Nearby are wineries, historical sites and antiques waiting to be discovered. The nationally acclaimed Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum are located in Springfield, an easy ten-minute drive through rural vistas. While here, visit Lincoln's Home National Historic Site, Lincoln's Tomb, the Lincoln Depot, Frank Lloyd Wright's Dana Thomas House, and more! Pick up lunch at the historic Maid-Rite Sandwich Shop - the first drive-thru in the nation. In the summer season, you'll find an abundance of roadside stands selling fresh produce and melons. Bike along the country roads, with bicycles provided (seasonally) for your enjoyment. This home is a short, fifteen-minute drive from New Salem State Historical Site where Lincoln tended store and surveyed the surrounding area.

Quiet Country Living

Perfect place in the country

Exactly as described. Check in was so easy. It was clean and well organized. We had everything we needed. We stayed with extended family and spent most of the time either in the kitchen or by the fireplace. Excellent communication with the owner. Our dogs loved being out in the country, it was pretty perfect and will stay again

Great stay in the country

The property is nicely maintained and very clean. The deocor is inviting and the property has everything you need. It is about 15 minutes away from Springfield in a quiet country area but has all the amenities including fast wifi. Propery owner responds quickly to questions and is available by cell phone if anything comes up. We enjoyed our stay a lot!

Super cute house in the country. Perfect quiet getaway. Very clean Had everything we needed for our trip to the palomino world show. Perfect stay

We were visiting Springfield for our daughter’s gymnastic nationals and would be in town for a full week, but didn’t want to be stuck in a hotel all day when she wasn’t competing. The property was above and beyond our expectation, great location and nice and quiet for a good night‘s sleep. Everything you can think of is provided (down to a first aid kit 😂). Our girls loved having room to play outside and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening while they hunted lightning bugs. We even had some deer come close to graze and a little family of raccoons provided some entertainment as well. The host is very responsive, I definitely recommend this property if you want somewhere quiet, but close to town.

My adult children and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. Everything we could possibly need was provided. While located in the quiet countryside, it was still only about a 15 minute drive to all the attractions we wanted to see in the city. The owner was easy to communicate with.

This house is a gem!

What a darling house! It was very clean and more spacious that it looks like in the pictures. It is in a country setting, which is peaceful and quiet. There is only one bathroom, which has an amazing shower, but it was a tight fit for our family of 6. The sofa turns into a bed, but guests are sleeping on the sofa cushions, so better for children, but not adults. Quick drive into Springfield. The house is beautifully decorated and very functional. The table extends to accommodate 6 guests. Overall, an enjoyable stay!

Great Rural place to stay

I absolutely loved this place! I stayed not for a vacation but due to work. I wanted a place that felt like home so I could get the rest I needed after working long hours. (I’m a light sleeper so hotels don't work for me) This was definitely the place. The bed was comfy, the little coffee nook was great! It was home away from home. Those that want to get away from the hustle bustle off the city life, this is definitely the place.

A Pure Gem

This is an adorable place. We found it exceptionally clean, beautifully decorated, and in the country with nice bike trails only minutes away. What more could you ask for? Everything from the tableware to the bathroom towels were of high quality. The shower is amazing and something you have to experience for yourself. It's not the kind you normally find in a rental property which is just another reason why this place stands out from the rest. It's a pure gem and hopefully next time we can stay a little longer. Why they chose this property

As a mother of two daughters, ages 3 and 12, I know the joys and potential challenges of traveling with young children and large families. We have renovated this home to cater to all age groups and every type of traveler.
