Girls weekend

This was a great property- within walking distance of downtown Afton and close to the park. The host really spent time on the details and had so many little amenities that made it feel like such a treat to stay there. Highly recommend!

Afton Alps Ski weekend

The Afton Carriage house was a perfect "home base" for our family's first ski trip to Afton Alps. Kathy is such a welcoming and conscientious host. The house is gorgeous and the amenities like ready to make coffee and hot cocoa were much appreciated. We also had a few tasty dinners at the nearby restaurant Swirl. We hope to visit again.

Afton visit

The house is located on a cute street with an excellent restaurant and ice cream shop within walking distance. The house is extremely clean and was well stocked with all sorts of breakfast items, drinks and snacks. We were very happy during our stay. Kathy is a wonderful host. Thank you so much for letting us stay in your home! We hope to stay again.

Afton Carriage House.

Three generations of my family spent Mother’s Day weekend at the Carriage House. Our host, Kathy, provided a lovely environment. I have never stayed in a location that was so completely stocked. We cooked most of our own meals and the kitchen was wonderfully furnished. Love the second story deck for eating outside. We even were given a welcome gift. Thank you. Exceptionally clean and comfortable.

Sisters Weekend Getaway

Beautifully decorated carriage house! Kitchen with all kinds of small appliances and wonderful dishes. Refrigerator was stocked with various kinds of water and juice, breakfast goodies and even eggs and butter! Tea, coffee, hot chocolate in a variety of flavors. Soft luxurious towels and pillows. Easy check in and out. It is on the upper level, but the stairs are wide and easy to use. Kathy has thought of everything! Loved our stay!

Lovely Clean Upper Apartment

Spotless, wonderful location close to town with several restaurants. Only negative is that it is on upper floor of duplex (Owner below) and there is a long staircase. One of the two bathrooms has a miniature size pedestal sink which is hard to use, but the second bath is nice. Had food and beverages included in refrigerator. That was especially appreciated. Kitchen is very pretty with beautiful cabinets and counters. Beds comfortable, nice linens.Would definitely stay there again

Beautifully appointed apartment

The beds were very comfortable and mmmbedrooms elegantly decorated. If you are short, you may need a step stool! Lots of beverages provided and other treats. My only concern was fact that this is an upper level apartment and the stairs were a challenge for us older folks.

The most beautiful little carriage house !

My fiancé and parents and I stayed here as we had family in Woodbury. It was absolutely wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The amenities were never ending and the decor was my favorite. It’s in a perfect location, walking distance to wine bar, cocktail bars and restaurants. There are nice places to hike/walk as well. We are boat people and there is a marina nearby we walked to and we were surprised with the most stunning views of the colorful fall trees and St Croix river . We would definitely go back someday! Thanks for the hospitality!

Wonderful host; perfect stay!

Kathy provided such a cozy, relaxing place for us to spend the weekend! The carriage house layout is unique and fun, and it was very clean and fresh. Every cupboard/cabinet/closet+fridge was full of options for guests; the balcony was perfect for morning coffee; beds and couch were super comfy -- and there is a deer that wanders through once in a while! Our highest praise is for the host, who allowed us to transfer our reservation after Covid struck us at the very last minute before our booked stay. She was so gracious and accommodating, so we were still able to enjoy a weekend together. Thank you, Kathy!!

Wonderful In Afton

Beautiful two bedroom carriage house. Clean and well stocked, 30 minutes from St. Paul, 5 minutes from Afton Alps and across the street from the St. Croix River. Highly Recommended.

This is a Carriage House which is located in a safe, great area. Next to the original 1860s home built by a man named Asa Tracy along the St. Croix River. Asa Tracy traveled by horse and wagon from the east coast with his wife Flora in an era that could be hostile due to the environment of the times, Remember Afton was in its day a small town made up of many interesting people! Read the Afton Remember book to learn more about Afton's History.

What makes this property unique

The Carriage House is a fully functioning living space, nicely decorated and comfortable. You can use the kitchen to cook and entertain. Local restaurants within walking distance. There are extra bed linens stored in the hall closet and the bedrooms. Full sized refrigerator with condiments. Breakfast foods for on the run or eating in if you choose to cook.
