Our unit is a privately owned hotel room located in the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa.

Amazing ground floor unit with king bed, chaise lounge and walk out lanai to pools/ beach. Step out your door, in seconds your at the pools and a minute or two your at the beach!

The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian plantation-style resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go thru a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beach front property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with water falls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your back yard!

• 4 swimming pools, including 2 lagoon pools, 75-ft lava tube slide, & kid-friendly sand bottom pool.

HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES
• Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay.
If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning. Towel exchange is $25.

As Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, coin laundry access and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa.

By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $25 per day resort fee charged by the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay.

FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM?
Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT
The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay.

DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN?
No. They do not have kitchens they were previously hotel rooms.

ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT?
No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests.
WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE?
The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but, is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best is to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming.

SHOULD I GET A CAR?
We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Hertz car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental.

IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT?
No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort is close the airport which makes taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island!

ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH?
Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels.

DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE?
Private owner guests are not required to pay the $25 daily resort fee.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE?
Yes, if you have a car the resort charges $40/day for parking. This fee is paid by the guest to Kauai Beach Resort at check-in.

DO I GET FREE WI-FI INTERNET SERVICE?
YES! Wi-Fi is FREE in all the units. The signal extends into the lobby, restaurants, bars and in the pool area!

Lovely property

The unit and grounds were lovely, with hot tubs, pools, and secluded beaches. The room was very comfortable and it’s patio had a nice view of the pool areas. The listing did not include the $35/day parking fee information.

What a beautiful place!

We loved our time here! The room was great. The location is on the ground floor and has a beautiful lanai which is approximately 15 steps to the gorgeous pool area. It couldn't have been more perfect. We spent our mornings sipping coffee and watching all the birds while enjoying the sound of the waterfalls at the pool. The grounds are immaculately groomed and this place is a delight to the senses. We will definitely rent again if we have the opportunity to come back to Kauai. Thank you for the great experience. It was a pleasure!

We check it in from a 6 hour flight to find out our room wasn’t cleaned. Towels everywhere and used condoms on the bed. Yuk. Don’t recommend this.

Centrally located

This place is more like a resort than a hotel. Beautiful grounds, multiple pools, great food and entertainment. Its literally a couple minutes from the airport but you really dont get alot of plane noise. The staff is super friendly and always available. The room is a typical hotel room. Its clean has an oversized dorm style fridge which was nice. If you are doing Kauai right this is all you need, a comfy bed after being outside all day. This room was almost half whatbthe hotel charges so i would call this a bargain!!

The room is ok, host rude, we had to take out of the room our trash ourself « in the back of the building » (even if there is 5 buildings), and if you have an expensive cleaning fee. Im no garbage man.

Let me start off by saying the pool and ocean are beautiful, but the room was sub par. Our bathroom had ants crawling on the counter the entire stay. We had to put out toothbrushes in plastic bags when not using them. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were awful. Be mindful of the bar and restaurants on property they charge 18% gratuity and don’t tell you. We won’t be coming back

A very warm and welcoming place. Staff was all friendly. The resort does show signs of deferred maintenance however. It is good to see that they are starting to upgrade/rehab the place. We’ll be back one day.

Amazing and accommodating host!

This is a very nice unit at a wonderful property. There is a daily parking fee at the resort if you are parking a car. The resort has an amazing pool complex that includes 3 full sized pools (two have waterfalls into them and one is more shallow as it is to play volleyball in), 2 hot tubs (one that has a waterfall into it, and a shallow kids pool with a sandy bottom and sandy beach around it (FYI The sand is pretty course and I found it a little rough on my feet, but not too bad). The ocean is less than 50 yards from the kids pool, but at the time of our stay this was not a good beach for swimming or playing in the water. It was very rocky with rough ocean conditions, but that allowed for surfers and body boarders which we enjoyed watching. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The unit was great with a comfortable bed. It has a refrigerator, but no microwave. It states that there is a microwave at another location within the resort, but we did not use it. There is a small patio outside the sliding glass door of this first floor unit. The patio has 2 chairs and is less than 50 yards from the pool area. The unit was very clean and the host couldn’t have been more accommodating. We had some unexpected troubles that required us to extend our trip. Unfortunately this unit was already booked directly following our stay. However, they were able to rebook us in another unit of theirs following a one night gap where we booked a room directly with the resort. Due to the nature of our unexpected trip extension we did not have a firm time on how much longer we needed to extend our stay. The host worked with us allowing us to have a somewhat open ended departure date. This is not something that we expected nor should anyone expect as this is a business and they have to run it as such. However, the host was extremely kind speaking to me multiple times via telephone throughout our stay to help me navigate this unplanned trip extension. In addition to this my daughter got sick in the night and the host was able to get her cleaning staff to bring us some clean linens and remove our soiled linens. This host went above and beyond my expectations time after time during our stay. I couldn’t recommend nicer people to rent from!

Hotel Room at Kauai Beach Resort

The property is only a few miles from the airport. We considered foregoing a rental car but happy we got one. The check in was simple and the clerk explained how the VRBO differed from the hotel guests. We pre-booked our room cleanings with the property host but most everything else was the same. We could bill things to the room. There is a small fridge with freezer to keep drinks and snacks cool. The pool was great. The beach behind the resort isn't great for swimming but there are several other beaches nearby.
