Peaceful

Amazing home to borrow for a week. Quiet, clean and peaceful neighborhood about 5 minutes to downtown Ruidoso. My favorite area of house was the deck/patio…wish I could’ve opened the door to the deck from bedroom and enjoy a book in bed but it appears to be shut permanently? They were sweet enough to have some complementary coffee! I definitely recommend staying.

Ruidoso

The property is beautiful. The doors on the back bedroom that go out onto the deck do not latch or lock. They kepted coming open. You could just push on the doors and they opened.

Great cabin

Beautiful cabin in good location. Living room was so comfortable & spacious. Kitchen was very nice. Only complaint the third bedroom bed was terrible- needs new mattress and it squeaks horribly when you move. Otherwise a wonderful stay. Deck was perfect for relaxing.

Relaxing

We had a much needed, relaxing break from the Texas heat. The cabin is very rustic but cozy and fairly clean. Kitchen had everything we needed and was very nice. The best thing was the deck overlooking the river. It enhanced our stay and was just what we were hoping for!

This was a great place to stay. Easy to get to and from. The only thing that was bothersome with the hole in the floor in the kitchen...was kinda of scary to walk thru and the fact that there was a very STRONG smell of pot when we got there and still lingered into the next day but was not as strong day #2. Gave all of us a headache.

Great experience!

We had a girls' weekend getaway to Ruidoso in August, and we loved the Apple Tree cottage and the Upper Canyon area. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything a home cook needs, so that was a pleasant surprise. We baked, made soup, and lots of snacks and had every pan and utensil we needed. The beds were moderately comfortable, but the smaller bedroom has a metal framed bed that is very noisy (needs a little WD 40). The porch and living areas are fantastically cozy. The only complaint we have is that the cabin needs a deep clean. Rustic, yes! Spider webs, dust, dirty vents, and baseboards, not so much. We would definitely stay again but would call ahead and ask for a deep clean before our visit.

Save Your Time and Rent From A Different Rental Group

I actually did not have a chance to stay at the property because the management group, Hummingbird Cabins, moved us to a different location due to "plumbing issues". 15 minutes before check-in to the updated place, I was moved to a place that I did not pick or have an option to pick. The updated place actually cost less than the listing I paid for (but I was not refunded a difference). They make you sign a lot of paperwork that is not disclosed in their listing, but they are not transparent that this is required until after you are locked in and do not have an option to cancel. Read: sign or forfeit over $1,000 for a two day stay. They have dishonest and unfair business practices that are not centered around the person visiting. They are not transparent and I will not stay at any cabin managed by them in the future. We were really looking forward to staying at this listing, but we were stuck in a reservation we could not cancel (even though we were redirected to a reservation we did not have any choice in). The place we ended up at did not have the same features and amenities of the place we originally booked. Save your time and avoid this scam.

Quiet Family Retreat

We enjoyed a quiet time for our family. We joined our son who is in the Army with his fiance and her son for a time of rest and to get to know each other. The cabin was clean and had plenty of character. The location was just what we needed to get away and get time for our family.
