Great location
We wanted a place close to Shrimp Landing as we had a fishing trip scheduled. It was perfect for what we needed. Thank you so much!

Getaway at Crystal River
We stayed here to be close to fishing and crabbing on Crystal River. We were not disappointed. We also took walks and bike rides. Being on the Gulf Coast allowed us to visit several attractions as well. The house had plenty of room, was comfortable and relaxing. Overall a good value.

Two Night Stay
My husband and I were traveling to Florida from Wisconsin and had a place rented for a week when the weather forecast turned ugly we decided to head out earlier than planned. We found this place available for the two nights we arrived early and it was perfect for us and our two miniature wiener dogs. We had a full size truck and fishing boat with trailer and had the perfect parking accommodations. Perfect layout for a VRBO. The neighbors dog barked a lot and dishwasher is loud (so be sure not to start it when you want to watch tv) but otherwise the place was perfect!! Highly recommended 😎

Clean and modern
The back yard area was very nice. The place was very clean and easily accessible. Concrete floors so I would suggest having some fuzzy socks or slippers if coming during a cooler spell. Otherwise was great.

The Review I wish I Read Prior to Booking
We were looking for a place to fit 8 (2 adults, 5 kids, 1 infant). 1. Although this place advertises that they accommodate up to 8, they WILL CHARGE YOU $45 for each person after 6. I let the owner know that one guest was an infant...so she charged us the one extra person. I decided not to make a big deal of the $45 charge despite the listing advertising that 8 guests are allowed and nothing in the description stating that they will charge you $45 after the 6th person. 2. We waited until 2 hours before check-in and still did not receive any check in information. We had to message the owner for the door code. 3. This is NOT a good area to be a visitor. Once you turn into the street, you’re greeted with piles of trash outside. There was a long extension cord that appeared to be hi-jacking electricity from one unit to another unit across the street. The houses are run down, and it looks like you’re in an episode of neighborhood Hoarders. There were holes in the roofs of some units. Our first night, we heard intoxicated neighbors fighting outside. We locked all doors and stayed away from windows. Dogs barked at night our entire stay. NOTE: Although you’re renting the unit and not the neighborhood, neighborhood safety should be a priority to any visitor. 4. The house looked 100% DIY remodel from amateurs. Kitchen base cabinets were not even measured properly so there is a large gap between the cabinet & the wall. The back door had a piece of wood holding in the window. The “closets” were some cheap Walmart garage cube contraption that were flimsy. 5. The sofa smelled like a dog had expressed its glands all over the cushions. It’s a deep fishy, pungent smell. There were flies inside the unit. Mismatched utensils were cheap…think dollar tree. We purchased paper plates, utensils, etc because they were better than what was provided. 6. OWNERS REQUIRE YOU TO WASH & FOLD used towels and put them back. I was fine with that requirement, but that was the first time I’ve ever seen that requirement from any VRBO. 7. There’s a nice backyard sitting area, however, you will need to deal with bees. A lot of them. Because the neighbor right next door to them has bee-hives and sells honey. NOTE: I was also convicted that “you get what you pay for” HOWEVER, we had several other families with us that VRBO in Crystal River, paid around the same price, and had a 100% better experience.

Close to everything! Boater’s hidden gem!
We enjoyed our stay very much! The home had everything we needed to be comfortable, and was very clean- I appreciated the homey vibe! We didn’t use the outside area but there was a really cute area with a fire pit and grill. There is a fenced in yard with a 10’ gate to store your boat. Could easily fit up to 20 foot boat behind their fence and you are literally 5 minutes from the fort island boat ramp! Would stay again!

Modern property that is close to everything
We had issues with checking in. Had to wait because the entry code was not provided and the property manager refuses to compensate us for sitting in 100 degree weather for 2 hours. We had thousands of dollars of dive gear we couldn’t leave unattended. The house wasn’t in the greatest neighborhood but it’s close to everything.

Cute & comfy place close to our 630am manatee tour
My best friend & I booked here for a girl's trip. It was perfect for us with our own bedrooms & bathrooms. Decor & furnishings are adorable & comfortable. Place is spotless clean & has everything you need. We were only 5 min away from our 630am manatee tour...just what we needed. The rental is a duplex on a dead-end road. Kristen's place is super cute & the nicest one on the street. The others don't seem to be well cared for, but it wasn't unsafe or undesirable to us. We spoke to Kristen about the neighborhood when we got to spend time with her at the property & it looks like big things are coming for that street. I would love to see what it becomes in the future. Driving around the town it seems many neighborhoods have a mixed bag of well-tended to homes surrounded by other homes that are not being as well cared for though. The location is close to everything. Visited the grocery store, went shopping downtown, ate at local restaurants & swam with manatees. Overall, everything was15 min away or less. Great spot to see all of Crystal River. The only issue that came up for us was our last night, a group of 5 checked in to the other property. Started out pretty quiet & we didn't hear much from them. Around 9pm they started to play VERY loud music, which lead to other loud behavior (talking, laughing, etc). It went on until almost 11pm when they finally left the property. With the shared wall in the living room, it was a pretty big downer. Thankfully, even with their loud bass booming in the front part of the house, we couldn't hear much of it in our bedrooms. Two women traveling alone, we weren't comfortable to go ask them to quiet down in case alcohol was involved & you never know how something like that will play out. I messaged Kristen, but it was almost 10pm & she was already asleep. She did respond to me first thing that morning though. This is not something I would hold against the place or Kristen. There are so many great things about it. It's just important to keep in mind that if both sides of the duplex are rented out that you are sharing a wall & an outdoor space. Great stay. Great host. I took 1 star off for check in because I never got instructions & I think that glitch might need to be checked on. Previous rentals I've gotten check in communications leading up to my stay. I sent Kristen a text the night before my check in, she got right back to me & I had the info first thing the next morning. Thanks for everything, Kristen!

Negative experience because of host/owner
Had a few issues from the beginning of my stay. The reason for my negative review comes mainly from my dealings with the host/owner. She was very rude and condescending; even telling me I broke her new air conditioning system (because I turned the temperature down)that I should take showers instead of baths because of the gallons and gallons of water I’m wasting. Told me twice how large her electric bill will be…. Totally a negative experience with her! House is remodeled but in a very run down neighborhood.
