CONNECT WITH US

We default to give our guests privacy. We are happy to socialize, give recommendations, etc. We pride ourselves on good hospitality, let us know how we can help! We less than 10 minutes away so reach out if you have any questions or need anything!

LOCAL AREA: Bailey is an old mountain town and hidden gem in Colorado. Aspen Peak Cellar winery is one of our go-to spots for good food and wine along the river. There are also multiple restaurants, a brewery, and shops like the Chill Squirrel.

GETTING AROUND: AWD or 4WD in the winter is highly recommended. We plow the driveway but snow conditions can vary. Due to the location of Bailey, Uber is not available nor is there public transportation. Most guests rent a car if they are from out of state or international.

Red Rocks Concert and just some fresh Colorado Mountain Air.
Bear’s Den stole mine and my wife’s heart! The views are amazing. The Outlook is wonderful. The cabin has everything you need in the kitchen to cook. The place is super cozy, love the decor. Beds where so comfy. Easy access to Red Rocks, and a gorgeous drive. The concert was phenomenal. Just a relaxing weekend away. We will be back for sure!

Couples Getaway/Red Rock Concert
My husband and I stayed in Bear Cabin. We loved that it was clean, thoughtfully decorated and stocked, and had amazing views. We spent most of our time on the deck or in the hot tub. The owners were accommodating when we made a late change to our reservation, which we appreciated. Next time we’d come back with our young kids!

Absolutely Perfect
The house and property were amazing! First off, it was undoubtedly the cleanest home I’ve stayed in. Immaculate. The view from the Living room is stunning. I found myself staring out the window constantly and watching the view change with the weather. The property itself is also beautiful with natural plants, rocks and trees enhanced by the owners’ own accents. The home is close to town and a lot of places to visit are nearby. We did a hike in nearby Staunton State Park and it was gorgeous. The owner was super friendly and very responsive to any questions we had. We had no issues with checking in or out nor with any features of the home. It made for a very relaxing trip. We certainly hope to be back,

A magical place
My husband and I really wanted to disconnect from everything a bit, and man was this the place. Walking in we were amazed at how clean everything was. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the mountains right out your window just sets your day to a good start! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could possibly need to cook, and clean. I can not say enough good things about this cabin! We loved it so much, and are planning our next trip asap!

Snow in May!
Upon arriving it had already been snowing all afternoon! The mountains were so beautiful, amazing view from the porch! The power went out in the middle of the night due to the storm, but Mark was in contact with us the whole time, he brought us water and offered to bring us breakfast in the morning! He also plowed our driveway (and I believe the whole street!) Highly recommend, but not if I get there first!

Couldn’t ask for a better getaway place!
This place was absolutely amazing! The views alone are worth every 5 star I could give!! The pictures on Marks listing show you exactly what you are getting and it was amazing. We explored his property and climbed to the top of the mountain and had even more incredible views, it was the perfect place for a family getaway! We had it snow 13” one day and it was so magical for people in Texas who don’t experience snow! I would definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The house is tucked away on a mountain far off the road, so if you’re looking to get on the highway and get, this might not work for you. We so loved being off in the woods and not having to worry about traffic and neighbors. The cabin had everything we could need. Plenty of kitchen supplies, bedding, etc. Also, Mark was an amazing and gracious host. He was extremely communicative, plowed the driveway for us to get in and out. Had suggestions for us, offered his advice on us driving in the very heavy snow fall we received. Just overall, a 10+ experience. We hope to come back to Colorado again and will definitely be staying with Mark again if we do. You will not regret one moment of a stay at this cabin. Getting to experience the mountains and sunrise and sunsets at this cabin was exactly what we needed. Thank you Mark!!

Absolutely amazing stay
The picturesque views are much much better than even the photos show! The property owners were so accommodating and kind, even bringing us a bottle of wine to try. This is a must-stay. The location is definitely up in the mountains and so worth the drive.

About the host

I am originally from Wisconsin (Go Pack!). I moved to the Colorado mountains in 2018 to find a place that when I put my computer away, it felt like I was on vacation.

I am a part time consultant and host. Since early 2020 I have been fortunate to provide an escape for guests. I care immensely about guest experience and work hard to provide thoughtful hospitality. I love meeting guests and am open to socializing but I will default to privacy.

I am also a Superhost on Airbnb and are continuously improving the guest experience.

Why they chose this property

I love this home; it is not just another place to rent. This mountain home has a fun history (first guest was a bear) and truly embodies the "Cozy Nook Cabins" theme. I was purposeful to design a cozy escape - e.g. a conversation only space by the fire, a lone rocking chair for personal time, to a large smart TV with a 90s N64 for social time.

Enjoy beautiful views without stepping out of the house and the 10 acres of land to explore more views of the national forest and mountain range.

What makes this property unique

Wake up in the morning on your own time. The quiet is only broken by the hum of birds and the rush of the river down the ravine. Step out onto the deck to take in the smell of the forest in the cool morning air. Grab coffee and take a walk to the outlook. On your way say hi to the deer, fox, and more. Take a seat on the boulders with an unobstructed view of the mountain range. Notice how everyday the setting of the mountain range changes from fog rolling through to the winter wonderland snowfall.

During the day, hit the dirt roads to go hiking or winery/brewery exploring in Bailey. It is your day to take on.

Late at night, load the fire burning stove to feel the cozy heat on your feet. Get lost in the flame's flicker. Enjoy a drink and comfortable conversation with your loved ones or grab some board games to add some fun competition.
