Short Family Weekend Getaway

Quick stay in a Lake Junaluska for entire family. Home is a little dated and would not serve us well for a long period of time if we were planning to cook a lot of meals, but for our short weekend away….it was perfect. Host was quick to respond. Would stay again no questions asked.

The 6th Room

We stayed over the holidays and faced several challenges during our stay. Access to the property was initially difficult due to issues with the provided code, and despite assistance from Vacasa, the instructions were unclear. The house also had noticeable pet hair, which was disappointing given that an early check-in was denied due to a "deep clean."Most significantly, we were unable to access the advertised 6th bedroom and third bathroom, which appeared to be the master suite. Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue, including contacting Vacasa, we couldn’t locate or enter this area. It seemed the Vacasa team was unfamiliar with the layout of the property, leaving us without clear guidance. While the property was described as having six bedrooms and three bathrooms, we only had access to five bedrooms and two bathrooms, which significantly impacted our experience.

Good place to stay

Customer service could use some work. I had to reschedule our trip due to the hurricane, and when I asked questions, sometimes I would get three replies to the same question, and other questions weren't even answered. The house was great - the only complaint was that there was food in the bottom of the dishwasher, and was stinky by the time we fot ther

Hurricane Helene

No fault of this property that Hurricane Helene hit just after we arrived. We had power and water and were safe. Given the wrong code to retrieve keys upon arrival. We had to contact the managementservice a few times and we're not impressed. Bummer trip but no fault of the property. Cleanliness could use a little improvement but not terrible. Very quite area and beautiful scenery, until the Hurricane.

It's ok...

This house is ok if you don't plan on being inside much. The seating in the living area is inadequate and uncomfortable. The kitchen has a nice range and dishwasher, but is otherwise very outdated. The beds aren't very comfortable and there is no ventilation in the upstairs bathroom. But, the house is safe, dry, and in a nice area. A/C works well.

Just what we needed!

For our one week August stay at Lake Junaluska, this home was just what we needed! There were three families, which meant almost 10 people and a little dog too. There was more than enough room for everyone, beds were very comfortable, air conditioning worked amazing upstairs and downstairs, Wi-Fi was strong throughout the home, lots of parking space and green areas with bird houses and butterfly gardens. There were enough living areas where folks could gather to watch TV, others could sit and drink coffee enjoying the mountain view, some would have their laptop out and others would talk and laugh as they prepared a lovely full course meal. Kitchen had what we needed. The staff were great to work with on arrival and departure. The home smelled fresh and clean and we had no problems during our stay. I would like to say we’ll book again for next year but I see that someone else has snapped it up already for our vacation dates! It’s just THAT popular! :-)

Time for rest.

The location was very close by the lake. It was very quite. It's a great place you come and relax. If your looking for somewhere to get away from the noise of the the city it would be great.

Heaven!

Words cannot explain how surprised, thrilled and overjoyed we all were to have spent the weekend in such an amazing, comfy and extremely kewl house. We had 7 family members from different parts of the country come in for a wedding and from the moment we arrived we were so impressed by the beauty and warmth of this turn of the 20th century home. if it wasn't for the wedding we would never have left the house. Within minutes of arrival and exploring the house we all said we will definitely be coming back and for a much longer stay.

Very clean, well stocked, and attention to detail

We have a family weekend to enjoy the leaves changing colors. This house was amazing with 5 nice size bedrooms and the bonus mini apartment over the garage! Plenty of space for the entire family, very clean, kitchen well stocked, and nice attention to detail with soaps, dish detergent, and fresh ground coffee.

Nice place

Really nice home away from home. Only issue is that one of the bedrooms was not really a bedroom but a bed in a closet and the 2nd floor was hot. But other than that it was great, very clean and stocked with everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful cottage at Lake Junaluska.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this 1920's craftsman cottage in Lake Junaluska. Although the lake was not visible from our cottage, we loved the cottage because it has a large porch with rocking chairs overlooking a lovely mountain vista. The birds , chipmunks and rabbits were fun to watch. The flower garden was lovely in front of the porch. We had plenty of room for our family and were glad that three bedrooms were downstairs to accommodate my elderly mother. The library, and games were enjoyable to look through as well as the period decor and pottery pieces throughout the cottage. A-plus! We would love to come back when the weather is cooler so that we could enjoy being outdoors for even longer. A fan on the front porch would be a wonderful addition for stifling hot days of summer.
