If expecting five star accommodations with night life go to waikiki. Expecting as advertised stay here. Wonderful property is the perfect quite location. Hosts were quick to answer questions Hosts are quick to answer
Location was wonderful and easy to get on highway to travel anywhere. This was booked to be close to Bellows AFB- closest rental to it!All linens were provided, even beach towels. Main bed was comfortable; it was a double. Front room had additional bed that was similar to a queen futon mattress (not a futon though on an elevated wood box as seen in picture). Extras we didn’t need, though were there: keurig, microwave, charcoal grill, hair dryer, beach umbrella & chairs.Ear plugs available if you don’t want to hear rooster. Chickens & roosters were not a problem; they probably keep bugs away. Would recommend to friends!
The home provided everything we needed for a perfect getaway. It was comfortable, cozy, and private, offering a relaxing retreat. The beach was absolutely beautiful, just as we had hoped. Parking was convenient and easily accessible, which made our stay even more stress-free. The drive to explore other areas wasn’t bad at all, but be mindful that many places close early, so plan your time wisely. One unique and unexpected experience was seeing wild chickens and roosters everywhere, roaming free they wake up early so wear the ear plugs if you plan to sleep in. Would definitely recommend this place and look forward to returning!
We were there to wind down in the evening and sleep. The large bed didn’t have a mattress, just a pad. Very comfortable. It’s a good thing we were tired. The rest of the cottage was more than adequate and the beach was really close.
Had a family emergency and had to leave after one day. Place wasn’t as clean as it stated. But again we were only there 1 night.

1 block from beach correct but not quiet!
The rooster started in around 0430 every morning. Hardly a quiet place. It would have been helpful to have an "INFO" sheet availaible, i.e. you need to turn on propane tank for cooktop to work! There was no place to put luggage except on the floor, luggage racks would be helpful! Kitchen faucet handle was broken and continually fell off and there was no outlet in bathroom! The bathroom had no place to hang your towel. The amenities i.e. towels, etc. were nice however.
The location was great for beach access and privacy but fell way sorry if it expectations in every other way.
The surrounding foliage was lovely but hard to enjoy with chickens running free throughout the property. A bit of a chicken poo obstacle course.
The main living space bed was firm enough to use as a table but not ideal if you want a soft place to lay your head.
The heat and lack of ocean breeze made the spaceit feel more like a sauna or sweat lodge than a comfortable vacation stay
Once we arrived we didn’t Even stay- not as advertised-
Arrived and two bedroom is a one bedroom with make shift wooden crate with a mattress pad on top . One chair in corner wasn’t going to work.
No towel bar or single hook for bathroom.
Was on mom’s birthday trip -turned 76 no way she could make the place work.
With one lamp in corner opposite side of room from door to bedroom impossible for her to find restroom in dark if we stayed .
VRBO TEIP PROTECTION PLAN - is a joke !
Said I need further pictures to cover - I didn’t stay day one so day three when I went back for pictures and it was locked ! If your not willing to credit place - how do lock a person out after VRBO asked for pictures! Said they contacted you to let you know I was coming-
I guess why would you let me get pictures-
THEY HAD THERE MONEY.
as a DAV - neither bed would of worked with my back - Complete Loss save your time and money
I come to Honolulu often to visit my elders. For me, I have a hard time parting with ~$100/night on resort fees, parking fees, and valet tips. That’s a lot of malasadas! Especially when I don’t like a hotel pool and I want to drive a lot.
This space is very quiet and so close to peaceful Waimanalo beach. The use of plants as a border barrier makes it even more a private paradise. Chickens and cats and mongooses, oh my (goodness how wonderful!)!
The mattresses are firm and fans keep the air moving. Personally, I needed bug spray and the citronella candles. So, if you’re sweet-blooded like me, come prepared.
A full-sized fridge and stove are much appreciated, to keep food costs manageable. (No microwave though.)
The shower is wee, but still very usable for a “juicy sized” middle-aged woman like me.
Very convenient for getting to the beach, food, and the post office. Straight shot down to Hanauma Bay/Koko Crater, if you’d like.
Enjoy!
