Very relaxing stay!
Owner Brain was very nice, greeted us when we arrived. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed! We cooked breakfast and dinner and all we had to bring was the food. Brian had great supplies…dishes, pans, a can opener etc. Our stay was perfect…just what we were looking for :)

Nice stay
The property is lovely with a beautiful view of the sunrise. Be warned - there is a rooster, but it doesn't take long to get used to him. An overall good place to stay when visiting friends!

Beautiful setting, quality structure log cabin /chalet
Really a great home has everything you need. We were at a wedding weekend so basically just slept there and changed clothes. It was a raw rainy weekend but the house with grand fire was coming cozy. As previous people have mentioned the living room furniture is a little beyond dated but comfy. Bedrooms spacious, beds comfortable. I would go back

Comfortable, spacious, and quiet. Great location and owner was very responsive to questions.
Exactly what we wanted - beautiful location; clean, quiet, spacious house with all conveniences. Close enough to the small town but far enough to enjoy the quiet Vermont experience. Owner was helpful and responsive.

Perfect cabin!
This cabin was perfect! The quiet, woods setting and amazing views was exactly what we were looking for during our vacation! We loved how it was only 15 minutes away from the cute towns and shops, but also only minutes away from great hiking! Brian was also very nice and had everything we needed! I highly recommend using the grill when you stay because you'll love cooking dinner looking at the summits of the Green Mountains in the back yard :)

Very comfortable space in a quiet spot that is close to many places and activities we love
This was our 7th year staying here. We always find it convenient, quiet, nice setting. Plenty of room for guests or family and to entertain. Owner lives in separate on property, very nice person, never intrudes but always available if a problem arises.

Peaceful Open Bright Cabin
We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It is a short drive to Manchester with all of its shopping outlets and restaurants. We spend school vacation week skiing Stratton which was a short pretty 30 minute drive. The cabin has everything you might need from coffee makers to pots and pans, washer dryer, cable television, and wifi. With its three bedrooms, two baths, and a loft, the cabin can comfortably accommodate two families with kids. Brian was always very quick to respond to any questions we had. We would enthusiastically recommend the cabin to anyone. We had a great time and made memories that will last a lifetime!

Great, well appointed property in beautiful setting.
The log cabin is spacious, airy and filled with light but in a hot July well equipped with AC and fans. This was within three miles of the wedding we attended so very convenient yet tucked away in a pastoral setting. We had two babies with us so the kitchen and well working appliances were very helpful. Over all this was a great place to stay in a lovely town in Vermont.

Nice home
nice home. nothing special. good fore it price. do not take upstairs bedroom if you have a little child with you because it really colder than other rooms. also owner leaves in neighbor home (can see it on a pictures) and be ready if he can come to you without call or any notice. just because he need something in rented home. he is nice guy but it could be "surprise" like it was for my wife when she left alone with a child (all of us been at killington slopes) at home and unknown men came for something. all other is ok. we got some problems with a showers , Brian fix it really fast. Thanks. Dmitry

Exceeded all our expectations!! Wonderful family retreat from a gracious host!
The owner Brian, truly thought of everything with this property and to make our Christmas trip memorable. From the process of booking(which for us started in August) to the "exactly as represented" pictures and other reviews posted; we would highly recommend this chalet to anyone. Brain had a Christmas tree waiting for our arrival and every amenity we could ask for. Although we had originally booked the location hoping for ski weather, there was plenty to occupy us in the neighboring towns (Manchester/Bennington- a short drive away) and on the property when Mother Nature failed to cooperate. There would be little that we could criticize on this property with the small exception of 'man-grade' lighting in the bathrooms that the 20- something girls in our group thought difficult to primp under-lol. All in all a very pleasurable and wonderful experience. We will definitely be back again- no matter what the weather!!

Great house & superb service provided by the owner
I would like to thank the owner, Brian, for letting us rent his wonderful house! He gave us a very good deal on a very last minute reservation. The house is excellent to sleep up to 10 people, including couches. Rooms and bathrooms are well-kept. The house is very warm, especially in the common area.. thanks to the fireplace. The rooms are a bit cooler, but layers of blankets were provided so it did the job. It also has a Direct TV connection that kept us entertained at nights after a long day on the slopes. It's about 30 mins away from Stratton, which is not bad at all. The best part of it all was that Brian was very accommodating. I called him up a few times during our stay to ask a couple of things and he was very nice and kind! My group and I would definitely come back here!

A Terrific Place for a Family Vacation!
My extended family had a weekend retreat that consisted of 4 small children, ages 3 through 7, and 6 adults. The 10 of us all under one roof. We were nervous that there wouldn't be enough room, but the cabin has 3 nice sized bedrooms and a very large loft. It was plenty big. All the amenities are as described, and everything was in working order. The home was clean and the owner is an extremely nice man and very easy to work with. He has a small home on the property, but keeps to himself, gives you your space, and you'd never know he was there. The home is truly beautiful and well maintained. I would recommend it to anyone. The kids enjoyed playing football and other games in the large yard, and going on walks through this beautiful area. You are centrally located between the towns of Bennington and Manchester, both of which we visited for local attractions, and on occasion, to dine out and stock the refrigerator. I recommend the Sunnyside Diner as a good local breakfast place in Bennington, and the PriceChopper as the grocery store, both in Bennington. The only thing I could mention that could be a negative for you, but wasn't an issue for us, is that both showers are inside above-ground tubs. You have to step in and out. Yet, it wasn't a big deal for my 68 year old mother with a hip replacement, although I worried a bit. I initially searched for homes with a wood burning fireplace. I suppose I am a traditionalist. As it turned out, this was a non-issue and I didn't miss the mess or fuss AT ALL. Having WiFi was terrific, and a must for us, and although it wasn't the speed I am accustomed to at home, it did just fine. My kids were able to watch Netflix and stream video without issue. We did several loads of laundry, which was convenient, and the owner provided everything necessary from laundry detergent to towels and bedding. We searched quite a bit before deciding to rent this home. It's got great value for the money. If you choose to stay there, you will be disappointed.

Beautiful weekend getaway!
We highly recommend this beautiful and comfortable cabin to anyone. We were 5 adults, but it has place for at least 3 more people. Large French doors allowed us to enjoy the fall colors even when we were lounging in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped and the fireplace is wonderful. Wifi was an added plus, but not more than one person could browse at a time since the speed was low. Overall an ideal vacation rental with close proximity to sights and shops.

Wonderful Cabin in a Great Location
This is a wonderful cabin in a great location. Spacious, sunny open floor plan makes for "easy living." In a quiet rural setting, yet near ski areas and attractions in Bennington and Manchester. Brian, the owner, is a pleasure to do business with. We've come here for three summers in a row and can't recommend this rental more highly!

Great enviroment
This cabin was perfect, it was secluded and peaceful and not too far from a smaller town with everything you need. Along with the trails and the very clean and nice looking cabin I would not have chose anywhere else. Thank you Brian for letting us stay in your vacation home.

Great weekend Get-Away
We had a great weekend away at this rental property. The house was beautiful and well-maintained. It was clean and comfortable. Our group included 6 adults--3 couples--and the space was more than adequate for our needs. We really enjoyed the gas fireplace--it turned on with the flip of a switch and really warmed up the entire house. Wi-fi in the house was a nice amenity. The open space of the living/dining room/kitchen allowed everyone to hang out together. The proximity to Manchester was really a plus. We made several trips into town over the course of the weekend for shopping, dinner, and skiing at Bromley. Minor complaints include the beds not being the most comfortable and the showers were a bit tight due to being clawfoot tubs--better suited for baths, I guess. Overall, everyone in our group had a great time and we would recommend this home.

Fabulous location!
We would heartily recommend this house for anyone's visit to Vermont. The house was in a perfect location, quiet and peaceful with beautiful scenery. It was also nice to have two of the bedrooms on the first floor and washer/dryer in the basement. We enjoyed walks down the country road and the wild turkeys in the yard almost every day. Everything was conveniently located within a 10 mile radius. The house was well-equipped, beds comfortable and we enjoyed the gas fireplace every night. We especially enjoyed our visits to Manchester just 9 miles up the road. So much to see and do. Some of the local restaurants we loved were "Jonathan's Table, Up For Breakfast and Chauncey's. Food was outstanding. We also enjoyed cooking in the house and relaxing on the deck for morning coffee. Make sure you visit "Hildene", the home of Robert Todd Lincoln just outside of Arlington.
