Summary:
This charming single family home is located in the quaint seafood village of Bayou La Batre, AL. At this beautifully restored 1874 home, you’re only 20 minutes away from the white sandy beaches of Dauphin Island, 30 minutes south of the city of Mobile and 45 minutes east of Biloxi, MS. (If you have time, take a day trip to New Orleans, which is only an hour and 45 minutes away!).

We hope you enjoy your stay and are able to get out and explore the beautiful Gulf Coast during your visit!

The Neighborhood:
Bayou La Batre, known as the seafood fishing village of the Gulf Coast is a small community centrally located to many popular Gulf Coast attractions. Less than a 1/2 mile away from this home is the best seafood restaurant on the entire Gulf Coast, Catalina Seafood. Come in and taste that day's freshest local catch, ranging from Fried Flounder to Royal Reds Shrimp to the owners home made Gumbo. Fresh seafood doesn't get better than this!

Other Things to Note:
Pets: No cats allowed! Dogs are allowed with a $75 fee per dog. There is a maximum of two dogs no larger than 75 pounds each. Dogs who are categorized as "dangerous" or "aggressive" according the ASPCA are not allowed. Please let us know if you're bringing your furry friend so we can add the appropriate pet fee, as the Airbnb website does not have a spot for us to add the fee. The fee will be added to the cost of your nightly charge. Guests must keep dogs on a leash when outdoors, and clean up after their pets. Guests who bring a dog without notification could face penalty.

A few issues, but overall great stay

My friends and I stayed at this property for a week. It had great access to dauphin island, and the bayou la Batre area had a lot to offer in and of itself. The house was beautiful, but we did run into some maintenance issues. However, communication with the property manager was super smooth, and the issues we reported to them were resolved quickly. There were also some issues with the cleanliness of bedding and towels, which the property manager was very apologetic about. Overall, though there were a few bumps, we really enjoyed our time at this property!

Spacious Lovely Home

We were amazed at the beauty and space this home offered. It was fully stocked with everything to make our stay enjoyable. The kids enjoyed the board games while the adults enjoyed the privacy. Great getaway

We stopped in Bayou La Batre for 3 days on our way to Florida. This is a great location to explore Dauphin Island, Bayou La Batre, and the Alligator Farm. The local restaurants were so close, and the food & service was wonderful. The house is beautiful and the grounds are well maintained, Thanks for your hospitality

Fantastic property but on a busy busy street

The house is newly renovated, and it is very nice inside. The tall ceilings make it look a bit spartan, but it has a cost feel. The kitchen is big and spacious, but it is lacking in dinnerware. The faucet was not functioning properly, which we reported. The manager was very prompt and said someone would fix it. They did not. It made doing dishes very challlenging. Overall, however, it was a great house inside. The main drawback to this property is it is on one of the primary roads through town. Very noisy at night, with cars, and sirens passing by the whole time we were there. The house is well insulated, but you can very much hear things, and the windows look out over the road. If you want to get away from it all, this is not the place.

Awesome Home Away from Home

Great place to stay, easy peasy setup and some nice food places nearby. Easy access to kayak in surrounding areas and a bit jealous that people can live life that way everyday. Will definitely keep our eyes open for when the house is available as we will return.

Fast internet and new smart TVs in the living room, master bedroom and second bedroom. The kitchen has a crock pot, toaster, and all the dishes you will need! Spices, coffee etc. This is a perfect setting for couples or families to relax! Dauphin Island with beautiful beaches, fishing and nature areas is only 20 min away! The best seafood restaurant on the entire Gulf Coast, Catalina is 2 mins away. Or visit the local Murder Point oyster shop 1 minute away to taste the best oysters in the US.
