Last minute skiing getaway

We took a last minute ski trip to the poconos and stayed at this property for 2 nights. The location is excellent for both big boulder and Jack Frost. Plenty of space for the family, each of our kids had their own room. The host was incredibly responsive to all questions and requests. Thank you for accommodating us on short notice and making our trip enjoyable!

Family getaway

We stayed in the chalet for three nights. It is a large roomy house with plenty of living space. It is well maintained and clean. Nice furnishings. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. We did not need to use the upstairs rooms which can sleep additonal guests. The outside area could be cleaned up better and would be more enjoyable to use. Also, labels on light switches would have been helpful as we arrived after dark and had to find our way around especially since the entry room has no light. Location was great for our purpose and the entire Locust Lake Village makes for a quiet get away.

Great last minute option

Our original plans fell through so we scrambled to find something the day before we booked! We were very happy that Kamal was able to accommodate us. The house was large enough for the family to spread out and relax. The second floor had AC window units which Kamal had turned on and ready for our arrival. (We arrived during a heat wave) The neighbors and everyone we met at the lake were so nice and friendly. Checking in at the front desk was super easy, they answered all of our questions. We will definitely be back.

Our Christmas do-over

Covid derailed our family's Christmas celebration in December, so we decided to get together here over the long Presidents Day weekend to recreate it. We enjoyed our gathering and had a wonderful time together as a family. Pros: The house was spacious, it had plenty of room for all 10 of us. It was close to Jack Frost, where most of the family went to ski and snowboard. Our host was cordial, answered all my questions (I'm a first time VRBO user), and was generally available when problems arose. The kitchen area was nice and had everything we needed. Cons: The house is dated, it needs modernization in quite a few areas, including the carpeting, and is oddly laid out. There's a lot of strange wasted space. My main complaint is that there are 3 gas fireplaces listed, but ONE DAY before we got there, the host messaged me that we were forbidden to use ANY of them. I was sincerely disappointed, this was the main reason that I picked the house. I wanted to open our Christmas gifts in the living room with the ambiance of its fireplace. I messaged him back to address this, but he ignored it and never gave me a reason. While we were there, a tree came down on the power lines near the house and we were without power for 6-8 hours on one of the coldest nights of the year. It sure would've been nice to be able to use the fireplaces for a bit of heat and light. The host did offer to let us check out late on the day we left, presumably to make up for the time of the lost power. When we first walked in the house, there was a half of a cracker on the coffee table in the living room, used food in the refrigerator and 2 pairs of someone's boots sitting next to the back door. The garbage disposal was out of service, but that wasn't a big thing to us. We were required to take all our trash to the community disposal, there was no trash pickup or storage, which was a bit of an inconvenience. We made lots of memories and enjoyed our weekend, but would not book this property again without some improvements.
