Rockport isn’t your average beach town, so it’s only right that this charming 2-bedroom, 1-bath home would follow suit. A 500-year-old specimen tree twists and turns above a boardwalk patio in the yard while inside, coastal touches meet rustic furnishings for an interior as unique as Rockport itself.

Tall ceilings and vast skylights mimic the feeling of an open-air coastal estate. Driftwood chic details like paneled wooden walls and a sandy color scheme give this vacation rental all of the elegance of an upscale beach home and all of the style and comfort of a breezy getaway.

From highly rated restaurants to pristine beaches to historic natural sights, Rockport offers memorable experiences for every vacationer – all of it just a short drive away.

INSIDE THE HOUSE

Enter into a sun-drenched living area where two love seats decorated in coastal patterns, a rocking chair and a chair with ottoman are arranged around a large flat-screen TV. Hand-painted artwork hangs from a boardwalk accent wall. Adjacent, a tastefully tropical dining area seats 4 around a modern table, and 2 at the breakfast bar.

A cozy kitchen is equipped with all of the necessary appliances and overlooks the stunning backyard, where there’s plenty of seating in the shade of large live oaks. Tables, a large charcoal grill and warm Texas weather are all you need for casual BBQ nights.

An airy master bedroom features rattan décor, coastal hues and artwork that portrays the area’s rich history to truly encapsulate the Rockport experience. You’ll awake each morning in a queen-sized bed to abundant natural sun from a large skylight above. The second bedroom offers hand-drawn artwork and rattan futon. Both share a spacious tropical themed bathroom.

THE LOCATION

Slip away to immaculate beaches where laidback vacationers and locals catch waves and unwind in the sun. Just down the street from this home, a long fishing pier is where you’ll reel in speckled trout and monster bull redfish.

Immerse yourself in the area’s culture and history at the Texas Maritime Museum or Rockport Art Center. Or spend time in the great outdoors at Goose Island State Park, home to a legendary 1,000 year old Coastal Live Oak.

Near Rockport Harbor, you’ll find eclectic shops full of seashore treasures, classic comfort food at JJ’s Little Bay Café and local seafood and artwork at Latitude 28°02'.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. No more dogs are allowed.

Okay-ish
The unit is okay. Pros-quiet neighborhood. Close to the beach and town. Cold A/C. Cons- very noisy box spring. Bad flooring, cable TV wasn't working. Terrible shower head. Gosh awful mosquito infestation as soon as you walk onto the property. We literally ran from the garage to the door and rushed inside to avoid being eaten up.

Art and architecture
Driftwood Chic is a little architectural delight filled with well-chosen art everywhere you turn. The decor (particularly in the living room and main bedroom) is striking, yet cozy. Outside, in the fully fenced yard (our dog thanks you!), there are separate lawn and patio areas and magnificent trees. We felt as if we were guests in someone's private home -- and welcome guests, at that. The only drawback was that the laminate floors were warped -- especially near the front door -- and the boards made snap-crackle-popping noises every time we walked on them. Other than that -- lovely place, created by people who clearly loved it.

Wonderful
It was so nice and cozy inside and outside. Spent the mornings outside drinking coffee under the beautiful tree. Walked every day. Talked to everyone such a friendly warm area. Loved the beach and downtown area. Our pup loved it all too. People were happy to greet us even in the stores with our dog. Loved all of it.

Good Time Good Place
There is nothing wrong with this property or location so lets start with that. Location is good with a 1015 minute walk to old town. The only item I would seriously change would be the automated lock on the door. As a fellow VRBO host for over 8 years with a popular waterfront home, we never had an issue with the combination lock box and a set of keys inside. What was our experience with this electric key pad? Let me set the experience for you. 4 over 50 eyes trying to get numbers to lite up, then having to find property management messages with a stupid 10 diget code, while getting devoured by mosquitoes the size of B-52' and needing desperately to use a bathroom. So, in short, I hate electric lock access! The house itself was great. TV did not work entire time, have a feeling it is the satellite out of alignment. Still would return without hesitation, I would just remove the front door should that lock still be on it!

Old but cute
Needs lots of work. Floor boards are loose in a LOT of places and could cause a fall for older people in one place. Floor in kitchen and bedroom in front of bed was sticky. Shower head definitely needs to be replaced. Skylight in bedroom needs something to keep the sun from shining in your face while in the bed. BED definitely needs to be replaced, very old spring mattress and it makes a lot of noise!! Water filter in kitchen needs to be replaced, blinking red light indicates replacement. Had a real hard time getting in with the code being so long. Entrance to driveway off the road is very hard to get in with a car it does scrape the front or rear of the vehicle unless you go in it at an angle or have a truck. Over all it is an ok house, a little pricey and they don't offer any discounts for Veterans. Yard is supposed to be mowed on Wednesday and we got there Friday, didn't look like anything had been done. Mosquitoes were real bad at front door. Outside house facing needed to be replaced and painted. Internet wouldn't connect to tv no matter what you did and there is only one very small tv and not a smart tv in the living room. Internet speed is poor and very slow. Location is good and close to the shops and food.

Cozy & Comfortable
The house was well maintained, close to downtown for shopping, eating, and within walking distance to the bay. We also enjoyed the large fenced backyard for our fur baby. We highly recommend staying at Driftwood Chic if you’re planning a trip to Rockport. Be sure to visit the ferry at Port Aransas to visit Aransas Pass at the Gulf of Mexico, the beach is beautiful! Oyster fest was a blast

A great get away!
Suggest someone walk the unit the day of visitors arriving. Toilet not flushed from previous user, a couple of dead bugs on the floor. Still a very nice rental and filled our needs nicely.

Nice property but not very well maintained
To start the trip the code given for the door didn’t work. Then we found several large dead cockroaches The shower curtain had orange mold growing on it. The bathroom ceiling vent had a lot of dust growing on it! The home itself was fine and welcoming we loved the yard and the trees. I left my special pillow in the bed and realized it when I got home and called and let them know I left it in the master bed and said I wanted it mailed back no matter the cost. However they said the pillow was not there! It was 100% in tge master bed but they will not send it back to me which means they threw it away! We repaired things at the house and we’re willing to over look all tge imperfections but tge fact that they would not send me back an item accidentally left At my expense, is disgusting!!!!

Good last minute get away
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Clean and good fenced yard. Great big beautiful oak trees - which also means tree bugs in TX but they obviously spray and maintain them. Squeaky master bed but comfortable. Second room/futon just fine for our son. Enough kitchen gear to cook easily. Good quick weekend getaway.

Great bay town stay!
Overall, we really enjoyed this home. We loved the personal decor and the layout of the house. Our kids enjoyed their bedroom sleeping on the futon. The main bathroom was beautiful and spacious. The master bedroom was large with nice high ceilings, which we loved. A new mattress/bed frame would be nice. It was decently comfortable but extremely noisy, with loud creaks even when turning. The oak trees in the yard were absolutely beautiful, but unfortunately with all the rain the mosquitoes prevented us from being able to use the deck, even with bug repellant. The living room furniture was fun to look at but was not very comfortable. Luckily, we were out at the beach for most of our stay so we didn't actually stay in the home for much more than sleeping at night. Overall, we enjoyed this home and would come back.

Not as expected
This rental can be a little deceiving, as the pictures make the property appear much nicer then expected. I've rented for years through VRBO and this was the lowest rated place we have stayed. The location is right off busy road, so master bedroom is near this road and you hear alot of cars driving by. Although once inside the fenced area you are separated by close home on the side, Not a nice area, and pretty trashy home next door. The furniture inside this rental is pretty much for small people, not real comfortable for normal size adults. The TV is small (32") seem's odd, and all the devices attached and remotes made figuring out how to operate a task. The master bed was so noisy and not a comfortable bed. The master bath room bath shower had mildew, the towels were stained. The 2nd bedroom had a small trundle bed, made a second person very uncomfortable for sleeping. Its confusing why they wouldn't have nice beds in both bedrooms. The home was quant, and things were clean but again not perfect as cushions on furniture had stains as well as the carpet in living room. We won't rent this again. RM Temple, Texas

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely home close to bay and downtown. Very private, nice sitting area on wood deck. The furniture and bed could have been more comfortable but it was fine. Well stocked kitchen, easy to work in. They even provided a pizza cutter! I would come back if just to see the trees! They are magnificant. Unfortunately something stinging in the back yard made accessing the two in the back challanging.

It was very good and I would recommend the property. Issue#1 Garbage disposal didn’t work. Issue#2 Could not figure out the thermostat until looking it up on a Utube video. It was very frustrating. It is too complicated for rental property without any instructions.

Mserable
Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Arrived to find the home filthy. Roaches were in cabinets. Kitchen is poorly stocked at best and most items are old and crazed. Living room furniture must be at least 30 plus years old, miniature in size, low to the ground and completely worn out. There is no support and it is not made for relaxing at all. Spoke to the person in charge of home inspections and was treated like I had done something wrong and told that she thought the furniture was comfortable and cute and that the kitchen items were fine. She basically told me I was a liar. We have just moved to Rockport and bought a business that services about 2000 plus customers in the surrounding areas and I would be ashamed to employ someone like your home inspector. We were caught between a rock and a hard place waiting for our home to be completed or we would have never continued to stay. I will be sure to let everyone I come across how we were treated by your company.

Beautifully decorated, stress free hideaway with extras.
Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was my first time with a vacation rental. My wife and I were more than pleased with the site and the cost was reasonable. The on site dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer and other amenities were a great addition. The property appeared to be clean, although there were several small things that could have been better. The pocket door from the bedroom into the bath had problems staying on the track. The Accordion doors in the master bath into the closet had a roller that would "Jump" out of the end of the door if you werent careful. Not big issues just things I assume the owners would want to repair. I previously mentioned the Waterbugs, Roaches, in a previous review. It appeared that the home had been sprayed as we first began discovering sick/dying bugs the first night we stayed. The numbers increased as the week went by until I was killing several a night. I'm not squeamish about bugs, but was concerned about bringing them home. Overall we had a great time. T
