Spacious house, well equipped and easy access to beach. Due to recent hurricanes some shops and restaurants were closed other than that perfect spot for family gatherings. We really enjoyed all being together on Captiva. Would recommend
This was our first return to Captiva since 2019 and the house didn't disappoint. We stayed here before and the house has undergone many improvements since then. One of our favorite properties in Captiva!
The property was beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels, both beach and bath. Having 2 sets of washers/dryers was a big plus as well. It was a quick walk to the beach and to the little beach shops. We all had a great time!
We had an amazing week. The house is in the absolute perfect location. We didn’t get in the car one time the whole week. Short walk to the beach, restaurants, and island store. Tons of towels and beach chairs provided and even a wagon. It was perfect. We will be back
I traveled here with my family for me Dads 60th birthday and we had the best experience! The house was super clean, located right next to the beach, shops, and restaurants. The house was fully stocked with beach supplies (chairs, wagon, floaties, and towels) and all other essentials. The hosts were amazing and responded with any questions in a timely manner. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this amazing place and I am hoping my family and I will get to come back and visit soon! Thank you again for lending your beautiful home to us this past week!
What a beautiful home and location in Captiva. Our family stayed at this perfectly appointed home for a week. Its location to the beach, shopping, grocery, and restaurants was about as good as it can get. The pool was amazing!
We spent our days at the beach and late afternoons at the pool. Everyone thought the house was perfect.
It had everything you need to make dinner in the well equipped kitchen.
We highly recommend you stay here!
We will be back for sure!
This was an amazing getaway for a family of 10 and everyone enjoyed the property and Captiva Island. The property was perfect with 5 separate bedrooms and 4 baths allowing everyone their own separate space. The pool and privacy was great a gathering spot after the beach. A great benefit was the ability to walk everywhere from the beach to restaurants to the marina to take a sunset cruise. We stayed a week and left the cars in the driveway. The communication throughout the process with the owner and property manager was flawless. We expect to return soon.
First of all the layout of the home was excellent. Rooms were private but gathering areas were accessible for all. Plenty of outdoor areas to sit and visit or just a quiet place to read. 2 washer and dryers so laundry could be done by different groups. Kitchen was very updated and appliances worked great. Also TVs located in each room if you wanted to spend time winding down from the day. Property manager and property Maintence people were super responsive with any question we had. Great location for beach access and places to eat. Will definitely return!!!
Our family-6 adults, and three children 1,2,4 years old- stayed for a week at this wonderful Captiva home. Our host and their local representative were easy to communicate with starting with our initial inquiries, and exceptionally helpful and reachable when needed for incidental questions while we were there. The home is simply spectacular with a great floor plan, and in pristine condition. It is terrific for families allowing ample space for all and is exceptionally well stocked with many thoughtful conveniences. The pool is a very nice size and allowed for safe and fun swimming for the kids. The home is surrounded by lush foliage and the neighborhood is very inviting and quiet. There is a nice library steps away on the way to the beach. The proximity to the beach and the center of town is just great, and the beach itself is uncrowded, uncommercial and beautiful. This is an ideal home for a mid-winter family vacation in a very unique Florida environment. We have gone through VRBO a number of times looking for special properties in a variety of locations and would rank this at the top.
The house and location was excellent. Everything was super clean and beautiful. Better than pics!
We brought our family of 6 down and all had a wonderful time at the house. The owners were super accommodating to our schedule and responded to us within minutes. The house was impeccably clean and had everything we needed. There was plenty of room for our adult children to spread out. Neighborhood is super convienent and quiet. Beach was really only 4 min away and the house had all the beach supplies we needed! We had a wonderful vacation and made great memories at this house!
I loved this house. We have rented many properties in Captiva, and across the country, and I can truly tell the owners have tried to make this house special. This is the most spotless beach home I have every rented. Fantastic linens, spotless cleaning, and other special touches (liquid hand soap, reef diffusers, etc.). The garage was great to have as a post-beach landing spot, and beach equipment that was in great shape was provided. Lots of room for a large group, but the house also worked for just me and my daughter. Pool was great - morning and evening shade. The street was quiet and close to beach. Restaurants were walkable. We did not have many downsides - master bed was very firm (and to some, that may not be a downside!). Loved this house!!
Maybe I shouldn’t publish this, everyone will want this house
The Good…there is lots of space for people to congregate in different areas, plenty of kitchen items, good quality beach items, lots of hangers, bath towels and beach towels for everyone. The area is very quiet at night and the bedroom mattresses and pillows are very comfortable. There are lots of windows, so lots of natural light. The location is ideal for walking in Captiva. TVs are everywhere.
The Not So Good…there are no shades over the exterior door. This means someone can come to the front door and peer in. There is one functioning ice maker and you need to be sure to turn it on when you arrive. It takes about a day to make an adequate amount of ice…at least in the beginning of your vacation. There were no blow dryers for drying hair. (Later, we found them in unexpected locations). The rental contact, was not as responsive as we’d like. There were a couple of timely issues that were not assessed. The cost is expensive, especially if you aren’t splitting it. It was more than we normally pay, but fit the dates and amenities we were looking for.
Unique touches….there is a printer in the lower den for printing your boarding pass, great idea. Captiva Civic Assoc. has a building on this block and it hosts special events. We were able to attend a wine tasting hosted by Baileys General Store. The landscaping allows you to leave a car in the shade all day. There are sprayers on the outside of the house that release big spray when evening starts to fall. The pool has lights in it that change colors. Did I mention the comfort of the beds? My sister took a picture of the pillow…it was the first time she slept without neck pain. Seriously, where do we get the pillows? Although there appears to be 1 air handler, the placement of vents makes the room temperature consistent on all 3 levels.
Bottom line, an awesome vacation getaway with everything we needed. Wish it had been a 2 week stay.
We loved staying at this property during our week on Captiva! The house was flawless and had everything we needed including beach gear that we did not travel with (towels, chairs, umbrellas, wagons). The pool was spotless and clean all week, and the beach is a short walk down the street. Can't wait to come back!
