Visit the Hiawatha National Forest and Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore while you nestle up in the pines on this cozy lake cottage. Just 7 miles south of Munising and close to bike and hiking trails you can adventure this summer and fall heading any direction. End your evening in front of the cozy fireplace inside or firepit outside while the kids roast their smores. Canoe and row boat available on the lake. No beach on this property as the water table is high this year but you can explore the lake with plenty of swimming and fishing. This is an all sports lake. Cabin does not have a boat launch, however, there is a trail and steps to access lake from the cottage.

Lost Lake

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Visit was fine. Reservation dates got confused, mostly my fault, and staff were very understanding and helpful.

Nice little cabin

We loved the lake and the fact that there was nice hiking close by. We brought our tandem foot-pedal kayak and enjoyed paddling around the lake. Too bad that the fishing was poor.

Very enjoyable experience

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall very comfortable cabin. Kitchen tools (pots, pans, utensils, appliances etc ) were all very adequate. Nice view and nice lake. The tap water smells really bad but doesn’t taste as bad as it smells, but it is typical of all the well water in the area. We will probably stay here again next time we visit the upper peninsula.

A great place to get away!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: From the guest book, it appears we were the second set of guests this calendar year. The house smelled a bit like it had been closed up for the winter, but by the time we left it was nearly gone. Everything was exactly as described. The property manager was very responsive; there was even an incident that for those of us not familiar with the area may have been concerned it was close by, but we received a text making us aware and assuring us that there was no reason to be concerned. It was close enough to Munising for activities and food, while still be out far enough to enjoy peace and quiet on the lake. I would absolutely book this again and highly recommend it!!

First trip to UP— fall color tour.

Wasn’t sure what to expect on first trip to UP. Was able to run in the beautiful natural area every morning, then on to hiking and other activities and tours nearby, then back to a comfortable cabin and cozy fire.

Comfy cabin on a big lake.

Cabin was exceptionally clean -- spotless, in fact -- and the perfect home away from home. Despite its relatively small size, the cabin had a spacious deck in the back with a grill, hammock, and table & chairs, as well as a kitchen stocked with appliances. The television was very easy to use (don't let the other reviews scare you). The fireplace was perfect for the nights that got chilly. The beds were comfy, and the deck extending into the lake was very cool. The cabin's location was ideal too: right on the lake and very quiet, yet only a few miles from the town of Munising. The only nitpick I can think of is pretty trivial, but if you aren't used to well water, bring your own water, because it definitely tastes and smells like well water. We would not hesitate at all to stay at this cabin again if we are ever in the amazing upper peninsula of Michigan again. Very highly recommended.

Nice cabin

Nice place: comfortable and great location. I don't like pedestal sink in the bathroom---no place to put toothbrush or other things used at the sink. The TV did not work as advertised. I could not use my streaming apps and no help was provided. There are still people who need technical assistance with "smart TVs" but non was offered.

Perfect Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed here the week before Memorial Day and absolutely loved everything. The cottage is just as pictured, so cozy and happy with a gorgeous view of Lost Lake out the giant picture window. This was a great jumping off point to all sorts of fun adventures, and also a delightful place to just chill. We had one cold, rainy day during our trip, and we spent it cozied up in the cottage, reading and watching the rain fall on the lake - absolutely delightful. Everything was clean and orderly, and we would definitely come back to stay here again. We enjoyed taking the canoe out on the lake and watching the sunset from the back deck.
