The house was perfect! Quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance to downtown. There is also a park only a block away that the kids really enjoyed. The house was updated, clean, and the kitchen was well equipped. The hosts were very responsive. I would definitely stay here again!
We had a wonderful stay at the house. It was very convenient to the historic district, but was very quiet. The kitchen and bathrooms were modern in this beautiful old house. We had plenty of room for our extended family.
Walking distance to EVERYTHING...and I dont like walking...so that says something...CLOSE ! We stayed 3 nights and didnt crank the car. Breakfast lunch and dinner ...a massage, shopping, and live music...all a short walk away. AND, it's a quiet neighborhood...you would never know you were THAT close too so much ! Next time, we bring the wives ! Oh, the beds were comfortable, nice new kitchen, coffee pot/pods...off street parking. A great place !
Clean house, comfy beds and in walking distance to everything!! Very professional property manager / owner. Communication was great and they provided all the info we needed for the weekend.
The house worked out great for our family of 7.
It was also a great location for walking into town. It had its own off-street parking. I just wish it had a dining table to sit for meals. But we would go back again for everything else.
We were in town for a wedding at the White Room for the first night of lights and walked everywhere. This property was perfect location to all the restaurants. The beds were very comfortable. I would stay here again.
If I wrote everything that I loved about this house it would be a best seller novel!!

You cannot find a better location for visiting historic St. Augustine during Christmas. Our family stayed at this wonderful home during a very busy time. We were within walking distance of St. George St. and enjoyed sitting on the porch watching the people walking past. The home is updated with four nice bedrooms, plenty of room for our family. Unfortunately, the weather was very cold and the heat went out. We spent one very cold night and had to leave because there was no communication on what they were doing or when the heat would be fixed. This pretty much ruined what had been a great vacation. We now did get refunded for the day we left early. Therefore, we would gladly stay here again, we liked it that much!
Property was beautiful and in the most convenient area of historic St. Augustine. We loved sitting on the spacious front porch every night while the horse drawn carriages strolled by. We walked everywhere we needed to go. Cant wait to stay here again!
The Starling is a great house with wonderful 1930s charm while not lacking modern amenities and in a great walkable neighborhood in close proximity to the heart of St. Augustine. My main critique is that there is no physical 'guidebook' or house overview/stay info. The property manager tried to send a link initially but the link didn't work (I'm guessing a problem with the VRBO app messaging) so I had to call and get rerouted through the phone number listed in order to get the wifi information. It took the property manager a couple days to send the link again (unsuccessfully) so the response timing could be better. There were several other questions we had but didn't get answered because we didn't get the guidebook or response until a couple of hours before checkout. Overall we had a great time and loved the house but a simple printed version of the guidebook would have avoided all of the issues we ran into
Extremely clean. Kitchen has all necessary items for guests to cook meals with ease. Spacious and decorated for comfort and charm. Beds extremely comfortable. Updated home and yet warm and historical. The kind of home you’d feel excited to stay in and lounge around.
The lovely front porch, beautiful updates to home and spacious rooms made up for lack of towels, washcloths, shared hall bath without a shower curtain, (all six of us had to use the master shower) squeaky bunk bed in third bedroom (son moved to couch it was so loud) and second bedroom bed on the floor. Loved sitting on the porch. We loved walking to downtown shops. Would stay again but only if squeaky bed was changed and shower curtain put in place so all would be comfortable.
The house was a great old house with a lot of character. Perfect entertaining house, loved the layout and porch and convenient being so close to town.
Two complaints-house smelled very musty when walking in door (apparently is in a flood zone). Also, odd that the only shower in the house is in the master bathroom. Everybody had to use that one shower which could be inconvenient. There is a deep tub in the main bathroom in the hallway with a shower held handle but no shower curtain so basically useless. You’d think the main bathroom would be the one with the shower 🤷🏻♀️.
Would stay here again tho. Parking on site was also a key item.
This was a perfect staycation, great location, walking distance from downtown. I highly recommend

Location Great, Amenities Lacking . . .
Location is great and convenient to the historic district, restaurants and shops. This property appears to be relatively “new” to VRBO and has a few flaws that would make us not want to come back. First, the shared bath does not have a shower. This is a major design flaw in the renovation. Second, while the beds are comfortable, the bunk bed in the third bedroom squeaks so loudly when someone moves that it is difficult to sleep. Third, the amenity package has much to be desired (4 towels and 2 washcloths (in total) for a 3 night stay, toiletries for 1 night, no wine glasses, etc.). More importantly, no one responded to our request for additional towels and toiletries. Lastly, the front porch was filthy as all surfaces were covered with a black film. The good news is that everything but the shower issue can be fixed.
