Tom and Carol made the whole process easy to rent. They answered all my questions quickly.
The pictures don't do this cabin justice. The kitchen is well stocked and with newer appliances making meals was very enjoyable. The comfortable living room furniture and beds was perfect for relaxing after a long day of exploring the area. It's a great place to stay away from all the crowds at Glacier yet close enough to enjoy everything in the park.
The rippling rapids outside the cabin was soothing to ones soul. The views at the cabin are absolutely beautiful!
We were able to fulfill a bucket list adventure of fishing the Flathead River. The cabin is a 5 minute drive to one of the top ranked areas to trout fish.
Thank you for sharing your cabin. Hope to return again.
Awesome views, great Hosts, well accommodated, great location. We would definitely book again. Our family of four was comfortable and did not even turn on the TV. Great vacation hub.
5-Star Ritz Carlton Experience - Montana Cabin Near West Entrance
I have traveled and lived all over the world, and have been the guest of many people. Carol and her husband are the consummate hosts. Warren Buffett said, “when you buy a product, in 50 years, you will not remember how good the product was, but rather you will never forget (good or bad), the experience you had buying it.”
Carol provided us with everything we needed and requested (which was within reason). She is, professional, warm in her communication, and helpful. The cabin is quintessential Montana. Everything is new, clean, and functional.
She is detail oriented, down to the automatic opening kitchen garbage pail lid. We had a “Ruth’s Chris” type of dinner on their grill, camp fires, and relaxing afternoons on their luxury hammock overlooking a cut-throat salmon filled river. It’s close enough to town to get what you need in 15 mins and far enough away to feel absolutely secluded. It’s conveniently located near the West Entrance of Glacier National Park.
5-Stars.
Well stocked and very comfortable. Loved the location right on the river. I would come back again just to sit in the chairs along the river in the early mornings and late evenings. My kids loved the hammock in the back yard. Thanks for sharing your place with us.
Can’t say enough about this home. My family of 5 spent 5 days and had a wonderful time. Best stocked rental I’ve ever stayed in and the owners were great and very communicative. Would definitely stay again.
We loved this property for the whole family. We spent the vast majority of the day -- dawn to dusk -- in the park, but the cabin was a perfect place to retreat at night. The views of the river from the living room, balcony, hammock and bank were a family-favorite, even though we only saw a bald eagle and some elk crossing.
The property was in the perfect location between whitefish and the west entrance to the park. The hosts’ were amazing and made our stay perfect! Highly recommend
Finding this listing was like winning a lottery. Everything was perfect! The location is like living in a post card. It's beautiful beyond belief! The cabin is clean and perfectly appointed (the best well stocked and clearly thought out locations I've ever booked!)
Communications with the owners were timely and accurate. My whole family loved our stay here - it was a highlight of our whole vacation. I hope to return some day as it's a little piece of paradise.
We loved our stay here! We wish we could have stayed longer. Wonderful location. Close to town, restaurants, and glacier national Park but far enough away for privacy and quiet. It was so peaceful here. Personally I was more impressed with this place than I was glacier national Park. We could have hung out at the house all day. The large picture windows make you feel like you are outside by the river when its too cold to go outside. Everything you could possibly need at this rental. Obviously a lot of thought and care has gone into this place. Highly recommend!
Everything about this cabin & stay was absolute perfection. The location, the cabin, the hosts, the view…..I could go on & on! The cabin was one of the most well stocked homes I’ve stayed in. I’ve been renting VRBO homes for approx. 12 years now and I’m not sure I’ve ever stayed in one so well stocked with everything you possibly need; from cooking essentials, spices, binoculars, lotion, shampoo, grocery staples, you name it-seemed it was all there. The hosts are easy, friendly, & attentive. The cabin was clean & so peaceful & relaxing. And the view….nothing short of amazing. Close to everything you need. It was nothing short of perfect!!
Wonderful location and cabin on the flathead river
Amazing hosts and a very comfortable cabin in an incredible location. The cabin is lovely with great space in the kitchen and very comfortable beds. Easy and quick access to both entry points to GNP. Will definitely go back if in that area again. The river front location is unbelievably beautiful.
Cozy and well appointed. Photos accurately depict stunning views and proximity to the river which is only a few short steps away. The property is in a completely quiet and rural setting while maintaining convenient access to Columbia Falls unlike most other options on the Flathead as you continue going north. The hosts graciously accommodated some last minute special requests that they could have justifiably charged us for but elected not to.
From the minute we pulled into the driveway, we knew it was going to be a perfect place for us. We made Reservations for 4 days, with the intentions of going to Glacier National Park for 3 of the days. We went the first day. It was beautiful, but we decided that this place was so wonderful and beautiful in its own right, that we didn't need to make the trek back to the park! Seriously, just the most wonderful place to unwind and enjoy life for as long as you are able to do so. Carol and Tom have furnished the home with everything you will need for a comfortable stay. Beds, pillows, blankets, were all so comfy! And the views! OMG, we couldn't ask for more. Communication was perfect, as was check in and check out. We will definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to get back this way!
Love the very nice rustic location of cabin with a wonderful view of the mountains & river, well maintained, accompanied by modern amenities & well stocked pantry. The welcome sign & gifts were a nice personal touch & greatly appreciated. The owners were very accommodating & prompt with responses. I wish my family & I could have stayed longer to really soak in this place but glad to have experienced the wonders of the Glacier National Park.
This place was even more beautiful in person than the photos showed(and the photos were beautiful)!!!! The gifts and board were a very sweet surprise❤️❤️❤️❤️everything was in perfect working order and was clean and welcoming! Thank you again for a very beautiful location to stay:)
We just returned from a wonderful week long vacation at this private riverside cabin surrounded by trees. The owners were most accommodating and helpful. The cabin has all the modern amenities and was spotless. We loved the huge picture windows that make one feel like they are outside. The large deck is perfect for looking at the Flathead River and seeing deer, bear, Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles and many other water fowl. We were lucky enough to see all of these in the week we were there, while sitting on the deck with our German Shepherd. We look forward to be able to return again to this relaxing place.
We really enjoyed our stay there. We were a short ride to the west gate and after a full day at the park, this is a perfect place to wind down with million dollar views.
Absolutely amazing property. The location and views are second to none. The cabin is well appointed, was very clean and welcoming, and provided a great place for our family to stay in between all of the wonderful hikes in Glacier National Park. We were able to return to this serene respite after a full day of hiking and lounge in the hammock, listen to the rustling river waters, and enjoy a peaceful fire.
Tom and Carol are the most gracious of hosts. They stopped by the first evening to ensure we had all that we needed, and were prepared for the week. It is obvious that they care about all their guest staying at their property.
We are already looking for when we can return to this wonderful cabin!
This home was as described. The inside was comfortable with a fantastic view of the Flathead River. It was well stocked with what you need to prepare your meals. The deck was great for enjoying a morning coffee or an evening glass of your preferred adult beverage. If you come from an urban or suburban area, you will find the silence almost deafening. You will enjoy some of the best night's sleep.
Outside you will enjoy the ever present squirrels and bird flitting around, the possibility of a passing deer, bald eagle in flight, or as I saw a family of raccoons come down to the river to wash up.
The west entrance to Glacier National Park is a short 15 minute drive away. Columbia Falls is 15 minutes away and has a lot to offer.
The hosts of this wonderful retreat are friendly and hospitable, even mailed a pair of shoes back to us after they were left by accident.
We had a great time there and would stay here again. Thank you
This was a nice secluded location on the river with river access, firepit, gliders, and deck with seating and BBQ. The home was clean with a well stocked kitchen. There were two bedrooms with a jack-and-jill bath and comfortable beds. Excellent A/C that works great for a good night's sleep. I slept like a baby. The shower was amazing with a rain style shower head and lots of hot water. There is a nice screened in sun porch with a view of the river for those that don't want to venture far from the house. Binoculars are provided for those watching for wildlife. I didn't see any while there other than some geese and hummingbirds but a nice hike on the Iceberg Trail at GNP allowed me to see two grizzly bears.
The owners were responsive and the check-in process was smooth. I would absolutely rent here again for the peace and relaxation and close proximity to GNP (both the West Entrance on Hwy 2 and off North Fork Rd. outside of Polebridge). Definitely worth a second trip!
We had a fabulous stay at Tom and a Carol’s place! The property is so peaceful and beautiful. We saw bald eagles, deer, and golden eagles. We slept great, had every amenity we could need, and Tom and Carol left a kind treat for us too :-).
We highly recommend this property and owners!

Our names are Tom and Carol Ladenburg. We are both native to the Flathead Valley, raised in Columbia Falls. We have four children and four grandchildren.
Why they chose this property
To us, this is a very special place. We've spent many days either fishing, swimming or floating the river. Many family gatherings have taken place here, sitting out on the deck enjoying the views, waving to passing floaters and fishermen, and seeing wildlife.
What makes this property unique
You never know what wildlife you may see. Mornings and evenings are best. We've watched wolves chase elk into the river on more than one occasion. It is a peaceful and serene place.
