Unpleasant stay.

Booked one year prior to stay for our daughters wedding weekend. Upon arrival, requested early check in but never received notice. Then it took over an hour after check in time to receive our code because they could not find our reservations. The trash container outside was over flowing when we arrived was never emptied but received correspondences via text that it had been emptied.Once finally making it into the house there was no internet for two days and no Directv the entire time. There was no broom for sweeping the floors, dead bugs on the inside of the sliding door track, dust and trash under the furniture. The first bowl I used had a hair in it, droppings in the silverware drawer and hair in the bathroom sink, dust on the valances and curtains throughout the house, torn and stained carpet and the furniture was not new. The fire pit located behind the house was full of burnt plastic and partially burnt trash. It’s March and there was a Christmas wreath on the dining hutch. The next day Rachel(very nice) agent from vacasa called to assist with internet and trash. We corresponded multiple times for the remainder of our stay. Nothing was being resolved so we cut our trip short. Ultimately discovering that Rachel is an agent in FL not NC! Now for over 24 hours another vacasa agent corresponding via text regarding all of the listed issues advises that “they are waiting for a response from the manager of the house and they will get back with me.)………… still waiting……

Terrible wifi and misleading pictures

The wi-fi was terrible. We couldn't stream anything and even had to use our phone hotspot for email and regular internet searching. This was especially frustrating because the direct tv channels were locked so we couldn't watch them, but then we couldn't stream any sports or movies either. Absolute deal breaker. The pictures are carefully curated to avoid showing the large house across the street that interrupts the view (different from the carriage house, which is clearly pictured). I was specifically looking for a house that was more secluded and feel deceived by the pictures. It was a lovely little house, but I would 100% not have booked it if I had known it was in a neighborhood and there was another house in the way of the view. Again, once you are at the property it is clear that the pictures were specifically taken to avoid showing that other house. Good things: - The house is cute and clean inside - The beds are comfortable - The service was good -- when we couldn't make the fireplace work, they sent someone out first thing the next morning Annoying things, but not deal breakers: - kitchen could use some more pots and pans - it needs more seating in the living room--the seating arrangement was clear from the pictures, but once we got there we realized that one couch and one chair is really not enough for a house that sleeps 8. - the lighting is sparse and some of the lamps have very harsh white lights - it needs better instructions for operating the fireplace

Waynesville

The ceiling in the bedroom with the king size bed upstairs has leaked and has some mold. It rained very hard while we were there and we had to leave due to a flash flood emergency from Hurricane Helene. When we were trying to leave, the front door would not lock.

Great stay.

Great stay. Peaceful and quiet. A few minor things should be addressed. In the master bathroom: replace missing towel bar. Kitchen: need sink stopper. Dishwasher needs some love (replace silverware basket). We may stay here again.

House is beautiful. Not much of a view from the front due to the trees across the street. View from the back was somewhat visible. Overall great time!

Great stay!

The cabin was very clean and had great kitchen supplies. Also nice touch with having dishwasher soap and laundry soap. Not many rentals have the incidentals-this cabin does. Very nice touch.

Lovely house on a hilltop

We really enjoyed staying in this house. The views are great! The house is in a very quiet rural community. The layout is spacious. The furniture and beds are comfortable, and there is plenty of very hot water. The kitchen is well-supplied with cooking utensils. We took off one star for the extremely weak wifi and the inability of the management to resolve some minor repairs. Overall, we were very happy here.

Great Getaway

We loved the layout of the cabin. It held the whole family comfortably, including our pet. Although the drive up was steep it was well worth it. Cabin was well equipped for the stay. Even had extra gas bottles for the grill. Along with some firewood for use. Thanks for a great week!

Beautiful but bring everything you need

The cabin was beautiful but a few things to note. The road to the cabin is STEEP with hairpin corners so if you’re not used to driving these type roads be prepared. Also plan to buy EVERYTHING you need while there; even toilet paper!! They do provide a few garbage bags at least! Also, there are plenty of pillows…but NO extra pillow cases!

Refreshing Retreat

This is a comfortable cabin/house with a fabulous covered deck that wraps around to allow views of sunrise and sunset. We were able to grill and cook most of our own meals with ease. A gas grill, air fryer, and assortment of pots and pans made cooking and prep very doable. Easily slept all 6 of us, allowed space to be together or spread out, and all beds were comfy. Must have an electric hot water heater as we were all able to shower without any issues! The well water was fabulous and refreshing. We enjoyed the fresh, cooler air, board games on the deck, fire pit with s'mores, crisp water play time in the rivers of NC and TN, hiking, runs/walks around Lake Junaluska, wildlife watching, and delicious ice cream at Caffeine and Chaos. Waynesville provides a cool downtown and lots of food to enjoy and taste too. The "Hill" up to the cabin is full of switch backs and steeper than we expected. Thankfully we were there in summer! We lost a couple balls playing catch up on the mountain, but overall enjoyed our time away. Already missing it as GA has more bugs, humidity, and heat!

Home was fine but very disappointed with the property management company, Vacasa!!

Upon our evening arrival, there were no security/motion lights to eliminate the door/entry area. We had to use our cell phone lights. But more disappointing was the fact that the door lock was broken and we were unable to get into the home. I called Vacasa and they said they would send an "immediate work order to the local staff". Not only did they never fix the lock, but I never received a call with any update. It was apparent to me that the local staff knew of this issue prior to our arrival because we later found the sliding glass door unlocked. This door would have only been unlocked because it was the only way to exit the home and it could not be locked from the outside. FOR OUR ENTIRE STAY AT THE HOME, THE SLIDING DOOR NEEDED TO BE UNLOCKED EXPOSING THE HOME TO OUR PERSONAL BELONINGS/VALUABLES!! Also, there was only one 9"fry pan. We had plans of cooking most of our meals at the home, but because there were not enough fry pans, we ended up spending more money by having to go out to eat. Upon checking out, I made one final call to Vacasa to share my disappointment with the agent who said she would contact the "local staff" and get back in touch with me. Much like my initial call, I have not received a call or email back from Vacasa. My advice to you - Do not rent a home that is managed by Vacasa.

Great cabin for a family gathering!

We went with our family of 4 + 2 dogs and met up with another family member. Perfect location for a couple of toddlers and 4 adults. The home itself does need some TLC with some things being broken/dirty but overall everything was lovely!

Quiet

We had a nice visit with our family in this cabin. It was a beautiful drive up to the place from the main road. It was peaceful and relaxing setting. The cabin was nice but definitely used regularly. The carpet had been patched in places and other spots were worn. The kitchen was greasy as almost every cupboard and cabinet door was dirty. We had to wash the dishes and silverware before eating so not sure how effective the dishwasher is. The gas fireplace want functioning when we were there. We had trouble with the Roku but found it was laying in the floor so repositioned it. Bring your own laundry detergent of you would like to have the option to wash clothes. It was relaxing to sit on the porch and eat while listening to the birds. The views of the mountains were decent as the leaves had not completely come out in the trees to obstructive the view.

Very nice stay

This was a very nice stay, the home was beautiful. A few things to note-if you have small children bring a baby gate, they do not provide one and the stairs are steep. The yard is not big but it is a nice walk around the property and the roads. I would stay again.
