About this property

Grande Vista at Highpointe Lake Bellaire

If you want panoramic views, privacy, and nature, then High Pointe Bellaire is our fantastic option for you.

Our home with a lower level apartment is perfect for larger families or two smaller families to reunite!

The space(s) – Two separate levels - two separate prices

1 - Main Level $500 per night. Three bedrooms with four beds. 1 king, 2 Queen, one full. Maximum capacity eight guests.

2 - Main level plus the Lower level Flat add $150 per night for total nightly charge $650.00 plus $100 additional cleaning fee. Lower-level flat has 1 Queen and 1 King bed in the same room.

Both levels have kitchens, living space, and full baths.

We can often accommodate our main-level guests who request to rent the additional lower apartment space. For an extra $150 per night (plus $100 cleaning fee), you have access to the entire 3400 SF home (both main and lower level). Please take a look below for more description of the lower level. We never rent the lower level to other guests if you have reserved our main level home. However, we reserve our lower flat for personal use if you do not add it to your reservation. We keep a low profile; you can use the entire deck, gazebo, and fire pit exclusively. The two units are entirely separated by a deadbolt locked door at the bottom of the stairway from the main level.

Many guests with parties of 8 or under still request the lower level as it provides almost double the space and they have exclusive use of the entire home. Our main level home, which has a deck, a gazebo, and an incredible view, is the principal guest attraction. We have a better view of Lake Bellaire from the main level than from the Shanty Creek Lake View Restaurant & Bar. Our main level provides ample space for sleeping of 8 persons and fewer. If your party is over 8, you must lease both units.

During the summer months, June - August, and the Winter season, December 15 - March 15, we require a minimum 4-day stay.

We use hospital-grade disinfectants to clean our entire home before guests arrive. All beds have duvet covers for comforters, which are washed and bleached before every guest arrival.

Feel free to contact us with any other questions including modification of our four-night minimum stay.

Main Level

From the moment you enter, you’ll be captivated by the panoramic views & feel at home with the warmth of the natural materials. A blend of tongue & groove cedar wood on the walls & ceilings, along with touches of drywall, create a welcoming & warm environment.

The wall of windows & the grand natural stone fireplace invites you to step into the sunken living room to relax and take in the panorama overlooking Lake Bellaire. Spring, Summer Winter or Fall this incredible Lakescape picture will keep you coming back. The stone fireplace extends to the vaulted ceilings & is a handsome accent to both the living and dining rooms.

Whether prepping a meal in the kitchen, entertaining guests in the dining room, living room, or lower level, your attention will always be captured by the vistas. The kitchen enjoys cabinetry that was hand-crafted by a local artisan. People might even offer to help with the dishes as the views are just as stunning from there. There is plenty of space for more than one cook, & a side door allows convenient access to the surrounding multi-level deck.

The main floor offers three bedrooms, and two full bathrooms, large laundry room w/washer, dryer, wash tub & plenty of storage.

Bedroom One has queen size bed and one large window with amazing view overlooking a dramatic elevation drop of the surrounding forest.

Bedroom Two has both queen and full-size beds with two large windows one overlooking the lake and the other window showing valleys and woods that surround our home.

The Master Bedroom (Bedroom Three) enjoys plentiful closet space, en suite full bathroom & window door wall access to the deck so you can step out for a breath of fresh air. The views from both windows have extraordinary panoramic lake and forest views.

Lower level

You will find a sizable family room with TV on the lower level. The large sectional sofa has a built-in recliner chair for the TV and a sleeper foam mattress fold-out bed. It has a full kitchen and a 13 x 18 ft sleeping room area with side by side king- and queen-size beds. Vertical blinds can be used to privatize the bed area from the kitchen/ living room area. There is a full bath and even a sauna. This lower level is a separate suite. It can be used as an additional guest quarter. The massive stone fireplace also accents the lower-level family room. Step outside to a lawn area with outdoor furniture to sit and enjoy the panoramic views of Lake Bellaire. The evenings are a good time to gather around the nearby outdoor fire pit.

Outdoor space

Imagine kicking back on 1400 SF of deck where you can peacefully relax while taking in the breath-taking views and panorama. Wildlife frequents the property. Bald Eagles, red hawks, deer, foxes abound …. a view that you’ll never grow tired of. Summit and Schuss Mountains in the distance east and the Torch Lake Cellars winery settled on a mountain top across the Lake from our home to the west. There is a 20 x 12 foot gazebo on our deck which is our favorite place in the house. It’s an outdoor living room with the same spectacular views we’ve been talking about. We have both living and dining furniture under this covered porch which has the most remarkable views of Lake Bellaire!

Many updates have been made within the last four years, to include a new gazebo, deck stain, water boiler, A/C, carpet & bathroom flooring.

Our second home is a perfect family getaway anytime of the year. Since it is our second home, you’ll find all the creature comforts that make for relaxed and comfortable living.

Things to do

Of course, there is lots to do in this exceptional part of northern Michigan and very close by. Swimming and boating in Lake Bellaire in Central Intermediate Chain of Lakes and Torch Lake all are just minutes away and these are just to name a few. Antrim county has more lakes than any other county in Michigan.

This is a wonderful place to spend the winter holidays. It’s a most beautiful time of the year here. BUT ONLY IF you have FOUR-WHEEL or ALL WHEEL DRIVE, with all season tires. Most of the time snow is not an issue, but you never know with Mother Nature. We use a reliable snow removal company, but with this house, you should have all-wheel or 4 4-wheel drive to navigate the drive up and down the hill, just in case of an ice storm. Salt and sand barrels are strategically located along our private drive for this situation.

The views during the winter are Icelandic, which I find more beautiful than the summer. You see the snow-covered lake under the moon and the stars at night. It’s almost pitch dark out there, which is so cool because there are hardly any house lights around the lake during the winter. This is especially true on our side of the lake, mainly comprised of wetlands, preventing residential development along the lake waterfront. My absolute favorite time is Autumn when the enveloping forest explodes with yellows, reds, and orange. Our home is positioned on top of a hill that boasts the most breathtaking views of Lake Bellaire, which are astounding all year round. It’s one of the most unique panoramic views you will ever see.

What a gem! A beautiful home with serene views over Lake Bellaire, minutes from Torch Lake. The outdoor deck area is fully functional at least 3 seasons a year with a roofed area, fans and an outdoor heater. We will be returning here next year!

Best place ever

Where do I begin, as everything exceeded our expectations! House was spotless, and I do mean spotless! Everything we needed was there, we brought lawnchairs but didnt need them because the deck w/gazebo had plenty of "comfortable" seating. So as you can imagine with the couch, the chaise, rocking chair and table and chairs, and other seating majority of our time was spent right there, laughing, talking and taking in the amazing view!. Especially enjoyed not having to worry if we were laughing a little too loud as there's not neighbors right next door. Also had fun sitting around the campfire and no mosquitoes!! (We had the upper and lower rented). Comfortable beds, spacious, big TVs and no problem watching any shows. Everything is as described on the vrbo and not 1 of us had a bad thing to say about our stay. Everything is pretty convenient to get to if going out, (we rented a pontoon on torch lake). Host also responded back quickly when I had a question. You can't go wrong renting this place for sure!

About us - I met my wife on a surfing trip in the Dominican Republic ten years ago. About 8 years ago we started our first Airbnb business in Pompano Beach Florida. We wanted a warm weather place to spend some time during the cold Michigan months and at the same time to pay for the expense with short term rentals. We soon became super hosts by our commitment to provide the best possible service our guests and to provide only quality products for our guests’ use. Things like 800 count Egyptian cotton bed linens. Nice fluffy white towels. Quality cooking utensils and cutlery. Creating comfortable outdoor spaces and comping our guests with extras when at all possible, including late/early check outs. This means also being ready to address any kind of situation that could possibly arise Last year we decided that Florida traffic and crazy drivers was not going to be conducive for growing old together. So, we sold our three-bedroom Florida home with lanai pool and cool back yard. It was a tough decision, but we decided we preferred the Island Life and constructed our dream home in San Cristobal just outside Santo Domingo the capital of DR. Our DR home is 15 minutes from the beach and 25 minutes to the Capital downtown Santo Domingo. This is really our dream warm weather home set on two mountain top acres with incredible mountain and jungle views 365. Of course, its completely secured with alarm/security systems and perimeter masonry wall around the property. We plan to short term rental this property in the Dominican Republic commencing in 2023. We currently live in Lapeer Michigan on Lake Nepessing which we also short-term rental when staying at our other properties. See:

Why they chose this property

Why this property?

After searching Northern Michigan Lower Peninsula, we decided on purchasing this hilltop Lake Bellaire view property because of the absolute uniqueness of the property. It is truly a matchlessness, secluded private property that commands the most awesome views of the surrounding country including Lake Bellaire, Shanty Creek Resorts / Summit Mountain (which is spectacularly lit during the winter months).

We love the ambiance of this locale especially the village of Bellaire and being five minutes from Torch Lake. There is so much to do here (or in a short distance from here) that it is simply mind boggling …. from premier golfing, to hiking, biking, boating, kayaking, visiting wineries, skiing, snowboarding tubing etc. The people around here are down to earth and friendly. The weather is amazing and interesting. You never know if the day will be a blue “domer” with the sun blazing down or if stormy weather and clouds will be moving in to watch in spectacular environment from our 1400 SF deck outdoors or inside splendid living room view. The surrounding landscapes make dramatic views from many windows in our home and walking the property. You also have incredible lake views from our kitchen dining room, and two bedrooms on the main level as well as the lower level.

What makes this property unique

Unique benefits: Privacy and Seclusion in 20 acres of wooded towering Maples and hilltop Buena vistas. Peace, tranquility and quiet in nature. Amazing living fireplace on the main level fueled with a seemingly endless supply of firewood and kindling. Outdoor hilltop fire pit to enjoy awesome evenings of kicking back around a campfire telling stories jokes singing songs and enjoying family and friends.
