About this property

Unwind with family and friends as you overlook the beautiful scenery of Lake Chapin. This southwestern Michigan retreat offers abundant indoor and outdoor living space for the whole family.

This waterfront property allows guests to swim, fish, kayak, or jump off the dock right from their backyard. Furthermore, the property features a private in-ground pool overlooking the lake. Two large decks span off the back of the house for guests to enjoy the scenic view of the lake, dine with family, relax outdoors, or enjoy the sunsets to the west. The in-ground swimming pool will be available from Memorial Day weekend until the last weekend of September.

The home's 1st floor offers a modern kitchen fully stocked with all cookware, utensils, coffee maker, crock pot, Keurig, etc. The 1st floor also includes a formal dining room, two separate living room areas with two smart TVs ready to connect to your streaming service and a bedroom with queen bed with a lake view and slider doors to the deck. The 2nd floor offers a master bedroom w/ a full bathroom, a bedroom with a queen bed, a separate full bathroom, and a kid's room with bunk beds, trundle bed and twin bed. The basement offers a secondary master bedroom w/ a full bathroom and a recreation room. The recreation room includes an air hockey/ping-pong table, Simpsons Arcade Game for 4 players, a couch, and a TV. Both the basement master bedroom and rec room have sliding glass doors that lead out to the lower deck and pool.

Among the many tourist attractions in southwestern Michigan, this property is located within a 20-30 minute driving distance to over a dozen of Michigan's best wineries open year round. Guests can drive the winding roads exploring the various wineries, sign up for a local wine tour, or hire a local driver service to take you to the wineries you want to go.

The house location also sits in close proximity to some of the best southwestern Michigan beaches, state parks, breweries, distilleries, golf course, farmers markets, and fresh produce picking.

Great Place to Relax

Had a great stay with my kids and grandkids. They absolutely loved the pool and managed to catch a few fish off the pier. The house was big enough that we could spread out but still remain close. Definitely a good choice.

Another Amazing Experience!

Left a day early

My main complaint about the house is how filthy it was; the shower was backed up and filled above the ankle, the sofa had stains ALL over it, all the rugs were stained, the basement smelled moldy and that includes a bedroom, there were bugs in the master shower and too many other things to list. The beds were uncomfortable and despite the house having a/c, the thermostat made it ridiculously difficult to use; schedules and sensors, etc. It was never really a comfortable temperature since it kept turning off. I would have expected basic comfort based on the thousands we spent to stay but this was not the case and since it rained nearly the entire stay, we were stuck inside and finally decided to go home early. I honestly waited a bit to leave my review because I hate to be so negative but in the end decided to be honest since we spent hard-earned money to stay in a house that was far from anything that resembled the vacation it was intended it to be.

Lovely Lake House with Pool

My siblings take a yearly vacation together in order to stay close & in touch. We loved the updated home & it’s convenient location on the lake near our Chicago home. Great house with pool

We went with three families and there was plenty of room for everyone. The pool was clean and in great condition. Everything we needed was there! We especially appreciated the roll out bed because the master bedroom was very large but just one bed. Silver beach is a 30 minute drive and a great location!

Relaxing Short Stay

Relaxing Memorial Day

This way the perfect spot for our group of families to hang out for the long weekend. We enjoyed paddling in the lake with paddle boards and kayaks that we brought. The dock is a great launching point. We caught fish (and released) from the dock and from kayaks. We had a fire every night and made S’mores at the fire pit. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space for our large group to spread out and also to come together. The kitchen Ida very well stocked! The owner was easy to be in contact with and was very accommodating and hospitable. We would definitely stay again.

Overall, we were very pleased with this property. And it was a very relaxing and peaceful space., With room to spread out it was really clean and had the best equipped kitchen we have ever seen in a VRBO. Some cushions had tears at the seams, so that could be improved on, but otherwise only praise.

College reunion of longtime friends

This is a very spacious house with lots of room to spread out. The owner was extremely easy to reach with questions before our stay and even reminded us of when to put out the trash. It was very peaceful to be in a residential neighborhood right on the lake. The fall colors looking across the lake were beautiful.
