Enjoyed our Stay
Overall, the cabin suited our stay. The cabin lacks central heating and has a lot of glass windows, so the first morning was freezing cold, but it took us a couple of days to figure out how to balance out all of the space heaters to fully heat the place. After that the place was cozy and comfortable. We lost our Wi-Fi for a few hours one morning, but it came back somehow. There's no cell service, so the Wi-Fi is essential.

Enjoyed the Rustic A-Frame
Rustic? Yes. Great Location? Yes. Affordable? Yes. Ours was a group of three old men who have been coming to ski at TSV for over 25+ years. We've stayed at prob 10 -15 locations throughout the valley (at base, in valley, in town). Based on my experience, for the proximity to the resort, this is good affordable option. Everything in the cabin worked as advertised. Previous reviews mentioned issues with hot water. We had zero issues with the hot water. Plenty of hot water (on demand) during our stay. This was an enjoyable experience for us and the other old dudes in the group said they would be happy to stay there again.

Issues
TLDR: good location but issues with water and owner so better off staying anywhere else I’ll start by saying that we accidentally booked the wrong weekend. Owner said no cancel + refund because it was too close to the dates. That was understandable, and our problem, so we decided to come anyways and took the time off. The owner seems to believe our water issues were part of a grand conspiracy to get a refund. Upon arriving late at night, we had no water in the cabin. This was problematic because the closest store still open was around 30 mins away. We tried messaging the owner through the app to no avail. The next morning we awoke to a message from her stating that we had to flip the switch on the breaker to turn on the water pump. She had apparently left a voicemail earlier in the day prior, but I did not see it because I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognize as I am constantly bombarded with sales calls - I also did not see her voicemail. She did not communicate through the app or leave any indication at the house that this pump needed to be turned on. So we turned on the pump - it worked for all of 10 minutes before stopping. This was not fixed until later that day. Then, once the pump started working, there was no hot water. 2 in our group took cold showers. The next day the owner called us liars and that the water worked fine. We decided to check out 1 day early as a result as we wanted to take hot showers and didn’t want to deal with her.

Overpriced underwhelming
Looking for a overpriced place without hot water? This is the place for you. This was our rough experience in January of 2024, no working water the first 2 nights of our stay and no hot water the remainder. The host's response was "boil water for a tub" no thank you that'd take 6 hours. Very disappointed with the hospitality of the host. Luckily we're used to dry cabins backcountry skiing which was what our trip amounted to. You can probably do better, elsewhere.

Not what I expected
To start they don’t mention the narrow small bridge turn off highway. The place was grown OVER like a jungle and had NOT been taken care off. Pic depicted a nice cabin by the stream. I would say its just a little less than that. Window in/on loft where we had wanted to sleep and listen to the creek was sealed over so you could not let any heat out of the shack/cabin or listen to the outside stream. Front or side or both entry are a little sketchy on the build. I have pic if anyone wants to see the truth of if it all. Bbrad3 at ya hoo!

Such an amazing place to stay for hitting up the slopes everyday!!!
We loved staying here. The location is great for skiing and the creek next to the house just makes the property more beautiful. There were four of us (2 couples) and having the three rooms for options gave everyone a choice.

Great Ski Cabin
If you are heading to New Mexico to ski Taos this is the perfect place to stay. The A-frame has all the basics in the kitchen to cook meals, a wood burning stove to stay warm, 3 comfy queen size beds and a short drive to the resort. The owner was great at communication and responded immediately to answer any of my questions. Would stay again.

Christmas Family Getaway
We had a good experience at the cabin for the Christmas holiday. We were expecting a somewhat rustic experience, and the cabin delivered (read the information manual upon check in, it will fill you in). We loved how close it was to the ski slopes and to town, and the cabin had everything we needed.

Rustic, a little basic
Wood burning oven heat was difficult to regulate. Electrical system in house looked retrofitted, some sockets didn’t work or were intermittent. TV very basic, you better have a streaming service. The house had a lot of flies & dead flies under upstairs bed. It could use an upgrade to the heating system given the cold weather in Taos Ski Valley. I was disappointed and uncomfortable, I looked forward to leaving. I’d give it a 4/10

This was our 4th or 5th stay at Mindy's A frame cabin and again it was a wonderful experience! The location is beautiful and the cabin was so comfy and clean. We hated to leave and hope we can return again next summer. Thank you, Mindy for making your property available to us. We love it so much! 💕💕

Cozy Cabin
We have stayed here twice and have enjoyed our both our stays. We love sitting outside next to the Rio Hondo. The cabin is great but not a lot of seating for a group - it was perfect for just the two of us. The location is great, lots of hikes and we love grabbing food and popping into the shops of the Village of Arroyo Seco.

Cozy home close to Taos Ski Valley
Amazing place! Plenty of sleeping space for the four of us, could've fit a couple more in. The wood stuff keeps the place nice and toasty! Very close to Taos Ski Valley. Comfy beds, good shower. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the house!

Wonderful little cabin close to the ski mountain
Enjoyed this little cabin this past Christmas. Very quaint and well equipped. A few things you should know 1) If you come in winter make sure you have 4Wheel Drive and potentially chains. We got stuck several times and also helped dig the neighbors out. The highway plow socked us in the driveway on a powder day and it took us over an hour to get out to the road. 2) There are neighbors right across the street and as a rental, they often leave the lights on all night long. Additionally the hot tub off their deck is nearest to the cabin and you can hear them partying. So, if you are looking for a secluded quiet place, it might not be as off the beaten path as you had hoped. If you want to hang with the neighbors-- then great!

The cutest cabin, at the perfect spot in the mountains!
We had the BEST time in New Mexico! The cabin was perfect, and had everything that we needed and more! We loved the the Rio Hondo that ran right by the cabin! Getting to hear it run was the highlight of the trip! It was so relaxing! We couldn’t have gotten a better spot! So much to see! The views are breathtaking! We will definitely be back! Thank you Mindy for sharing your home with us! You were awesome!

Charming Cabin
We stayed in this cabin for three nights with our dog and really enjoyed our stay! It’s in a great location and we especially enjoyed the sounds of the water right outside our window. I will say, I can’t imagine coming with a group of people—it’s a bit tight inside and only seating for 2 in the living room. Would definitely stay here again though.

Reminds me of Camp when I was a kid.
As mentioned in several of the reviews for this cabin, it is in an excellent location to enjoy what this part of New Mexico has to offer. “Rustic” is the operative word. (It is even used as part of the wi-fi password! Which works fine by the way). The pictures accurately show the place. Think more like what camp was like as a kid, than glamor camping. The bed my wife and I used was very comfortable, and better than some we found in other Vbro home rentals. The kitchen was not lacking anything, if cooking is your thing. We visited from Dallas Texas, off-season, so “Secluded” is the second word that comes to mind. With almost no one around, the nice well stocked fire pit, with stacking Adirondack chairs, next to a babbling stream is either cozy and private, or spooky depending on your perspective. Exploring at this altitude was a little more challenging than I was prepared for. Should have followed hostess Mindy’s suggested direction to a panoramic overlook that was a bit more Senior Friendly.

Great getaway location
This cabin was perfect for a quiet family getaway (four adults). Close enough to Taos Ski Valley and town for easy hiking access and amenities, but secluded enough to feel like a peaceful retreat. Internet speed was great when we needed to do some work, the kitchen was well-equipped with spices and a variety of cooking vessels, and we really enjoyed the fire pit above the creek. Would happily stay again when we return to the area!
