Welcome to the Shadyside Lodge, a cozy two-bedroom two-story home in the heart of Shadyside that is professionally managed. This renovate house has been furnished by a professional interior designer with a luxury-contemporary touch. This space features a private backyard area with a picnic table and lights, a large 65 inch smart TV, a Keurig coffee maker with complementary pods and much more. We can’t wait to be your host!

The Space

The living room has a pull out sofa futon and a large 65 inch smart TV. The kitchen has a dining room table and a stool table for guests to enjoy their meals. In addition, the kitchen comes fully stocked with cooking utensils and a stainless stove, fridge, and dishwasher. You can also use the Keurig (and complementary creamer, sugar, and coffee pods) as well as the toaster. Upstairs you will find one room with a nice queen bed, desk, closet, and dresser. The other room has two full beds, a closet, and a nice work desk. All of our mattresses and linens are highly researched and highly rated.

Guest Access

You will have full access to the entire property. We usually will park right out front of Shadyside Lodge or on Summerlea St. You technically need a residential parking permit but we have never actually received a ticket. If you want to be extra cautious, you can park at Shadyside Centre Commons which is located at 5750 Centre Ave and costs $10.00 per 24 hours.

Other Details to Note

To maintain a peaceful environment, we utilize noise monitors to ensure our neighbors' comfort. We welcome furry friends for an additional fee of $25 per day per pet, making it easier for you to bring your beloved companions along for the trip.

Great stay in Shadyside

Quick, fun trip to Pittsburgh

My daughter lives and works in Shadyside. Her sister and I love visiting this city from Chicago. The location was perfect. Lots of fun places to walk to and great restaurants. We brought our dog with us and enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. Parking was easy and convenient. Great experience!

Family Trip

The property was clean and well prepared for our arrival. Tom was quick to respond to our questions. The only recommendation I have is to replace the shower curtain rings with new ones. They do not fit and kept falling out when using the shower curtain.

Cozy Abode in Optimal Location

This is a well equipped cozy house in a great neighborhood. The house has comfortable beds, great shower and a full coffee bar in the kitchen. There's a little nook out back with a picnic table and beautiful rose bushes. It's located in an area of Shadyside that's quiet but within a short walk to many great restaurants and tourist attractions. Communication with property manager was prompt and helpful. Highly recommend!

Alder Inn was perfect!

We traveled from Annapolis to attend our daughter’s graduation from Pitt. Our group included three adults in their 50s and two women in their 80s. Thanks to Tom’s pet friendly policy, we were even able to bring our family dog with us, and we found a pet sitter in Shadyside. The Alder Inn met all our needs and much more. The Inn was clean, modern and tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable and the small touches (Keurig with k-cups, extra toothbrushes) were very thoughtful. We will definitely contact Tom the next time we are in Pittsburgh.

Perfect spot for a quick overnight visit in between college tours! Very clean & loved the extra touches: water, snacks, Keurig coffee & even extra toothbrushes in case you forgot! Would definitely recommend!!!
