About this property

Sycamore Camp - Luxury Cabin, Lake Access, Hot Tub

Welcome to Poconoland!
Escape from it all at this charming Lake Harmony log cabin, boasting a blend of historic allure and contemporary style. Originally a 1930s hunting retreat, this vintage cottage has undergone a complete renovation, resulting in a captivating modern getaway. Featuring 3 bedrooms accommodating up to 7 guests, the cabin affords total privacy, but is walking distance to Boulder View Tavern. Plus, enjoy private access to neighboring Round Pond for kayaking and fishing!

The Space:
A CONTEMPORARY LOG CABIN

Sycamore Camp has been a favorite getaway for families since it was built in 1934 as a 'hunting camp', or a seasonal cabin for families to stay in while enjoying the fishing, hiking, hunting, skiing and other outdoor pursuits in the spellbinding Pocono Mountains. You can feel the warmth and history of the house the minute you step in the door.

Entering into the heart of the home, you're immediately greeted by the brand new kitchen and dining area. Want to prepare a big meal for the whole gang? Check! That's no problem in the well-appointed kitchen with brand-new appliances and plenty of quality cookware & bakeware to help cook anything you want to whip up. And there's ample room for up to 10 at the antique live-edge oak table and benches. A coffee station and whimsical wingback chair make a comfy perch for morning conversations and reading.

In the oldest part of the house, the log cabin, unwind on the two velvety, modern Interior Design sofas or in one of the two plush goose-down chairs. Watch Netflix, Hulu or Disney+, play board games or try a puzzle, or simply enjoy the crackle of the gas fireplace. If you need a fluffy blanket for snuggling, there are plenty close at hand, plus there's a record player for setting the mood.

The house is furnished with an eclectic mix of new and vintage items, and you'll find luxury modern furniture alongside curated items from local Pennsylvania vintage sources. As with the recent renovation of the structure of the house, our desire to retain as much of the original charm of a Poconos' family vacation cottage extended to the furnishings, too, and every room has a combination of new and 'reimagined' items that enhance the house's feeling of history and tradition.

THREE COMFY BEDROOMS AND TWO FULL BATHROOMS

The two queen bedrooms are private and peaceful, and they're similar in size so there won't be any fights between guests in your group -- just pick 'the red one' or 'the green one,' and you'll all be treated to new memory-foam mattresses and buttery-soft linens, blankets & pillows.

A twin-over-full bunk bed rounds out the third bedroom, and we recommend that only plan for kids to sleep on the top bunk. (It's sturdy enough for adults, but the ladder you'll climb to reach the top is on the narrow side.) The bunk room has several special features to keep the whole gang happy: a fully-stocked game closet provides days' worth of entertainment, including an LCD TV with Nintendo Switch, plus plenty of non-electronic toys and board games, too. Days are fun in the bunk room, and nights are special, too! Flip on the LED 'disco' lights to create a party mood, or dim them to be lulled to sleep. Beware: every kid wants to sleep on the top bunk so they can be closest to the gold constellation wallpaper on the ceiling.

The house is fully stocked with soft, hotel-quality sheets, bath & hand towels, duvets and extra blankets, and it's fully ready for your getaway! No need to bring anything, unless you'd like an extra towel for the hot tub or a trip to the the beach at nearby Hickory Run State Park or the indoor water park at Split Rock Resort.

PERFECTION IN THE POCONOS

The key to a perfect weekend escape pad? Plenty of cozy reading nooks. At Sycamore Camp, we encourage guests to grab a book from the built-in bookshelves in the cabin and settle in by the fire, or maybe you'll prefer the 'pamplemousse' wingback in the kitchen? The hammock out back under the big pine trees is another favorite spot, or the lounge area by the hot tub is cozy, or the wooden rocking chair by the front of the house...? We hope you'll leave plenty of free time to try them all. Don't worry, we have plenty of good books to keep you occupied.

To enjoy the beauty and peace of the Poconos, simply step outside. A sun-dappled deck space with a gas barbecue is perfect for grilling juicy burgers and hot dogs. The wooden table and long benches seat up to 10 for al fresco meals. Or kick back in the lounge area on the stone patio or at one of the Adirondack chairs around the fire pit with your mug of morning coffee. Keep an eye out for families of deer strolling nearby. And maybe even a bear will come visit, if you're lucky.

The house is fully-stocked with indoor and outdoor games, so you'll never need to leave to find plenty of afternoon fun. Enjoy a game of ping-pong at the outdoor table, or try your hand at outdoor versions of Jenga, Yatzhee and a 4-foot tall wooden Connect Four set! Anyone for a Badminton match?

The sparkling hot tub is irresistible at the end of a long day. Relax here with a glass of wine and listen to the sounds of the forest. In the evenings, gather around the fire pit for scary stories and s’mores.

World-famous Lake Harmony is only a few minutes down the road. Spend your summer days on the sandy beach at Split Rock or charter a boat at Yeti Watersports. In the winter, Big Boulder Ski Resort is literally only 2 minutes away, and Jack Frost Mountain is only a few minutes further on the other side of Lake Harmony. You can be on the slopes in less than 10 minutes! Ski, snowboard, snow-tubing... it's all practically at your doorstep.

A note about the road: Sycamore Court is a private unpaved gravel road. It is plowed in the winter after snowstorms, but we strongly recommend that guests drive either a 4-wheel or All-wheel drive vehicle in the winter months. Rear-wheel drive cars may get stuck.

So cute!

Thank you for having us at this lovely little cabin! Our entire family enjoyed every moment. Hosts were great and prompt with communication and clear with house details too. We look forward to staying there or at another one of their properties in the future!

Broken hot tub

House was clean. The grill could use cleaning. A bathroom mirror is starting to pull away from the wall. Hot tub was broken, which was disappointing. Management tried to get it repaired, but it was Memorial Day weekend and the repair man did not arrive on the day he was supposed to. I was given $100 refund for the hot tub. I believe we would have enjoyed it here, but without the hot tub the holiday price did not make it worth it to me and we did not get to relax the way we had planned.

Beautiful cabin in the woods

The property was exactly as pictured with no surprises. Very private but still close to restaurants, parks and lakes. We made good use of the hot tub and fire pit, things we don't have at our current home. Cabin was very clean with everything you need for a cozy stay. Would recommend for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing get away.
