A Factual Review

Unfortunately we did not enjoy our stay at this house. We had to wait to check in because the host was still cleaning the house. Unfortunately the guests before us seemed to have trashed the place. We saw evidence of this with overflowing beer bottles in the trash can outside the house. The host offered a $35 discount which was appreciated. However when we arrived to the house, it was still quite dirty. There was a layer of dust on most surfaces. The space did not feel clean at all. It was very evident that no cleaning company came in to do a thorough cleaning of the space and yet I'm sure that the cleaning fee was part of the prior guests' expenses. I am very sensitive to dust and mildew and my allergies flared up terribly during our trip. On the evening of the last day, the hot water stopped working in the main house. We had to check out in the morning and didn't have time to get someone in to fix it. It was 30 degrees outside and the water was ice cold so we had to travel without taking a shower which was not comfortable at all. We came for a business trip so we didn't have the time to contact the host and get assistance with several of these issues. I'm sure if given the opportunity, the host would have handled the issue so that's on us. We were at the house late at night and left early in the morning each day so there wasn't time to handle these points. The main complaint I have is the cleanliness of the house. This was my first time using Vacasa and I expected something better. One of my colleagues complained of cigarette smells in the main bedroom. And we don't smoke. Possibly this was left over from the guests prior to us. Otherwise we appreciated the layout of the house which worked well for our large group of 10 guests. I just cannot in good conscience leave a good review due to the lack of cleanliness and I hope this issue gets resolved.
