Beautiful, clean, great location, hot tub, fire pit, grill, large porches and excellent WIFI!
A tastefully decorated new Swedish-inspired build with 16 foot high ceilings, an open floor plan, large covered porches, fire pit and a private new hot tub. Inside find a beautiful living space consisting of locally-sourced oak and knotty pine walls, hickory flooring, cherry cabinets and lots of windows overlooking a vast forest. Enjoy colorful sunrises and sunsets from this hill top cabin that overlooks 91 acres of private woods.
There is fabulous hiking on our property's trails (find fairies in our whirly twirly fairy trail, get lost in the maze of confusion and hike the settler's grave yard). This property is adjacent to Waterloo Wildlife Area (2300 acres) and Zaleski State forest surrounds it. Explore the area (Lake Hope's Old Hollow Cave and Pioneer Cemetery trail is amazing). This property is in a great location between to a hip college town (Athens) and amazing Hocking Hills region.

Relaxing

The cabin was perfect and had all of the things that we needed!There is so much natural light that comes in from the windows!Back porch and fire pit area were nice and easy with having dogs! There is a trail right behind the cabin and it was very enjoyable! We were happy to have met Dale! He is a great property assistant!

We enjoyed our stay. Beautiful view off the back deck. Hot tub was clean and enjoyable.Wished it would have been more isolated. It is right off the road, low traffic but you could hear it off the back deck.

Great getaway!

We enjoyed our stay here very much! It was very clean, very cozy and comfortable! The sun coming in the windows at sunset was beautiful! Everything you’ll need to cook in for breakfast, lunch and dinner was available, plenty of cooking utensils , pots, pans, plates etc. we would definitely stay here again!

Hocking Hills New Marshfield Stay

This was mine and my husband's first visit to the Hocking Hills area. Found this place in New Marshfield and it was perfect for us. The host was great right from the start, answering all my questions regarding what to do in the area and even shifting the date of our booking with ease. The place was meticulously clean and very well maintained. Bright interior, very comfortable beds, nice bathroom and washer and dryer available. We will definitely be returning.

The cabin was exactly as described- the kitchen was very well stocked! The hosts were super helpful with any questions we had and helped to make the weekend so special! The hot tub was clean and well kept with a gorgeous view of the sunset. Overall a 10/10 experience!

Everything was good. The only complaint was is took a long time to warm up the place due to the cold temperatures during the week. Once it warmed up we were good. Loved the layout of the cabin. Would definitely stay again.

Cozy, modern and spacious!

The property was amazing! The house was clean with lots of room. One of the things we were looking for was a cozy place, that allowed for pets but we prefer a slightly more modern look and feel and this place was great. The back patio was very relaxing. You are also very close to the local state parks, less than 20 minutes or hocking hills if you wanna go there you’re less than 40 minutes away. We would definitely stay again.

Great Place to Stay

We came to the area to hike and enjoy the fall colors. This cabin is great. Central to many wonderful hiking trails. Even one right out the back door. It has all the comforts of home and many special touches. If we are in the area again we would definitely stay here again. Thank you for making this place available.

Always a great stay!

Love coming here. Third year in a row that my wife and I have stayed at this cabin. I rated this a 5/5 overall, even though there was a scheduling issue with cleaning, but communication with the manager was great and everything was taken care of in a timely manner. Absolutely no complaints! We will most definitely be staying here again. Love the location!

Peace, beauty, comfort!

The moment we walked into the cabin we were drawn to the warmth - couldn't wait to spend time on the amazing deck! We have stayed in many cabins throughout the country - this one of the best - windows bathe you in forest scenery, hot tub and beds comfy, kitchen with everything you need for a wonderful meal. This cabin in on a beautiful country road, but not too far from activities and Ohio University in Athens - Go for it - you won't be sorry - for sure. Thanks to the hosts - good communication and welcomed our dog. Perfect!

Great secluded stay!

This was the first time our pup traveled with us, and this cabin was perfect! Plenty of space for him to run around outside. So quiet and refreshing to be out on the back porch or sitting by the fire pit! The kitchen was very well stocked with utensils and Lauren was very communicative. The cabin was overall very clean!

About the host

Hosted by Lauren Dick

Lauren and Andy Dick moved to the Athens, Ohio area in 1994 to attend Ohio University and Hocking College. It was here that we fell in love with each other and the Southeastern Ohio Region. In 2000, we purchased our first beautiful four acres and cABIN adjacent the to the Waterloo Wildlife and Research Area. Over the past 22 years we have continued to expand our ownership of more property in this magical place. As of May 2021, we celebrated our acquisition of additional acreage now total 91 acres.
It has been our dream to share the peace and serenity of Waterloo Woods with others who desire to get away from it all and rejuvenate. This newly built cabin on our property, as see here on VRBO, has made that dream a reality for us. We take great pride in assuring our guest stay in a private, clean, serene and welcoming environment.

This property is incredible! Hike through our amazing woods, through the whirly twirly fairy forest, up hill to the cemetery or down hill to the pond area. There are beautiful exposed rock faces, creeks and wildlife abound.
