergewöhnlich bezeichnen. Es ist alles vorhanden, angefangen vom Geschirr in mehrfacher Ausführung, Geschirrspülmaschine, Waschmaschine, diverse Utensilien und nicht zu vergessen die tolle Dekoration der einzelnen Räume mit antiquaren Gegenständen. Die gemütliche Wärme des Kachelofens hat uns die Abende im Haus noch versüßt.

5 Freunde beim Bioradeln
Wir sind 5 großgewachsene seniorige Fahrradfahrer, die das Radfahren in Oberfranken, der Oberpfalz und in Böhmen, sowie das Kartenspielen am großen Küchentisch genossen haben. An die niedrige Türstockhöhe und ggf. Digital Detox gewöhnt man sich am Besten schnell. 5 Eigenversorger finden in diesem urigen, gepflegten Bauernhaus mit Charakter alles was sie brauchen. Freies WiFi gibt's bei dm, Edeka, ... in Wunsiedel.

Komplikationslos und gute Unterkunft
Wir waren mit 6 Motorradfreunden im Durchschnittsalter von 58 Jahren in Bernstein 6 untergebracht. Das Haus ist sehr rustikal und schön. Die Betten sind allerdings sehr durchgelegen und teils sehr eng. In dem meinigen war der Lattenrost so schräg eingebaut, dass ich einseitig 50mm Holz unterlegen musste um nicht immer wieder in Richtung Ausgang zu rollen. Die Gaststätten, welche im Netz Fußläufig erreichbar gewesen wären, haben leider alle dauerhaft geschlossen. Im Haus selber, hat es für eine Selbstversorgung an nichts gefehlt. Ansonsten hatten wir mega Spaß. Der Vermieter ist sofort über WhatsApp erreichbar und entgegenkommend. Anliegen und dergleichen werden sofort und unkompliziert umgesetzt.

Man ist direkt in der Natur, viele Wanderruten sind im Haus beschrieben. Im Haus ist es mit dem Kachelofen wie auf den Bildern sehr gemütlich.

Gegend zum Wandern war super. Das Haus war etwas kalt und wir brauchten 1 bis 2 Tage um es warm zu bekommen. Dann war es gut. Es war alles da was gebraucht wird. Also super ausgestattet. Für die ruhige Lage ist der direkt am Haus vorbei fahrende Verkehr nachts nicht unerheblich.

Ein schönes Objekt für einen Familienurlaub
Das Objekt eignet sich sehr gut für einen Urlaub mit Kindern. Das Haus ist sehr gräumig und gut eingerichtet. Etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig ist die steile Trppe im Haus. Alle erforderlichen Dinge für einen unbeschwerten Urlaub sind vorhanden. Der Spielplatz in unmittelbarer Nähe ist wunderschön für Kinder jeden Alters.

Altes Bauernhaus an stark befahrener Straße
Ein altes, eher dunkles Haus, das an einer stark befahrenen Straße liegt. Einrichtung gut, urige Betten. Gegend wirklich sehr schön und die Tante ist sehr freundlich und hilft bei allen Fragen. Wir haben die meisten Zeit im Hof oder auswärts verbracht.

Eine Unterkunft zum Wohlfühlen
Das liebevoll renovierte Bauernhaus war die perfekte Bleibe für unseren Familienurlaub! Dabei war der große Aufenthaltsraum mit seiner eindrucksvollen Gewölbedecke, den Koch- und Sitzmöglichkeiten stets der Mittelpunkt! Hier haben wir uns alle von 10 Monaten bis 66 Jahren sehr wohl gefühlt!

Schönes altes Haus in sehr ruhiger Umgebung. In der Küche war alles vorhanden und wirklich sauber. In den umliegenden Orten sind einige interessante Museen über das Fichtelgebirge und die Porzellanherstellung.
