Perfect Staycation

My kids and I live nearby but decided to celebrate our big birthdays this year by doing a staycation. It was perfect! The house had everything we needed, the location was incredible, and the private beach parking access was a nice surprise! I highly recommend this house for families with kids!

Great stay!

A great cottage down the street from the beach and close to local restaurants and shopping. The home was very clean and modern. The kitchen was well equipped with anything you would need to cook for a family. Loved this home and location!

Buyer beware

The 4 bunk beds we discovered were for children under age six only. These bunk beds were advertised as for adults. These were not for adults. Very disappointed because my 6 foot tall son couldn’t sleep well on the bottom bunk without hitting his head several times. The house is a up a flight of stairs which was not in the listing description and was a problem for my arthritic dog. The house thermostat was on the second floor and was annoying when we needed to adjust the temperature which was often because the house was exceptionally drafty. The bedding was polyester sheets and a very thin cover (not a blanket) on each bed. This was unacceptable because we all were freezing at night because it was December. There were no blankets to be found in any closet or drawers any where. Each person was had only one towel and one wash cloth. We had to ration the use of the towels which was ridiculous. There were signs in every room about how to check out which consisted of doing half of the housekeepers job. They also wanted you to run the dishwasher on the express was vs. the sanitizing cycle which concerns me given that this is cutting corners. We have stayed in other VRBO properties, this one was a poor experience. We also asked prior to our arrival about beach towels, and they do not offer them because of theft. So, they must have a bath towels theft issue too. The only positive things about this property is the location and they allow pets.

Family Get Together

We somehow managed to find dates for a long weekend that me, my husband, and my adult children could all get together. This home worked out perfectly! You feel at home as soon as you walk through the door. We had a one year old grandchild with us who loved the play room! What a nice surprise that was! The beach has some of the most beautiful water we've ever seen! The beach access parking space makes for an easy walk. Restaurants are within walking distance, and everyone we encountered was so friendly. We all had a lovely time!

Just-right space for 4 adults; clean, well appointed kitchen; comfy, full-sized beds; quick, easy walk to the beach; incredibly convenient access to Flips Flops donuts, Circle Pizza, and Village Market. This was just great!

Nice cottage!!

We enjoyed this quiet neighborhood very much. This was our second time. Great for walking to the beach and restaurants so near to cottage. I just wished the weather could have been better. Still had a relaxing stay.

Wonderful beach house

Updated beach house with fully stocked kitchen. We rented this in between Christmas and New Years. The house was clean. I could easily cook in the updated kitchen. We had 5 adults and 2 dogs ( with crates) who fit comfortably. Walk to the beach wasn’t bad. Beach was beautiful. So many things to do in the area. My husband said it was the nicest beach house we have rented over the years.

Family-friendly house

Beautiful renovations inside and out! We loved the children’s bedroom and play loft and the thoughtful details around the house. It had everything we needed! The only thing we did not love was the lack of any view: the house is directly across from the back alley of the business across the street, so windows from the dining room / kitchen area faced garbage cans and alley trash. Not what we expected!

Perfect beach getaway

I was actually nervous to arrive at the house because it looked so nice in the online pictures, I was worried they were stock photos! But everything is just as nice as it looks online. The location is very convenient to shops and restaurants and just a short walk or drive to the beautiful, uncrowded beach. Everything was clean when we checked in, the kitchen was stocked with whatever you might need and all the appliances and furniture (even deck and beach chairs) seemed new. I’d definitely stay here again.

First time's a charm!

First time vacationing on Emerald Isle. We definitely plan on a future trip. This property was very nice and the owner was fantastic in responding to any questions we had. I highly suggest renting a golf cart while there. It's a fun way to explore the area and a great way to lug all your gear to the beach if you choose not to drive to a beach. The beach is super close so walking is a nice way to go, too.

Excellent place at the beach!

This house was perfect for our family. Everything looked brand new and the beds were very comfortable. Loved being able to use the private parking area at the beach. We will definitely be back next year. Bri, the property manager was wonderful to work with and answered any questions promptly. This was a terrific vacation for our family.

Beautiful Property, Close to Beach

Our family of five and our dog enjoyed our stay at the Ripple property. Everything is freshly updated and clean! The listing was accurate and the owners were VERY responsive to every question! We'd recommend walking to the beach (bring a wagong!) and using the public access entrance to the left to be in a less crowded area of the beach. It was like a private beach. Near the pier is much busier, so it depends on your preference. Surf & pier fishing are available with a bait & tackle store very close by. Plan to mostly cook your meals or order pizza as there are few restaurants and they get crowded. Mini golf not far away, but mostly a quiet week. Enjoy!

house in lovely beach neighborhood

we really loved this VRBO. Location within a quiet, shady neighborhood a pleasant walk from the beach and a even shorter walk to donuts, restaurants and shops. The kitchen was both beautiful and functional - with plenty of good pans and utensils. Comfortable beds, beach gear and bright, happy decor. The owners were responsive and wonderful to work with. We loved Emerald Isle and the house and would love to come back!

Modern, stylish, well appointed and close to the beach

Beautiful cottage freshly renovated and clean. Just a short walk to the beach, walking trails, and restaurants. The house is charming, with a perfect little play nook for the kids off their bedroom. Little touches with sound machines in each bedroom, extra fans, shampoo and shower gel made for an extra smooth start to our vacation. Owners immediately responded to a question I had and could not have been more helpful. Highly recommend this rental for a small family getaway. We felt right at home!
